Who caught the slaves in Africa and sold them? For over 200 years The Kingdom of Benin waged war on their neighbors and sold them into slavery. Africans had slavery hundreds of years before the arrival of Europeans. In the 15th and 16th century about a fifth of the population of Constantinople (Ottoman Empire) were slaves, the slave trade were a significant part of middle eastern economy and traditional society. You also know who ended slavery in the world(for the most part, unfortunately it's not gone)? Western civilizations! There are many steps, but to name 2: the 13th Amendement of the US constitution in 1865 and the Slavery Abolition Act in 1833 in the British Empire. The UK even forced this on other countries with their military power. And if they hadn't we'd probably still have slave states in Asia and Africa to this day. Or what about bringing democracy and free speech to the world. the fact that you couldn't write your post that easily and without fear of oppression here without the 'western world' is just pure irony. Something happened to Kyrie and Kanye to go completely off the deep end like this. They were both very popular when they started. They seem incapable of understanding that by posting those tweets they showed that they agreed with racist ideology and harmful stereotypes about certain groups of people. In their mind, they’ve done nothing wrong and what they’re apologizing for is the fallout from what they’ve done. A dude making millions playing basketball and claims to understand the suffering of slaves. This shit needs to stop. No matter our skin color all of our ancestors were slaves at one point or another in history. And NONE of us will understand that suffering. It's not our place to understand it, it's our place to learn from it and not let that suffering happen again. Yes racism also exist and is a problem in alot of places and is another issue that is slowly becoming history. We can all agree even people discriminated on against race isn't near as bad as 100 years ago. It's a slow process that slowly dies off as that generations leaves us and stops teaching the racism and hate. It's slow guys but we will get there in time. Now if we can get people to understand the bigger issue is the gap and complete different worlds the rich and poor have to deal with. That's the true issue in this damn country.
@@wtolman you're full of buzzwords that have completely lost it's meaning. 'generational trauma' of a multimillionaire? LMFAO. the worst thing is that this line of argumentation is actually exactly what it claims to fight, dehistoricization. You just pick out the things that fit your narrative. Want a history lesson?
The list is longer, but EVREY civilization has done outrageous crimes, waged wars and done crimes. Do these positives or the fact that others have done horrendous things too excuse or justify the horrific things done by western civilization? absolutely not! But what we can learn, is that we're never getting out of that cycle of violence if we blame all problems on one group/race/religion/culture/nation. Which is exactly what you try to do.

Man, what an unintelligent person...
Something happened to Kyrie and Kanye to go completely off the deep end like this. They were both very popular when they started. Then they started occasionally making a few odd comments here or there that steadily progressed into conspiracy theories to flat out completely ignoring science and history to promote very racist and/or dangerous ideas. They seem incapable of understanding that by posting those tweets they showed that they agreed with racist ideology and harmful stereotypes about certain groups of people. In their mind, they’ve done nothing wrong and what they’re apologizing for is the fallout from what they’ve done. I feel like they don’t even know if they believe any of what they promoted but don’t want to admit that and instead double down on it thinking that this is the way to make all the bad go away. They’ve lost not only lucrative brand deals over this but probably so much more. It almost seems like their purposely trying to nuke their careers because they’ve having some sort of mental health issue (kind of like Ezra Miller and his long list of odd criminal offenses).
I'm not trying to be dramatic here, but it honest to god did start with Trump. Once the right, and a lot of other people realized from his actions that they can be openly racist, misogynistic, etc and even the president can get away with it, it's caused a tidal wave of people openly portraying their true colors and knowing people will still support them.
@@juliusweiss5447 it's from social media in general tbh. You can say nearly anything without much repercussion online. Add that to being able to block people you don't like, only talk to people that have the same view as you, and everything you read, watch and say is instant. I have had the honor of working with someone saved from the life of being a child soldier in Africa. Christian Missionaries rescued him. He came from a true life of slavery. The stories he's told me. How well he had adapted and overcame. The life with a future he was so happy to have. I realized just how lucky I was to be randomly born in America.
I hope Charlie talks more about this, because antisemitism is getting stronger by the day, thanks to conspiracy theories and also racism, which is terrifying because that's exactly how Nazi Germany began, with people feeling confident to be openly antisemitic and racist.
Need to work out the differences though saying there is a specific amount of ppl who run the media and 90% of those are Jewish. That isn't anti semitic that's just what's happening. I'd point this out if it was any dominant religion. If ppl said this and they were Christian a term of it being offensive wouldn't exist.
It isn't thanks to conspiracys its thanks to racism 😂 if jewish ppl run the world (which I don't think they do) then they run the world its not a religious thing to where I have to now hate or be negative/ disrespectful to all jewish ppl because about 40 of them may have high positions of power. Only reason theories help racism is if a racist is a conspiracy theorist😂😂

The movie isn't even antisemitic from everything I've heard and everything I heard came from quite a few Jewish people that have stuck up for him. The whole situation is stupid. If you don't like what he has to say don't listen to him and don't support him but unless he's calling for violence he has the right to his opinion.
The movie literally states that the Holocaust was a hoax and that "fake white Jews" stole black Hebrews religion and heritage, that by definition is antisemitic. I hope you're just a troll
@@HipNFlip2023 it's funny we cry more about a basketball player sharing a documentary being anti semitic but when Israel is currently extremely racist to jewish blacks who live there which includes violent hate crime. When people believe in conspiracies, it can alienate them from their friends and family, sometimes to the point of entirely losing contact.
