- Irish language rappers ‘Kneecap’ have drawn a headline-worthy crowd at Glastonbury festival.
The Belfast group made headlines, taking the British government to court.
The group also have a film on the way starring Michael Fassbender.

If somone puts two aspirational or verifiable political & legal state symbols side by side, then that would logically indicate they would believe or want it to be known , that they are equal, the same, related, connected, together in some shape or way, especially in the context of the content they place a comment under. Often though, it is just a superficial thing. So, the question is very genuine and critically serious. 😉
To be clear folks. There's no culture more appropriate for Glastonbury than the Irish. Far more than any Anglo-norman. It's a pagan/celtic festival. The idea than irish wouldn't naturally be welcome there or something is frankly absurd. I don't particularly like their music to be honest. But good for them! Can't wait to see their movie. The more Britons learn from the irish the better...

Being a Brit, if I moved to NI and it was reunified would I be generally welcomed. I've been working on the great escape idea for a while. Many famous Brits are finding homes in Ireland and comment glowingly. You are entitled to Irish citizenship if even one grandparent was born in Ireland. Not sure why you're finding thinks difficult - Irish Emassy London issued nearly one million passports 2023!

One thing I'm rather proud about: mostly Irish people (not all sadly) judge people for who they are not where they come from. Can't say with certainty but there's CTA and I suspect as a Brit no problem at all moving to Ireland! I read about 10% of Brits have enough Irish ancestry to qualify for Irish citizenship.

Totally agree. And I know many will disagree but Versatile were miles better than Kneecap too when you actually think about who achieved what and how. Costello’s verse in Ballymun 2001 was sick.
They were miles ahead of Kneecap, and achieved momentum with music alone, and never involved politics. What made them better is their production was completely homegrown, with no studio, whereas Kneecap had to go London and get a British producer to do their Irish album.
Versatile also accidentally exposed just how volatile and elitist the Irish entertainment scene is. Kneecap hasn’t actually exposed anything, other than repeating talking points and appealing to echo chambers. The only reason Kneecap even got popular was literally off the back of Versatile and profiting off Palestine.
Versitile were private school rich kids pretending to be hoods, A friend of mine was one of their teachers ffs. They are a bunch of nobs.
Kneecap grew up in the north where the language isnt even properly recognised yet so all power to them for achieving the sucess they did.
