In theory, high inflation will self correct. Prices get too high and people buy less. Demand lowers and brings inflation lower. Deflation is a total death spiral. Can’t self correct without some type of external fix.
moderate inflation is more stable than deflation. High inflation often requires stronger measures and shock so its undesirable but still self correcting.
deflation is part of inflation correction, so u talk so much but end up shooting yourself on your foot. Deflation number is used to compare prices just last year. If in 2020 to 2022 price surge 100%, then it make sense for price to deflate down by staggering 40% in 2025 to match the 5 years normal annual 2% growth from 2020-2025. A good example is that a $1 packet chip in 2020 went up to $2 in 2022, but when it deflate back to $1.20 in 2025, people complain how bad the deflation was but conveniently forget the chip in 2025 is still 20% more expensive than in 2020. MSM and ppl like you only focus on the deflation as compared to last year, but forget how much inflation went in the period of 3 years before that. Wake up please.

"Hundreds of Millions" is stretching things by about a magnitude if you are referring to Covid, but yeah a lot died because of Covid and even more, perhaps, from the reaction to Covid rather than the disease, itself. Frankly, the debate is whether more died from COVID-19, or from the CCP reaction to it. I get what you are saying. Economically, the deaths of old people in China because of Covid actually may have helped China: One, money and savings got released to the younger generation and thus back into the economy. Two, After burial, they were no longer a burden on their kids. That may seem harsh, but... I was actually surprised that the CCP didn't pick up on the idea that killing old people would save money. Maybe because they are old. In any case, that wealth no sooner hit the hands of the heirs than it was wiped out by the subsequent implosion of the Reall Estate Ponzi scheme via Evergrande, Country Gardens, etc., neverminding the Chabuduo BRI initiative and the debt from high-speed rail, which dwarves Evergrande and Country Gardens combined. The US is not suffering economically and is enjoying one of the strongest jobs market in our history with unemployment at a very low 3.1% right now.The NYSE is also enjoying one of the most gainful of times with the S&P 500 and Dow Jones both showing continuous strong gains. That said, I feel a real problem currently in the US is higher food prices. Since the pandemic ended markets and restaurants refuse to lower their prices. Ever thought these places are empty and deserted due to the Chinese people flocking overseas to celebrate the Chinese New Year there as tourists instead?😂😂😂
You got it right. But people on this channel don't know anything about the real China.
Nowadays the people can buy anything online which is cheaper than retail stores so I’m not surprised people are saving all they can during the slowdown by buying online instead.
where do you think the online product came from ?
So sad for the people stuffing Poverty.
Communism is hell.
What are you talking about? 300 million make $1 more per year and are out of poverty!

Capitalism has sucked the happiness out of human life.
The youth are being urged to return to the country.the last generation made great strides evolving into businessmen and women who were able to afford the good things in life.the generation before that lived in the countryside but had hard lives due to all of the manual labor.now people are expected to take a step back in society in order to put food in their stomach.
They are all in Sydney clearly
You spot it on! Most rich Communist Party Officials and their families are shopping around for luxurious goods are in different western countries, unmindful of the sufferings of their fellow Chinese in Mainland China.
Many Western companies left China. Lots of jobless people.
And that is not true. without trade with China the people in the US would not be able to survive, they cannot afford to produce what they can buy for less from China including car parts, computer and cell phones, clothing, etc. get informed.
Looks like a mall in America.
This is the best comedy channel. The CCP really are hilarious with how they predicted they would be the no.1 superpower in 2025
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The posting is very interesting. Thank you for making the video .
After living through 2 major down turn[1980 and 2008] and a couple of smaller one my advice . Do not give up and try to charge forward . No matter what you hear or see . This will work its way out but could take years . The best thing which sounds cruel is let everything collapes . Or get the 30 years Japan solution . After the correction in housing and other over price items , the rebound will be much quicker . It is tough love but helping each other out and things will improve . The high was great but the cold turkey is hell . It may get worse so hang in there . Thanks China Observer .
Feel sorry for the common people especially the children
This is going to be very interesting to see how the CCP handles this economic situation.
They will handle any way they want, the entire population is brainwashed and compliant.
Vanity destroys in real-time. Humility with your wealth is outdated. Greed and vanity wins. Karma has no timeline .
YOU HAVE NOT CHECKED OUT SAMS CLUB or COSTCO in CHINA - THEY ARE PACKED WITH PEOPLE BUYING BULK & IN MANY CASES RESELLING THE GOODS TO LOCALS IN THEIR VILLAGE or ONLINE

our governements put more into the visual of their status quo than into its people - USA
That's what you get from your selfish leader!

Amazing reporting
Low price fruits and vegetables... Nobody can afford to buy them... Sounds like a depression has hit.
Mortgages too high, consuming majority of monthly income. So sad.high home prices is not good for younger generations.
You mean the Chinese millionaires are now thousandnaires...haahaahaaa. Welcome to the club. That woman crying over inability to buy fireworks is crazy.
So many people are disconnected from reality. Forever in their own world..
If you were an 18yo chinese boy from a very poor family, what could you reasonably do to become rich?
@DrMindbender-wi1gq not even advance to middle class?
Become a CCP party member
@@stevenphillips3466 Would that really solve it? Simply becoming a CCP member? I am speaking from experience that where I am from this does not happen, you pay the membership dues but never get anything back as you are not from an important family.
isnt it because people are buying online, off store
Since 99% of the products are fake/counterfeit anyway, maybe the Chinese are smart not to spend anything on it 😂
Yes. this a good point too!!
completely false
China is a country built on LIES.
I'd also be concerned about where the food supply chains are sourcing their products. What an incredibly stressful way to live, when you can't even trust the food & grocery options available because of gutter oils and counterfeit food productions.
With disgusting gutter oil to cook foods in I would never eat anything prepared by anyone else in China. They do not give a shit.
What goes up will come down
Communism, there it is
In theory, high inflation will self correct. Prices get too high and people buy less. Demand lowers and brings inflation lower.
Deflation is a total death spiral. Can’t self correct without some type of external fix.
moderate inflation is more stable than deflation. High inflation often requires stronger measures and shock so its undesirable but still self correcting.
Deflation is not that hard to solve. Government spending !
deflation is part of inflation correction, so u talk so much but end up shooting yourself on your foot.
@@FrenchTutorials Took Japan 25+ years. It's pretty hard.

I’m Filipino, empathy goes a long way buddy. The normal everyday Chinese people have nothing to do what the government/CCP does.

People are surviving.
arent stores supposed to be closed during CNY anyway?
The lead up to CNY is usually hyped and lots of sales for people to buy things to bring home to the family.
Imagine a scenario where a disease and/or the treatment reduced the population substantially. What you see here would be part of the outcome.
Really! Does China expect their economy to be good all the time?
No, because it doesn’t have a federal reserve to print money and bailout banks and businesses every 4ish years.
@xDDufiosy you should look into chinese currency control. They certainly print cash. They also say a yuan is worth X and it's worth that number regardless of actual economy. CCP economy is completely centrally planned.
Deflation ISN'T a risk. It's the solution to social stress, but the end of Government's do to currency destruction
There’s also the issue of people who died in the hundreds of millions for the last 2-3 years. They’re no longer consumers in this world. The CCP is not going to say that.
Hundreds of millions ?? Where ?
@@bill3641 Covid.
They will just keep on lying .GDP is high .no countries can beat them in term of business
Everything start to fall apart.from manufacturing to construction to office .to the military when they dnt have salary .they are going to burst soon with deflation eating everything
The CCP is like a crazy rich widow who, after her husband dies, thinks she still has money in the bank because there are still blank checks in her checkbook. Except Xi is like such a widow with a gun who shoots people who tell him he has no more money.
I think everyone realizes what is coming.
No food shortages in china. There are lots of bats still there.
Especially around wuhan !
Chicken of the cave…
They shouldn't have messed up with russia, now be prepared to face the consequence.
Closed my Aliexpress account a year ago and will never buy anything from them anymore. Cheers
omg Aliexpress sucks the customer care kept flirting with me while I was telling them I didn't get what I ordered! I never wanted to slap a bitch so bad in my life 😅
Live moderately always no matter the state of the economy. The average person who gets a raise will modify their lifestyle to correlate with a now higher salary. Not me. To me, a raise, more income, only means more money that I can save😊
Hopefully the bank will let you withdraw it when you want or need. Doesn't always happen these days in China, with banks freezing peoples' accounts and even misappropriating (read stealing) citizens' savings with no accountability.
Same. Last year I got a pretty major raise (more or less a market adjustment because so many people were leaving the company lol) to the tune of like $8-10k extra per year and I ended up just putting it in a CD at the end o the year.
And more economic deflation if everyone follows your advice. This is no different than billionaires hording wealth and keeping it in their banks. Good job you became part of the problem.
I stuff my mattress with my cash I got over 10k$ not like it will be worth much if the economy collapses
Meanwhile TEMU does all it can to attract more buyers for cheap products while getting more data it needs to dominate and sell.

Their officials squandered all their money. Hey just like U.S.A. really
New pipeline s gas oil from Russia coming on stream to China 40 years contract?
The main difference is that there wasn't any real money to squander. From products to homes to academia China has built all of modern China on counterfeit and knock offs.
While U.S. and China are suffering economically, India is having the time of their lives.
Wrong. Another problem is Gen Z’ers don’t want to work and Millenials will work BUT want to dictate when they’ll work and for how long each day.
Would love to hear honest street thoughts on this.... annonymous

Perhaps the Chinese have simply had enough of buying their own garbage?
Less money circulating in the market is what happens when 1% hoard the majoring of wealth, without safeguards for the working class.
We need Socialism NOW!
But that's impossible. China is a communist country. Everybody has equal wealth! LOL.
When big governments with a few people in power hoard the nation's wealth and stifle the markets with stupid policies and restrictions, everyone gets poorer.
The Chinese experienced wars and famine and generations of family have learned the concept of emergency savings. A lot of Chinese have savings but not enough disposables income to warrant the type of spending as in years past. To say the Chinese is poor is wrong, they just do not want to spend in an economic downturn and real estate crisis.
Can’t keep stealing from the middle class and not expect this
Well, if you have Walmarts like in the US you can go into one on a Tuesday night at 11pm and it will be crowded with people filling their carts!
