I remember having to hike into bingin , padang and uluwatu. Just farmland. Never any huge crowds and plenty of waves.

Actually, I am thinking of Maui, especially Lahaina, where I stayed in 2008. It's such a beautiful place, so sad, including the old monster tree in the town centre near the wharf. God bless Maui 😢

It's kind of wrong that Bali's premiere break gets shut down for a whole month just for a competition. I envy the guys who get to surf in the comp. Outside of that month it's a complete shit show - just like all of Bali.
