Always loved McDo's burgers... and the American sauce which apparently is something typical to Dutch McDo's. Further... yeah coke is coke and the fries are.... bleh.... like I'm used to the much thicker crispy fries, Belgian style... so when you get that spongy soggy bag of shite from McDo.... yeah it tastes like shit. It tastes and feels as if it has been re-heated twice in the microwave.... don't know why Americans love that crap.

I worked at McDonald’s for my first job when I was barely 15. A lot of employees would take a heaping spoonful of the reconstituted onions and add it to a little cup of mayo and mix it together to make a dip for fries. I worked at McD's many years ago(1997/8 to 2004). The recon onions are sweeter then the fresh ones. The apples slices have been around for a long time(late 90's to early 2000's). They have a bit of extra tang because they are treated with lemon juice wash to keep them fresher.

It's really interesting that when you were pregnant you wanted food that comforted you which was your childhood memory of McDonald's as I have a similar story. I've been ill since I was a child and went through many procedures, surgeries etc and my parents always got me McDonald's (chocolate sundae and chips which I dunk in the ice cream and still do at age 44). As an adult I still get McDonald's after any medical procedure. This went awry when I had my wisdom teeth out and tried to eat the fries dipped into my sundae but ended up just eating the sundae. We didn't get takeaways/fast food except in the case of health issues so I associate fast food as a treat and rarely have it.
