It's evident that the wealth transfer to the top is felt everywhere in the world. So many NORMAL people are losing their income and homes while multinational corporations are making record billions in profit.

Don't worry. If huge corporations don't have any customers, what do you think happens to a company without profits. Yes, that's correct. They go bankrupt. All these elitists who want to cut the population are going to regret what they wished.

I was looking for this comment as well. This is 100% because of corporate greed. As consumers our power is in choice. Always compare the market and make sure you spend only on whats fair. So many people never challenge their banks or utility companies.

What is happening to China is NOT normal economic cycles.
NORMALLY -- deflation will lead to increased consumption, which stops the deflation.
UNLESS -- the deflation is caused by the collapse of the system.
    That is what is happening.
    industries have shut down.
    Unemployment is massive.
When people have NO MONEY -- it doesn't matter how low prices go ---
    they cannot buy.
    Prices continue to drop.
Re-orders stop - production declines even further ---
unemployment increases -- more people without money ---
    Purchases reduce further.
China has not hit bottom -- YET.

Greed has a way of being dealt with by Karma. Greed causes suffering to others so while your greed makes you go up, others must suffer for it. Karma has a way of returning the balance to those on both sides of the imbalance.
Remember this, being rich doesn't make you a better person if you can not share the wealth. How many people do you know that got rich, did so with causing suffering to others? The higher you go up on others' shoulders, the greater the pain will be when you come crashing back down.

LOL! Yeah, in my hometown of Hadley, MA, USA, we had the "Old" Mountain Farms Mall and the "New" Hampshire Mall was built literally across the street. The "Old Mall" (after Almy's, Zaires, went bankrupt) converted itself into a front-facing Plaza with huge super-stores and it was the New Mall that died. This was back in the 1980s! Both 'malls' are alive and well and despite predictions, remaking themselves over and over again as they compete.
That is what you don't get: We adapt. You merely copy adaption. We are forced to adapt or die, you are prevented from adaption and die either way.

When most of the stores in these gigantic malls are OWNED or LEASED (rarely rented) by fly-by-night RESELLERS selling the same inferior-quality knockoffs anyone can buy cheaper from online retailers selling exactly the same stuff, why bother with the big shiny mall. There’s a reason China has never been able to replicate the success of malls in the west: China has very few successful brands that can sustain a CHAIN of franchise stores across the country, as we can in the west. There’s no brand loyalty built up over decades, even built up over a century, so Chinese malls are basically nothing more than street bazaars full of hucksters and hustlers, only in a setting that mimics western-style malls but doesn’t come close to providing the same experience.

deflation is part of inflation correction, so u talk so much but end up shooting yourself on your foot. Deflation number is used to compare prices just last year. If in 2020 to 2022 price surge 100%, then it make sense for price to deflate down by staggering 40% in 2025 to match the 5 years normal annual 2% growth from 2020-2025.
A good example is that a $1 packet chip in 2020 went up to $2 in 2022, but when it deflate back to $1.20 in 2025, people complain how bad the deflation was but conveniently forget the chip in 2025 is still 20% more expensive than in 2020.

"Hundreds of Millions" is stretching things by about a magnitude if you are referring to Covid, but yeah a lot died because of Covid and even more, perhaps, from the reaction to Covid rather than the disease, itself. Frankly, the debate is whether more died from COVID-19, or from the CCP reaction to it.
I get what you are saying.
Economically, the deaths of old people in China because of Covid actually may have helped China: One, money and savings got released to the younger generation and thus back into the economy. Two, After burial, they were no longer a burden on their kids. That may seem harsh, but... I was actually surprised that the CCP didn't pick up on the idea that killing old people would save money. Maybe because they are old.
In any case, that wealth no sooner hit the hands of the heirs than it was wiped out by the subsequent implosion of the Reall Estate Ponzi scheme via Evergrande, Country Gardens, etc., neverminding the Chabuduo BRI initiative and the debt from high-speed rail, which dwarves Evergrande and Country Gardens combined.
The CCP is like a crazy rich widow who, after her husband dies, thinks she still has money in the bank because there are still blank checks in her checkbook. Except Xi is like such a widow with a gun who shoots people who tell him he has no more money.

The Chinese experienced wars and famine and generations of family have learned the concept of emergency savings. A lot of Chinese have savings but not enough disposables income to warrant the type of spending as in years past. To say the Chinese is poor is wrong, they just do not want to spend in an economic downturn and real estate crisis.
