This brought a massive smile to my face. Mine is sitting in storage in Lytham St Anne's but I will be having it shipped over to me in Singapore later this year. Learning lots from your videos. Please keep up the good work. And Happy Birthday 🎉
Apologies, Neil. My first reply didn't come through. I was referring to my 1985 Lotus Excel which is sitting in storage in Lytham. Bought sight unseen on eBay in Aug 2022 while I was in hotel quarantine and finally got around to visiting early last year. Didn't get to spend much time looking her over as I managed to cut my index finger trying to prise the door open as the drivers door handle is missing, and spent the afternoon getting stitches in Preston hospital. 🙄
@@alfaromeoalfettarestoratio7817 I grew up in the same area Neil, a small town called Haslingden. Good luck with the car and feel free to ping me if you need any advice with anything, cheers!
Well done but double check that accelerator cable. I had an Excel SA several years ago and nearly had an accident when on a test run to check the kick down was working I pushed the accelerator all the way to the floor and it stuck down. I managed to get my toe under the pedal and prise it back up again but it was a very scary few seconds while at full throttle with the speed building rapidly I frantically worked my foot to find a place to lever the pedal up.
As a teenager riding a motor bike under age I was advised by a traffic policeman that for the road traffic act not to apply to a private road it needs to be gated! Perhaps he was just trying to frighten me.
Well done Neil - Respect.
Thanks Oliver.
Excellent to see the Excel running, love these cars. Happy Birthday too
Thanks a lot mate.

Ironic you say that Dave, as a couple of the neighbour's teenagers ride mini motorbikes up and down this street 🙂
