THANK YOU SO MUCH. I'm not making a quilt, but I am making a part of my cosplay that requires a diamond pattern and this has been the easiest and most straightforward method.

Thank you for this wonderful information. I have saved this video. As a newbie, I'll definitely refer to this when I work my way up to diamonds.

Diamonds are a girl's best friend. I love them in quilts. Marking the join line is essential. Eyeballing for mere mortals will not cut it. Another useful alternative tool is Marti Michell's Deluxe corner trimmer. It has line up and marking dot that I find helpful for sewing diamond offsets. It's "Deluxe" because it has an angle for all the blocks to include the triangle in square. Perfect results every time. I mark the seam, then pin it on a pinable surface and glue baste. Everything stays put at the machine. Many ways to skin the quilt cat. (I don't press my seams open). If you like to make lots of 45 degree diamonds, the Creative Grids Diamond Dimension ruler as more visuals to allow for perfect cuts on the top, bottom and on the 45 for every block. It's a godsend. There is not other ruler out there that is better marked. Also it is perfect for mitering you borders on your quilts.
