    For those of you who are confused the reason why current division rule cant be applied is because the resistors are in series with each other and NOT in parallel you can not put the two resistors in parallel because in the question they are in series cdr is applied when u have two or more resistors parallel with each other in this case they are clearly in series so you cant apply cdr but you can apply voltage division rule which is applied when resistors are in series which will give you the correct answer potential difference at 6 ohm resistors is 3.3 volts by voltage division rule now by ohms law I=V/R 3.3/6=0.5 repeating there you go

    I transformed 10v source into current source and than used current division rule and found current throungh 6ohm resistor but my answer is 2.22 A

    Sir, 10V ko current source me agar kiya to 6ohm, 3ohm & 6.66A current source parallel me aa rahe hai. Uske baad bohot doubt hai. plz solve the same que by this method.

    Sir for the same problem first convert that voltage source into current source and both the current sources are aiding then by using current division rule can we find the current through 6 ohm resistor

    sir,u have calculated current for 9 ohm.not for 6 ohm..i have doubt sir

      Because 6ohm and 3ohm are in series so current will be same for 6ohm and 3ohm
