I wonder what could be done to convert all of that trash back into the components that created it in the first place? Maybe start by burning it and capturing the fumes to break it down physically into powder, then physically separate it using civs and centrifugal separators. Then after that... I don't know... but it would definitely be chemistry time.
Usage of plastic in maldives is bit high they have to reduce it or else its really very bad for them. even for wrapping food some hotels wr using polythene bags.
What is the point of traveling to the Maldives to pay to see a garbage dump? By going there we are contributing to the maintenance of such a state of affairs. Once there it is the tourists who produce so much garbage. Two the authorities know they don't have to do anything about it because the tourist will come anyway and leave money.
💡They would do well to follow China and India with plastic Pyrolysis recycling, which turns plastic into useable fuel.✅ 👍🏿Thereby keeping plastic out of the oceans and lessening fuel costs!‼
Actually the system of governing isn't perfect I would say bcoz Every 5 years or in a coup the government changes so the problem is there isn't enough time for any leadership to engage a serious issues we have in the country. What we have witnessed and experienced past 15 years.
It's sad how much beauty humans destroy. Man, the Maldive people have really messed up their home. Just for some convenience. (Most countries are just as bad, but it's not as obvious as population density isn't so high).
anyone knows divehi article about these plastic pollution?what is plastic pollution cause our future.i really discuss about this with my maldivian family.
Went to Maldives SEP'17 took my own drinks/snacks. After going for a walk on #ParadiseIsland and seeing burning off of rubbish at end of island I decided to clean and flatten all my plastic bottles then packed it in my bag to fly home, along with ALL rubbish used during our 4 night stay. Pollution of sea shores is one of the causes of fish extinction

Very expensive processes !
they do not have the money nor the technology to do this.
And where would you put all the trash?
Invite Singapore to advise the way to do it.
I hope the Maldives won't disappear amid rising sea levels
thrash reclamation to give higher ground
Gods will

Maldives has been my dream island. What is going on? We need to do our best to reduce the garbage. Lets stop wasting.
Maldives is a country, and I I from maldives, and that's the island where all the garbage are burned
Everyone who reads this, we don't know each other and probably never will but I wish you all the best in life and all the luck in the world 🥰💓🥰
That is shocking
One solution is that every tourist takes his trash back home it used to be like this with edelweiss airlines I hope it’s still running

the type of government is not relevant. They do not have the means to get rid of the garbage on a sustainable way.
lets get Singapore to turn that thrash into Malakau Islands (Semakau inspired)
Maldives needs more tourists and their thrash.
