- These moments taken from season two. Joe was the fix- it guy. But he seemed to always be hanging around the station and was included in all the station meetings. He brought an added dimension to the comedy of the show.
The funny thing is Joe Rogan's character on News Radio is just like him in real life-- he likes conspiracy theories, alternative ways of thinking, tech stuff and martial arts fighting.

What’s even funnier is that Joe mentioned this on a podcast today. He was talking about how acting on sitcoms isn’t really that difficult and should be considered “pretending” instead of acting, because he said when you’re on a sitcom you’re just being who you are. Acting is being someone else.
And his name is Joe in real life also!!

News Radio was an amazing show! I watched the show as much as possible back in the day! Funny , poignant, intelligent writing. Critically praised and always put in a crappy time slot along with having it's air date moved around. Then Phil Hartman was murdered. The show should have been bigger than it the ratings. As an older person who enjoys the JRE Experience podcast. I am surprised how many of his followers have not heard of this show. Like Joe said in the his high light clip " You can't take something off the internet ! It's like trying to take pee out of a pool ! "
Makes more sense than a TV series tho, his biggest successes are being a sports commentator and a podcast host, he made all his money from talking
I think he and Matt LeBlanc are interchangeable. He could have played the "Joey" character on "Friends." They're the same age and they both had that Boston accent.

I mean it's obviously not a hardcore "Southie" Boston accent. Both Rogan and LeBlanc grew up around Boston. Just listen to Rogan pronounce the word "Buried." Sounds more like Burr-ied instead of like Bear ied.

Rogan was like a completely different human being when he was younger. Different bone structure, different accent, different personality. It's crazy to see how much he has changed through the years.

I like the episode where Joe was filling in as the radio host and was killing it with ease. Then Phil Hartman's character tried to sabotage him by hiding his script, but Joe reads it out by pure memory anyways. Maybe its a foreshadowing for the Joe Rogan Experience

With all of the reruns on TV, I would love to see this one again!
The actors in this show provided hours of late night television for me in the early 2010's. Now I find Joe Rogan, the sound guy, and he's providing my night-time listening 3+ days a week.
He's actually really damn good. He kinda missed his calling but I'm glad he found the one he has now.
He definitely found his calling, which is hosting the best podcast of his time.

Which I listen to favourite episodes especially with Joey Diaz mainly because he grew up in the 80s- 90s and I feel the topics is very mainstream everyday real life topics .

For all the ignorant people here it is - In the 90s there were multiple shows that had a "Joey" character.. Blossom, Full House, Friends, News Radio and so on... it was a trend at the time. No one ripped anyone off. Like today we have a token black guy in every show back then there were the dumb good looking Joey types.
