Watching Chinese dramas, I always thought their hairstyles were so beautiful but they look so intricate it's intimidating to try to recreate. Would love to see more of these tutorials! Really love this video idea 😊
I do have to comment though, there might not be a lot of (if any) traditional hairstyles for short hair, because traditionally people were supposed to grow their hair long. Thin hair might have been a thing, but ancient Chinese would just use hair add ons so.....
I would love to see more Chinese inspired videos ! and also an explanation of how you tied that big ribbon into a super pretty bow, you kind of showed it but I guess my mind is to slow to understand it without explanations haha
Thank you so much for this! I will soon be working on a project that will require wearing some beautiful hanfu and actually doing more with one of my wigs than letting the water push it around. lol. As someone whose real hair is baby-fine and always falling out, I've never been able to do much with it (and have never bothered learning because it always looks ridiculous aaaahhh). So the idea of styling this wig has me in a panic! But you've given me some really good ideas for the project - so thank you! ✨
anyone else having throwback vibes from her first hanfu get ready with me?? 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️ i remember that was the video that made me absolutely fall in love with mei, and it’s honestly so amazing to see her have grown so much from then. LOVED all of these hairstyles and will have to give them a try! thank you for all of your hard work creating these 💕💕
i love the mid-autumn festival and i've always really found hanfu fashion and especially hairstyles rly beautiful !! i love how you talked about the differences that made each of them more mature or youthful!!
OMG YES MEI !!! 💖✨✨ I'm so grateful you did this tutorial -- I'm also a huge fan of the hanfu movement and using traditional chinese fashion in modern, everyday ways. I've always found that these hairstyles have always been a bit intimidating to try out - but thank you for breaking them down in such approachable ways!! Super excited to continue this journey with you to feeling like a princess (!!) & to see more content like this!!
Hair pins were actually invented in 3000-4000 B.C.! They were definitely not as efficient and convenient as bobby pins, but they were very very beautiful and could be intricately woven into hair, as many of them were one long prong.
historically speaking people usually used thread of similar color as their hair to stitch the hair in place but pins existed too.. just not like the ones we use now, they had a bit different shape and were used in a different way than you do with bobby pins.
omg im new here, like recently subscribed in the past month and idk why i just assumed you spoke mandarin, so when you spoke cantonese my mouth dropped thank you for the tutorials and other hairstyles! they are so pretty and make things som much easier!
Thank you so much for making this video!! You don’t know how much it means to me, as a Chinese person, to see my culture being represented and appreciated 🥺❤️❤️❤️❤️
omg omg YES I've always wanted to see more of these types of videos too~~ ive been on chinese tik tok and whenver I see girls in hanfu it makes me wanna wear one too😩 eventhough im chinese I dont think ive ever gotten a chanve to try wearing one idk if you put links to where you've gotten your hanfus but ill check! thanks for sharing with us!
Mei is so hard on herself >_< Working with long hair can be so difficult but the hairstyles turned out awesome and I love how clearly she explained everything! Would love to see more hanfu related content! They're just so beautiful and soft-looking D':
I doubt that ur gonna see my comment, but if do I wanna say this is so helpful , I’m making a school project in China fashion and hairstyles is one of my sub topics! This hair tutorial is so helpful tysm!
I'm totally obsessed with the Chinese suits from Love Nikki and seeing this type of hairstyles in real life is amazing! They are so gorgeous, you really look like a Moon Godess omg I love this so much!!
Would love to see more Chinese inspired videos either its makeup hairstyle or fashion. Esp fashion like how to incorporate traditional elements in everyday fashion
I like this video so much! I love hanfu but have trouble thinking about what hairstyle to go with it. The part at the end I can definetly relate to; once I also wore this Tang Dynasty based hanfu (skirt starts from the chest) and it kept falling off like crazy!
cool, I'm watching on 1st october 😄 as an artist I love to watch hair tutorials to understand how hair works in complicated hairstyles and help me build the shape better, and I feel so inspired to draw a character with one of these or similar hairstyles now!
Oh gosh! I finally found the perfect tutorial to help with my Jiang Yanli cosplay from Mo Dao Zu Shi! Instantly subscribing to you! Thank you soooooo much for the help!
Anyone else notice shes NATURALLY amazing at this? It's way harder when you actually try it... I wish she was my personal hair stylist- come do my hair queen
You look like a really pretty lead actress from a Chinese romance drama tv series such as Till the End of the Moon or The Journey of Chongzi ! You could be a five tailed Fox Spirit !

hi mei, could you show us some 中秋 hairstyles for thin or short hair please? loved this video, the hairstyles are so pretty..
I second this! My hair isn't long enough to make anything more than tiny dumplings on my head but i want to do all these styles lmao
My hair is only like breast length when it’s straightened so I would also like to see one for shorter hair.
I do have to comment though, there might not be a lot of (if any) traditional hairstyles for short hair, because traditionally people were supposed to grow their hair long. Thin hair might have been a thing, but ancient Chinese would just use hair add ons so.....

@MARJONA NIZOMITDINOVA u misread the comment lol you're too young for yotube

Im just wondering what they used to secure the hair back then..probably not bobby pins :D
The shape is like a chopstick, like a long needles and just stab it in the buns and there would be Accessories that hangs on.
These are gorgeous! I would love to see more of these, I recently started wearing hanfu and could use some inspiration for hairstyles ♥
