Thanks for watching firewood fanatics! More TRACTOR videos will be coming soon. I have about 12 videos that I shot before it came that I have to show you and I am making new tractor videos and editing them right now, you will see lots of them soon!!
Another respectable video. Not mention any names, but good use of safety gear as good dialog. No drinking on the job, no smoking in the wood yard, proper use of hearing protection. Some make good use of of gear for themselves , but wife enters the picture,,,,,,, no works boots, no helmet, no hearing protection, safety gies out the window, even my self, never wore saw pants till I was 67 years, never wore hearing protection, unless mandatory, breathing apparatus haaa!! Now at 71 and watching good use of safety gear and precautions, I like your work ethics.
Thanks Chris for taking the time to produce great content and allow us to benefit from your Wood Yard experience and feedback through the comments. @@InTheWoodyard as a thought is it worth advertising smoker wood for offset smokers I think the wood ideally needs to be small. I would guess you are getting into BBQ season. Don't you guys have a big holiday in just over a weeks time?

Hey Chris! Found my first piece of metal in oak yesterday. Well, didn't actually find the metal yet but did find the purple/blue staining in the grain. Gonna dig into the chunk and see if I can find it while splitting it. Luckily it doesn't appear that I hit the metal with the saw. Was a good day! Thanks for sharing the info. I would have had no idea that metal was there if you hadn't shared this info.
I'm surprised you don't put your smaller pieces of wood up to your 4way and split them more even instead of getting 2 little pieces of kindling on top.
Somehow you get two days of work done in two hours. I’d like to say it’s the Easton Made machine, but I believe it’s something in the water there. What’s Kenny up to ?? Love a new update video with him !!
Two days ago I was ready to buy an eastonmade log splitter but unfortunately it would cost of additional $2,000 for shipping and I wouldn't get it until next year
@@InTheWoodyard Welp, here’s another suggestion from your favorite YouShould’er (as Mike Morgan offers that this platform be re-named). 😂. On every split there is a fixed size split(under the wedge) and a variable sized split(above the wedge). 90-95% of the time you are re-splitting the bottom(fixed) size split as opposed to the variable sized(upper) split. (Watch your split vids and it will confirm). And you’re having to reach Through/around the wedge to pick up the fixed split for re-splitting.(it’s so frequent it just feels natural). The comment I am responding to indicates that there may not be an adjustment coming. 😊 I propose that if the wedge would be lowered to the fixed size that needs to not be re-split(not sure if that is one notch or two notches) try it at that height for two to three solid days of splitting, and only re-split the variable sized (upper) split to see if you like it better. If you like the original way, then it can be easily returned to where it was. You are certainly welcome to mutter under your breath about this idiot in the comment section. 😊. You have no idea about how long I’ve held off making this suggestion. 😂😂😂. Thanks so much for the free entertainment. It truly is a joy to be able to watch/ interact with you through RUclips/ YouShould! Brian.
It’s hard to believe you do all that splitting and all that work with the Eastonmade ultra. That’s like the entry level of their splitter line. They should give you a dealership.
Eastonmades entry level ULTRA, is 3x better than almost all other splitters out there. That is my opinion. And there bigger pro models are in a whole different class than everything else.
Hey Chris, Can't you get the automatic return hydraulic valve from Andrew and retrofit it to your log splitter? Seems like it would speed up your operation. Put the used one on EBAY with specs needed to run it and recoup some of your cost. Too expensive is that the issue? I'm sure you could install it yourself. PS Where is the tractor video's?
Chris, nice work in the woodyard! Great music accompanied with fast splitting. How many hours have you put on that splitter? Do you think you will upgrade to a processor?
@@InTheWoodyard must be nice compared to this gag weather we have in east Texas 😂 get tired after 10 minutes of picking up wood to split here even with a gas log splitter
Well I have to sell about six more face chords of firewood. I should have enough money for a new gas powered hydraulic splitter. My little electric 6 ton hydraulic log splitter is just way too slow.
How many more cords do you think you're going to go through this season vs. last year. I finally used my Super Splitter for the second time last night for a few minutes, managed to split about 1/6th of a cord up for camping next week...that will get us through the first night lol.
I'd love to have a push-through splitter like the Ultra. But my glacier will have to do until have the sales. By the way, has your split size changed from the glacier days?
Hello from Chicago! It looks like you always have to re-split the bottom two pieces because they are too big. Would a 6 way wedge save you a bunch of time by passing through just one time?

I am, not sure what you are trying to say??
Hold the camera In 1 hand while splitting not a fan of that
Have you ever thought about a six way wedge?? Just looking at cutting down on results. Have a Safe Day
It seems as if you might want to set the four-way wedge a little bit lower to reduce the number of re-splits of the bottom pieces.
That's my logic as well. But then the top pieces would need a resplit.
Sometimes yes a lower wedge would be better, sometimes it is just right.
