Thanks for your video's, especially this one. I listened yesterday, got an appointment with a DBT therapist, today. It's amazing what I found out! I've been Me, my entire life. I was today years old, when I found out I don't know how to grieve. Good news, I'm well on my way to learning. I have another therapy session next week & begin DBT shortly afterwards. Thanks again Doc Snipes, for your videos. I told my therapist today, it was your videos that encouraged me to take this step 💝
Thank you for these videos full of information. Your openness to all perspectives, and lack of judgment on the matter, as well as real, sound advice for growth, and self care is astoundingly rare in the world right now. I applaud your approach and explanation for differing levels mental health, emotional maturity and regulation, as well as including the environmental impact, and acceptance of the response as the path of least resistance based on the subjects experiences... So hard for the general public to understand and accept.. Peo
31:01 is about where the info starts for self help. The video in it's entirety can help someone looking for more knowledge to help you better understand yourself if you have the capacity and time to do so.
I listened to this and then made my friend listen to this cuz we can't afford therapy right now, I feel like I learned more in an hour than in a day. Thanks for saving us
this whole podcast helped me understand what is DBT and memorize techniques and coping skills. Just like that. For free and just in 2-3 days Thank you so much
'Work smarted not harder.' THANK YOU. I've gotten too many people say to work harder when I was already giving it my all. Then I was OVER doing and miserable because of it. Only to be told to work harder when I went for help. If I would have had DBT skills at that time it would have helped so much. It's not just about how hard you work it's about having the proper skills to help yourself.
Absolutely best RUclips video I have ever seen on this topic. So incredibly helpful and on target. A total prescription for helping anyone using these skills. And that would be all of us 💗
Yeessss! The hypervigilence i developed has immobilized me. For 58 yrs i went through trauma after trauma. I havent seen baseline since before i was born. Truth.

Wow! I am not even half way through this but I love this educational format. I have been struggling all my life with off -and on depression, anxiety and Physical manifestations of the two. But also I am often joyful, hopeful and excited when seemingly “good” things happen to me. I have tried many things to “cure” my issues but this is the first time I have dug into the HSP topic and it explains me to a tee. I really hope that these technics will be the long term solution I am looking for!

Truth doesn't change. Me perception and understanding if truth can change. When I see person x, in one condition I define the person as 1. Hello, thank you for this informative session. One question if you please, in the case of a triggering situation, do we use emotion regulation skills first or distress tolerance skills? Thank you
I know it's a year later, but in the moment of being triggered or elevated, use distress Tolerance. Then when you are calm, you can look at all the factors that contributed and plan for the next time using Emotion Regulation.
"And yatayata"... not good presentation skill... Still willing to listen... but just saying you might want to drop it to improve... Presentation would be more effective with images more than words.
it's synonymous with "etc." but sounds less stoic. her information was relayed successfully and was easy to digest because of the way she speaks/words the skills :) i like the way she does things, though i know what you mean.
Please remember this is being recorded as part of a live interactive webinar and sometimes I am fast forwarding over certain parts because those students have already learned that material in a recent class they attended.
Exactly the reason I had to stop watching... Had saved this one "for a rainy day" - pretty disappointed... Also don't care for the excuse, that this was live and the students "yada yada", insensitive is insensitive... Which (unfortunately) just happens to matter in this case.
