Pain in the rib cage after surgery is common, it can be air or fluid. Good thing you called and had it looked at. Yes, pneumothorax can be very very painful. So good to know you're feeling better.
Escape From NY I had no idea how painful is was. The doctor said there's only been one other case written on a pneumo thorax during a robot assisted radical prostatectomy. I told him now he can publish another paper on this! The pain has mostly gone but I can still feel it sloshing around when I lie on my side. Healing is slow but progress is daily!
So glad to hear it was contained & fully removed! Prayers for a speedy recovery.
