- The Feud between Derrick Barry & India Ferrah ended up being a pretty vital storyline for the premiere episode of All Stars 5. Yet despite this I hadn't really seen a video that explained the full situation, so I decided to go ahead and put this video together. Also may I just say that Alexis Mateo is an icon for the line 'this is why derrick don't like you' bring her back to an all-winners season thank you.

I've often felt the producers of All-Stars 5 sorta shot themselves in the foot when they thought it'd be a good idea to have Derrick Barry of all people be the first out. Not only does she make terrific TV with her confessionals and character, but they had a storyline drop right in their laps with the whole India Ferrah thing. That could've been one of the big storylines of the season, yet they threw it out the window by somehow choosing to have Derrick be sniped out first.
The season wasn't the best but D(err)ick not going home first would make it unwatchable.
I, for one, was relieved when she left

I feel bad for her getting made fun of, too, but let's be real: Dancing isn't her calling. Maybe if she explored other ways to perform in drag, or took dance lessons (if she hasn't already), she'd be able to express her passion for dance better. Here's some tea- I have friends who work on the show (im in weho) and they told me a lot of the times they cast someone on all stars because they're going through a rough patch in life and they need a boost. India was one of those "pity castings"

I love that Nebraska exists just to intensify drama. I don’t think she’s a bad person but wants to play villain sometimes. Somehow it reveals more about other people than it does herself.

I think the show explained the situation best: India asked Alexis about who she voted for AFTER she had voted for Shea. While Mayhem and Alexis voted for Shea, it was never a conspiracy between them, it was just India asking how her fellow queens voted AFTER they cast their votes. India turning it into a “movement against Shea” was wholly inaccurate. She can see it as a movement, but it wasn’t. It was an exit poll. But the episode had the most contentious voting, as it is the only episode with 3 queens who received votes.
India exploited it, and all she really did was hurt Alexis’ chance to reach the Final 4, as opposed to saving herself from elimination.
Alexis was THAT girl to me in AS5
And the fact Alexis lost the top 4 to BLAIR ST CLAIR because of India will never sit right with me
India Ferrah was fighting for gay rights and Derrick just found out she didn’t die at Stonewall.
India has such an interesting presences in the cannon of the show to me, like she went from being one of the most forgotten queens from the early seasons who was only every really remembered for getting assaulted on stage, to a joke, that no one really likes, tbh I blame her weird slavery rant!

If you listen closely when India first talks to Shea about Alexis you can hear her fudge her words a bit and say “Alexis came to me and asked me d- to pick your lipstick” she was gonna say “did you pick her lipstick”. Alexis didn’t talk to them about the situation until AFTER voting had happened. India just wanted to turn dust into lemonade and got burned. She asked for it.

Wherein the judges eliminate all queens that placed below high and replace them with new queens next week, giving us only 1 or 2 weeks with most queens. The winner will be who lasts the most weeks
When I first saw the "you are a liar" clip I didn't know who Derrick was and assumed that it was Alexis and I cackeled

I love your breakdowns because I feel like you’re revealing WoW for the toxic workplace it genuinely is. It’s like production sent Derrick home because she’s willing to tell the truth or at least be more honest when she’s throwing shade, while India had non-apologies and was more willing to “play the game” with the Ru “family.” Lying about Alexis in particular feels really scummy, and it seems clear India doesn’t gaf if she comes off like a lying bigot.

I kinda get why India felt the way she did. Pageant queens used to be under a lot of pressure.
To be respected in the pageant circle they had to follow rules, looked a certain way. I can imagine how frustrating it could be for her seeing other queens not following the same rules and having a lot of success.
That being said I think she’s wrong for not celebrating that all forms of drag are valid.
She also needs to stop victimizing herself. She gives her opinion and makes snarky comments but she expects other queens to stay silent and agree with her.

I know you said don't crucify no one involved but, India Farrah is literally one of those girls who can dish but the moment you dish back she is under attack every time people called her out, she went on the defensive, she never once took a second to see why her word choice on the Juneteenth post was problematic. instead, she doubled down and said everyone was bullying her, when in reality she was being insensitive. On top of that she went after derrick berry when BOB made fun of the quote Alexis made. and India's husband I'm happy he stands by her but at some point, you got to see that your spouse is wrong sometimes and tell them that their wrong. there's nothing wrong with telling a loved one when they're wrong but doubling down with them on bullying accusations. where there is no actual justification isn't helpful to the damn conversation. And even when Nebraska called out what she said India went back on the attack. at this point i could care less if she joins back into the community or social media because she always has something negative to say. But that's just from my perspective as a viewer on the outside of her mind, i don't know what goes through her mind I wish her well but as stated could care less if she were to get back into the community.

I feel like India Farrah was onto something with her critique of Drag Race. The producers’ first goal, especially in early seasons, was to make good TV, not necessarily uplift the queens.
