- Whats good everyone, back at you with another Fig update. Title explains it all, finally getting double bumps and signs of figs from the in ground Chicago Hardy. 6/30, after a fairly warm spring, figlets are out and about on most trees as we in closer to potential harvest.

the key to chicagos up north is the ground temp the sooner the ground warms the sooner the plant pops out the top of last years plant is going to die back expose the ground to warmth as early as possible best sun you can give them
Absolutely, learned this the hard way with some of my inground trees, planning on using my new found knowledge to advance my collection!
Might I suggest for your Zone you target early season figs....Florea, Ronde De Bordeaux, Improved Celeste, Campaniere. These can be ripe within 60 day of figlet formation. Happy Growing & cheers man.
