I love fakes for the price. Designer brands are a rip off. Remember Dior tote cost about sixty dollars to make but retail for two thousand dollars? Hermes bags are the same. Their cost to make is nowhere near their retail price.
In the past, I bought a dupe for both the Birkin and the Kelly. In buying both bags, I learned that I am not a fan of either the Birkin or the Kelly. The closures are too fussy and I am too OCD to carry my bag partially open. Dupes are a good way to figure out the a bag style and whether or not you want to drop the coin on a high end bag.😊❤
They are a great way of finding out if the bag works, I would have done this with the mini kelly if I was considering buying one resale due to the price
There was a viral dupe for the Row Margaux at TJMaxx/Marshall's not long ago too. Now I see it everywhere on Amazon, Walmart etc. Honestly, I think the veil has been lifted for some people after the Dior scandal and I don't blame them for choosing the budget friendlier version. Honestly, what's the difference between a bag made by Chinese workers with Chinese manufactured materials in China (who get to go home, be with family and sleep in a normal bed) VS. a bag made by Chinese workers trafficked to Italy for low wages, sleeping in the factory without their family, and is made with Chinese manufactured materials shipped to Italy just so they can skirt a few laws to keep the label "Made in Italy" because it's technically *assembled* in Italy... I'm not a huge Walmart person but I do see the appeal. That Teddy Blake bag is so cute. Might have to put that on my 2025 wishlist in a lizard embossed version. ❤

Another unattainable bag😢…no Walmart here in Australia. Absolutely yes I would buy one! I went into Hermes in Melbourne to buy shoes and jewellery and was treated like an unwanted customer they literally hid out the back and keep looking around corner and would not serve me. I was not rude I was dressed well, and I was patient I waited 45 min to get help which did not happen. I was not the only one in the store that this was happening to, a lady who was sitting down said to me she was on day 2 waiting to buy and that if it wasn’t her daughter’s special birthday she would would never have come back with such poor customer service. I left and went and spent my money at LV with amazing lovely customer service.

I'm not saying that they're not quality bags but some people act as if they are the only high quality bags on the planet when justifying the price and the hoops to jump through. I'm not a handbag connoisseur but just from an outsiders perspective surely you can buy way better looking bags with the same quality for far less. I watch Jessie Styles here on RUclips and love watching her videos and she has a whole shelf full of Hermes but aside from the bright colors she has I honestly see nothing but a bunch of plain, non descript, and frankly boring bags. I'm not saying that to be mean and clearly she loves them and that's all that matters but in all honesty if it wasn't for the manufactured hype created by the feeling of scarcity I don't think most people would give a hoot about Hermes.

I don’t believe in giving off false impressions to appear to be something I am not. I believe a fair amount of buyers of dupes are individuals who belittle the brand(s) but then turn around and want to give off the impression that they are carrying the real thing with the dupe. That line of reasoning, I just cannot understand. But again, I don’t believe in giving off false impressions😊. For the Walmart inspired birkin, it’s egregious but at least it’s not a counterfeit. I work for Walmart in the US and we don’t have this bag in the stores it’s basically online only, I’m sure if it was in the stores it wouldn’t last long.
@ Probably not, because bags like that are for the online site, but the stores have their own brand of bags and clothes called Time and True and the bags are not real leather Walmart online also has a leather version of the mini Kelly by Norbrand for $59.05 I’m sure that will sell out also.
Awwww…the so called “luxury” ladies are mad because they are crazy enough to spend their hard earned money to a brand (Hermes) who makes them feel like the don’t deserve to buy their purse. But yet smart ladies getting the same look, paying under $100 and keeping money in their wallets. I love it!

Good quality versions of the Birkin have been kicking around for a long time and will continue to. I got one from Teddy Blake back when they used to have them. It was real leather and well made and the beauty of it is I got to test the style out before committing to buying a real Birkin (which I do now have). I was also able to use it without being worried about bumps or scratches. These bags serve a great function in letting us scratch an itch until the hype has worn off or test a bags suitability.
I don’t think I could ever be rich enough to feel comfortable spending the money to buy an actual birkin even if Hermes allowed me to but I do like nice bags so I might buy the Walmart one because I wouldn’t have to stress about it and it does seem like a nice bag
Yes, these are great - I have a few of them. Size 25 in light pink and gray and size 30 in black. It’s real leather and I paid something like $65 + tax. I can’t afford the actual Hermes one…but these are nice!

I love Teddy Blake because the quality and workmanship of the leather is beautiful. I can’t imagine for $80 the quality of this bag would be that great.
Back in October 2024, I purchased 3 one in Kelly Green and when I received i I was impressed with the quality - and the shipping was super fast- so I then purchased a black version for every day use. Mine did not have the cross body strap option, so I then purchased the smallest sz in light pink and the small pink has a cross body option which is nice. I also do have 2 actual Birkins I purchased back in 2003 - I was invited to be on the list and then waited for 2 years to purchase- I do enjoy having the Walmart versions for the very reason that these days I don’t want to run around town sporting a bag that now sells for around $15k to $20k and for everyday use the Workins I have are nice looking-I bought the real leather versions - and functional. I did go on line and ordered real leather straps to convert to a cross body style. And the straps matched the black leather of the Workin one I have beautifully. All in all its is a good option for many of the reasons you state in your video. After all, we should all wear what we love for whatever the reason. Also, let’s not forget that for hundreds of years women of substantial means have had replicas of their fine expensive jewelry made for travel purposes, etc. Having a Workin also serves a similar purpose.
I rather buy a bag from a brand that adds their own design elements to the style of bag. It’s totally fine for Coach to make their own quality version of the Margaux or Birkin by integrating their leathers and house codes, but I don’t understand wanting to have something that’s an inferior copy of the real thing. Who are you fooling? There’s so many good mid-range and affordable brands out there with super cute designs!
I would never buy a true fake with a fake label. I own several semi-duplicates. There is zero possibility of anyone on the secondary market mistakenly buying one of my dupes thinking it is an Hermes bag. The shoulder strap makes it even less likely to be mistaken for an original. I would like a WalMart 'Birkin' but we don't have Walmart her in Australia. The luxury houses will take years to recover from the Dior scandal and the shameful greed of the excessive price rises. I don't mind paying extra for a luxury label, but only within proportion. And that does not even apply to Hermes bags because if I had the purchase price, the company would be unlikely to sell it to me. Thank you for the video!
There's (for me) a huge difference between dupes and fakes! A fake is a copy trying to look exactly like the original, a dupe is more "inspired by" and there are obvious points of difference. I have one bag that could be called a dupe, it's the Pourchet Trianon and is similar to the Fendi Peekaboo. It has a turn lock (only on one side, the other is a snap closure), it has a similar shape, top handle and the two compartments. It has the stitching detail that some Peekaboos have. But the turn lock is quite different, and it doesn't have the snap closure at the sides that enable the Peekaboo to smile. For me, the Kelly, Capucines and the Peekaboo all have a similar vibe, but without being identical, and back in the day there would have been hundreds of bags with the same basic shape. My Trianon is a good quality bag, at a reasonable price and I take it everywhere with few worries (it's not the most secure bag with just a turn lock, so that gets taken into account), will I upgrade to a Peekaboo at some point? Possibly, but only after I get my hands on a Fendi Baguette!
PS: My understanding (I have no training in law, so don't relay on me!) is that there has to be a certain number of differences in fashion items to avoid prosecution for infringement. The inclusion of a shoulder strap and grommets would help Walmart to avoid problems.

As someone who is very particular with smell,dupes like this usually have a funky, chemical smell on them. There's even funky smelling LV canvas pieces(my Felicie Pochette I got at LV Frankfurt 😢) that I have to let go of. I saw someone opened his Wirkin,he said it smell faintly of leather then that plasticky smell you get from cheaper materials. I'm not an Hermes fan,but guys don't let this fool you. There is a difference in dupes and fakes that more than meets the eye. Don't believe the 100%genuine leather tag all the time. It all looks good in vids and pics until you hold that thing or after a few weeks,months using it. It's a terrible feeling a fake bag falling off on you after that initial feeling of elation that you got a good deal. I have my Speedy B25 canvas i got in Vegas that's made in US that the vachetta leather smells sooo good your nose can tell it's luxury. But if you're not very particular of these things, you do you.
From watching these videos on the Wirkin - I am tempted to get a dupe of this bag and other Hermes bags as I am not sure the style of bags would work for me. The ultimate goal would be to have a birkin or a kelly.

I think purchasing the Walmart version is a nice way to see if you truly would like to possibly invest in a Birkin. Plus it’s not a fake which makes it even better. Or maybe you can’t afford Hermes but you love the look. I love that there are dupes out there because everyone deserves to carry a nice bag whether real or just a dupe. I am definitely one of those people who feel if I have that kind of money for a bag, I should be able to walk in and purchase it. Therefor Hermes will never get any of my money. Even though I like some of their household items, it’s the principal of it. Won’t shop there. I am probably rare in that I am not a fan of that style so I won’t be purchasing the Walmart version. There’s alway been Birkin and Kelly dupes for example lily and bean and toteluxe ! I think if you think you’d like it but not 100% sure you can buy a dupe before dropping 20k on the resale market ❤
I personally don’t like dupes and I don’t understand why anyone would want to buy a bag that looks like it’s trying to be another bag. I understand there are many bags that look similar style wise but they’re not trying to be another bag-if that makes sense lol I would rather a bag that isn’t trying to look like something else. half the fun of owning a designer bag is when you know you've saved hard to buy the real deal, and it's your favorite and most cherished bag. buying a dupe comes across as a person who doesn't have a sense of style and buys something just because the internet told them to.
I just bought one today - 25 green (looks like a teal). Delivery is in about 2 weeks. They had two colors available and both sold out in seconds after my purchase. Paid $90.
If Walmart were to do a dupe of the Kelly, we could call it the Welly. I think the orange Werkin looks great fun and I wouldn’t say no to one. Hermes is way over my budget.
I think it's hilarious that there are now going to be thousands of people just running around shopping for groceries with what looks like a Birkin from a distance. And I think it's hilarious that some people are mad about it. Like if you genuinely love the design and how the Birkin is made, you won't mind. Obviously the original quality is still far superior and some think this alone is worth it. This makes sense. But if you just like it because it's exclusive, yeah, you will be mad. This situation shows how silly a reason is to overpay thousands of dollars just for exclusivity, when it can be so easily shattered.
While I appreciate the artisan craftsmanship and quality of the genuine Hermes bag, a real leather dupe that look so close to the real deal and cost only $78, it tells you how much markup you are paying for the name. At the end of the day, it’s just a bag.
My dream bag has always been a Birkin 40… I have to admit that I bought a pretty good replica online and after using for a couple of days I just realized that it’s not for me. It just doesn’t go with my lifestyle nor my everyday clothes, I’m always using gym clothes. I can’t justify wearing a Birkin with gym clothes, it looks ridiculous. I just stopped thinking about it and moved on to other bags that do fit into my lifestyle. Coach and Longchamp are more my style and I can afford buying authentics 😂
Hermes is behind the Walmart birkin bag. They have also allowed Walmart to sell preowned Birkins for over $30,000. Hence why they haven’t complained about Walmart selling it. It’s all marketing.

I checked it out it looks like a birkin in pictures but it has straps and of course does not say Hermes in the front. However the leather B30 were $268. It sold out like mad!!😂
I think everyone in the last 30 years has become ‘collectors’. In the boomer generation, it was pretty much a shoe phenomenon. Since, the year 2000, it seems to be anything and everything.
Most of us who live in the real world will ever come close to a real Birkin. It is just fun to buy a Wirkin. The colors are fun. It is a functional style that would be really usable.
I'd absolutely buy a Wirkin, except I'm in the UK so not an option. I had a Lily & Bean mini Kelly dupe but it was too small for me so I didn't use it. I'm never going to be able to afford a Birkin so Hermes aren't losing out.

Tbh there are well-known designers who are ripping off other brand's designs and take a lot of money for it. See Tory Burch: she has a whole range of bags that are clearly 'inspired' by Chanel and recently released sandals that are obviously meant to be a Hermès Chypre dupe. What I really wonder is how those ripped off brand respond to those designs being 'repurposed'. Clearly they can't be happy? I do wonder what Hermès is making of the Walmart Birkin, too.
The Walmart version classes as a copy not a fake or counterfeit. A counterfeit is when it’s an exact replica with all logos and hidden features intact and sold as the item it’s pertaining to be. In this context, the ‘Walkin’ is a copy. A copy is a replica without the logos and extras and is not sold as a Birkin. If we had Walmart in the UK, I’d 100% buy one.
I think fakes are great, as long as you’re not “duped” into paying the designer price. Although anyone who pays thousands for a damn purse deserves what they get lol
I have a few designer bags but lately I’m having a change of heart. I think I should get back to my old self when I used to save and invest in real estate. All you young people out there, please save your money and invest it in real estate. I spent $200k in real estate on two properties and now they are worth close to two million. This advice is from a lady in her 50s and living in Hawaii.
On the Walmart site the pink 25 bag is $188.88. It’s not sold by Walmart, but by some other company, where Walmart is acting as a platform ( like Amazon). The description is full of grammar mistakes. It also uses three different words in different places to describe the leather: genuine, synthetic, vegan. I guess people buy it without reading the full description. 😢if not for the description I might’ve been curious enough to buy it.
I wouldn’t buy one because I appreciate quality and have the funds to buy something with better quality at a higher price point. Maybe not Hermes (maybe one day) but there’s a whole spectrum of unique designs and quality leather and craftsmanship in between the Wirkin and the Birkin. I’d rather have an original (preloved or new) in my price bracket rather than a cheap Hermes dupe. But no shade to those that love dupes. It’s personal preference. My favourite workhorse day bag is my Loewe medium puzzle. Easy to get in and out of, secure, IYKYK, cool design, handy back pocket, top handle and a comfy shoulder strap. I think the only way I could see myself buying one is if I had the money for the real thing, but wanted to try out the design first.

Good quality versions of the Birkin have been kicking around for a long time and will continue to. I got one from Teddy Blake back when they used to have them. It was real leather and well made and the beauty of it is I got to test the style out before committing to buying a real Birkin (which I do now have). I was also able to use it without being worried about bumps or scratches. These bags serve a great function in letting us scratch an itch until the hype has worn off or test a bags suitability.

Yes, these are great - I have a few of them. Size 25 in light pink and gray and size 30 in black. It’s real leather and I paid something like $65 + tax. I can’t afford the actual Hermes one…but these are nice!

I love Teddy Blake because the quality and workmanship of the leather is beautiful. I can’t imagine for $80 the quality of this bag would be that great.
Back in October 2024, I purchased 3 one in Kelly Green and when I received i I was impressed with the quality - and the shipping was super fast- so I then purchased a black version for every day use. Mine did not have the cross body strap option, so I then purchased the smallest sz in light pink and the small pink has a cross body option which is nice. I also do have 2 actual Birkins I purchased back in 2003 - I was invited to be on the list and then waited for 2 years to purchase- I do enjoy having the Walmart versions for the very reason that these days I don’t want to run around town sporting a bag that now sells for around $15k to $20k and for everyday use the Workins I have are nice looking-I bought the real leather versions - and functional. I did go on line and ordered real leather straps to convert to a cross body style. And the straps matched the black leather of the Workin one I have beautifully. All in all its is a good option for many of the reasons you state in your video. After all, we should all wear what we love for whatever the reason. Also, let’s not forget that for hundreds of years women of substantial means have had replicas of their fine expensive jewelry made for travel purposes, etc. Having a Workin also serves a similar purpose.

I rather buy a bag from a brand that adds their own design elements to the style of bag. It’s totally fine for Coach to make their own quality version of the Margaux or Birkin by integrating their leathers and house codes, but I don’t understand wanting to have something that’s an inferior copy of the real thing. Who are you fooling? There’s so many good mid-range and affordable brands out there with super cute designs!

I would never buy a true fake with a fake label. I own several semi-duplicates. There is zero possibility of anyone on the secondary market mistakenly buying one of my dupes thinking it is an Hermes bag. The shoulder strap makes it even less likely to be mistaken for an original. I would like a WalMart 'Birkin' but we don't have Walmart her in Australia. The luxury houses will take years to recover from the Dior scandal and the shameful greed of the excessive price rises. I don't mind paying extra for a luxury label, but only within proportion. And that does not even apply to Hermes bags because if I had the purchase price, the company would be unlikely to sell it to me. Thank you for the video!

There's (for me) a huge difference between dupes and fakes! A fake is a copy trying to look exactly like the original, a dupe is more "inspired by" and there are obvious points of difference.
I have one bag that could be called a dupe, it's the Pourchet Trianon and is similar to the Fendi Peekaboo. It has a turn lock (only on one side, the other is a snap closure), it has a similar shape, top handle and the two compartments. It has the stitching detail that some Peekaboos have. But the turn lock is quite different, and it doesn't have the snap closure at the sides that enable the Peekaboo to smile.
For me, the Kelly, Capucines and the Peekaboo all have a similar vibe, but without being identical, and back in the day there would have been hundreds of bags with the same basic shape. My Trianon is a good quality bag, at a reasonable price and I take it everywhere with few worries (it's not the most secure bag with just a turn lock, so that gets taken into account), will I upgrade to a Peekaboo at some point? Possibly, but only after I get my hands on a Fendi Baguette!
PS: My understanding (I have no training in law, so don't relay on me!) is that there has to be a certain number of differences in fashion items to avoid prosecution for infringement. The inclusion of a shoulder strap and grommets would help Walmart to avoid problems.

As someone who is very particular with smell,dupes like this usually have a funky, chemical smell on them. There's even funky smelling LV canvas pieces(my Felicie Pochette I got at LV Frankfurt 😢) that I have to let go of. I saw someone opened his Wirkin,he said it smell faintly of leather then that plasticky smell you get from cheaper materials. I'm not an Hermes fan,but guys don't let this fool you. There is a difference in dupes and fakes that more than meets the eye. Don't believe the 100%genuine leather tag all the time. It all looks good in vids and pics until you hold that thing or after a few weeks,months using it. It's a terrible feeling a fake bag falling off on you after that initial feeling of elation that you got a good deal. I have my Speedy B25 canvas i got in Vegas that's made in US that the vachetta leather smells sooo good your nose can tell it's luxury. But if you're not very particular of these things, you do you.
From watching these videos on the Wirkin - I am tempted to get a dupe of this bag and other Hermes bags as I am not sure the style of bags would work for me. The ultimate goal would be to have a birkin or a kelly.

I think purchasing the Walmart version is a nice way to see if you truly would like to possibly invest in a Birkin. Plus it’s not a fake which makes it even better. Thanks Amelia for doing this video. I have never got on the TT train, I wondered what this was all about. I am definitely one of those people who feel if I have that kind of money for a bag, I should be able to walk in and purchase it. Therefor Hermes will never get any of my money. Even though I like some of their household items, it’s the principal of it. Won’t shop there. I am probably rare in that I am not a fan of that style so I won’t be purchasing the Walmart version. There’s alway been Birkin and Kelly dupes for example lily and bean and toteluxe ! I think if you think you’d like it but not 100% sure you can buy a dupe before dropping 20k on the resale market ❤

I think it's hilarious that there are now going to be thousands of people just running around shopping for groceries with what looks like a Birkin from a distance. And I think it's hilarious that some people are mad about it. Like if you genuinely love the design and how the Birkin is made, you won't mind. Obviously the original quality is still far superior and some think this alone is worth it. This makes sense. But if you just like it because it's exclusive, yeah, you will be mad. This situation shows how silly a reason is to overpay thousands of dollars just for exclusivity, when it can be so easily shattered.

While I appreciate the artisan craftsmanship and quality of the genuine Hermes bag, a real leather dupe that look so close to the real deal and cost only $78, it tells you how much markup you are paying for the name. At the end of the day, it’s just a bag.

My dream bag has always been a Birkin 40… I have to admit that I bought a pretty good replica online and after using for a couple of days I just realized that it’s not for me. It just doesn’t go with my lifestyle nor my everyday clothes, I’m always using gym clothes. I can’t justify wearing a Birkin with gym clothes, it looks ridiculous.
I just stopped thinking about it and moved on to other bags that do fit into my lifestyle.
Coach and Longchamp are more my style and I can afford buying authentics 😂

Tbh there are well-known designers who are ripping off other brand's designs and take a lot of money for it. See Tory Burch: she has a whole range of bags that are clearly 'inspired' by Chanel and recently released sandals that are obviously meant to be a Hermès Chypre dupe. What I really wonder is how those ripped off brand respond to those designs being 'repurposed'. Clearly they can't be happy? I do wonder what Hermès is making of the Walmart Birkin, too.

The Walmart version classes as a copy not a fake or counterfeit. A counterfeit is when it’s an exact replica with all logos and hidden features intact and sold as the item it’s pertaining to be. In this context, the ‘Walkin’ is a copy. A copy is a replica without the logos and extras and is not sold as a Birkin. If we had Walmart in the UK, I’d 100% buy one.

On the Walmart site the pink 25 bag is $188.88. It’s not sold by Walmart, but by some other company, where Walmart is acting as a platform ( like Amazon). The description is full of grammar mistakes. It also uses three different words in different places to describe the leather: genuine, synthetic, vegan. I guess people buy it without reading the full description. 😢if not for the description I might’ve been curious enough to buy it.

I wouldn’t buy one because I appreciate quality and have the funds to buy something with better quality at a higher price point. Maybe not Hermes (maybe one day) but there’s a whole spectrum of unique designs and quality leather and craftsmanship in between the Wirkin and the Birkin. I’d rather have an original (preloved or new) in my price bracket rather than a cheap Hermes dupe. But no shade to those that love dupes. It’s personal preference.
My favourite workhorse day bag is my Loewe medium puzzle. Easy to get in and out of, secure, IYKYK, cool design, handy back pocket, top handle and a comfy shoulder strap.
I think the only way I could see myself buying one is if I had the money for the real thing, but wanted to try out the design first.
