Something enormous, something which could shift the carefully arranged balance he had spent the last four years cementing! And the worst part about it was that he didn't even know, at least not yet, what precisely had been hidden from his sight. The Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic, SheevPalpatine, had been informed of the unexpected gravitational disturbances by a mid level, hyperlane service report. Hundreds of thousands of ancient Hyperlane buoys, most of which had been presumed to be underpowered and non-functional, had come alive nearly all at once. The report showed a cascading effect originating from a point in space a few hundred light years away from Pzob, a backwater world at the very edge of the outermost part of the outer rim. The fact that Pzob had no buoys around it only emphasized the unprecedented magnitude of the disturbance. But even so, this was not something that would have normally drawn his attention. The Dark Lord of the sith was only marginally interested in such spatial anomalies and phenomenon, and not at all if they could not expand his knowledge of the force or be turned to function within his design. A curiosity, and nothing more, that is what his reading of this report would have concluded from it under more usual circumstance. But Darth Sidious had known about the disturbance well before the report had been delivered to his alter ego, for he had felt it through a different vector. The force. Something...dark had just entered into the near boundaries of his soon to be claimed Galactic Dominion, something which screamed and howled in voices the dark lord had never heard before. Sidious felt this could only mean one thing. Rivals! Grim forces of a darker galaxy had arrived to stake a claim on what was already his, and the sense of these newcomers made Dark Lord of this Sith feel power which he had been loath to use before. The intoxicating strength of fear added itself to his dark arsenal, for what he sensed was no mere chaff to be blown away, no jedi-like force to be abused and deceived. Crawling ever closer, the heir of Bane sensed a threat he had thought silenced forever when the crackling power of his own mastery had executed the drunk and foolhardy Sith Lord who'd once called himself Darth Plagueis. Darth Sidious now sensensed the threat of other masters of the darkside, and the plurality he felt approaching only heightened the sense of danger which now permeated his body, like infected veins through the pulsing flesh of a dirty wound. But, even though he had already felt it, the report was important, vital, in fact. Because while Darth Sidious was a master of the Darkside, and deeply attuned to such things, Sheev Palpatine, kindly Supreme Chancellor of the embattled Republic, was most decidedly not. Initially he thought to wait until the Jedi brought the matter to him, thinking they too would sense the arrival of the oncoming threat. But as days dragged by, Sidious found himself vexed by his own competence. Through the use of ritual, subversion, and the council's own arrogance, he had blinded the jedi. Even sitting within his chambers, speaking with him, surrounded by his dwarti statues, the jedi could not catch the slightest whiff of his true nature. While he was a great deal more subtle than these newcomers, he was also a great deal closer to the Jedi, and these outsiders had not even entered the Galaxy...yet. By the time the Jedi realized the threat, it would destroy them just as surely as Sidious himself would have, and that would not do. Thus, the report before him, neatly placed onto his desk, still brightly depicting the data held within as bright, blue holograms. The Reptilian warrior opposite the Supreme chancellor stared at them, and then, through them. "And you really think thiss dessservesss thissss kind of attensstion?" asked the Jedi knight, Renphi. Palpatine smiled calmly and nodded, completely negating his desire to scrunch his nose at the hissing, slurring accent used by the trandoshan jedi. It was bad enough that it had to be a pathetic, parasitic reptile, warming itself on the power of the Republic...did it also need to be a Trandoshan as well? "Most likely not, but I would like to be sure. These readings are quite unprecedented, and it stokes my anxiety to simply allow whatever is causing them to pass us by unobserved." The Secret Lord of the Sith said to him, fingers folded on the wide desk. "Hmmm, I ssssuppossse." The Jedi said. "But why clonesss? Why not ssssend a ssssurvey team inssstead?" He added. Palpatine smiled warmly at the wary warrior. The impertinent fool. The Dark Lord could scarcely wait, sensing the time of his purge approaching rapidly, echoing out into time, in both directions. This Jedi would die soon, like all the others, he could...almost...taste it. Almost hear the echoes of his final cries. "Oh, I shall send scientists and researchers with you as well." The Supreme Chancellor assured. "But, it is unprecedented, so I wouldn't send them out there without protection. Besides, we can never underestimate the enemy we are currently facing. Even if the Separatists have nothing to do with what caused these readings, they have buoys of their own. I cannot rule out the possibility that they will also attempt their own investigation." The Jedi Knight considered for a second before nodding his approval. "I ssssee the wisssdom in thissss." He said. Palpatine's smile reached his eyes fully then. "Good, good!" He added. "Then I'd be glad to send you on your way as quickly as possible! Like I said, we don't want this phenomenon to pass us by. I already have a science team picked out and ready to go. How many battalions do you command currently?" "Currently? Two." Said the Knight. "Make it four, I'll have you reinforced before you leave." The jedi seemed shocked, blinking for a moment before giving a shallow bow of respect to the smiling old man. "Thank you chancccccellor." He said. "Please, do not mention it. Simply promise me you will take care to remain safe! Odd things are said to...linger near the edge of the galaxy. Our war is maybe a month from it's close, and I'd not have you miss it because of a tragedy out in the frontier. Keep your men close about you." The knight nodded. "I will chanccccellor...Do you truly believe it might end sssso fassst?" Sheev leaned back in his seat and nodded knowingly. "Trust me my Jedi friend, I am an expert in such sorry things as war and peace. These matters can move suddenly, and mark my words, it will be over before you know it." ( A small part of episode one and Look up a fan with too much time I highly recommend his work and Definitely react to it )

This actually makes sense to me. The Dark Side Lives on through the Mask or Ornaments of it's wearer. The Light has a journey leading to the waters of immortality.
Good question. I am a bit confused too. I am completely lost on how that lightsaber gets around at this point. The EU made much more sense in that regard (Vader recovered it along with Luke 's hand, with it ultimately ending up on mount tantiss to be used by Luke's clone).
@@jayburn00 someone didnt think about the story. because luke, goes to bespin, after meeting and training with yoda. theres no time in between except when hes in his space xwing
It’s because this video is horribly inaccurate. The Living Sea doesn’t clone them, it basically builds a visual copy of their mind/ memories. Notice his Luke’s physical outfit changes. His light saber is even on the other hip when he goes under. So the Luke in the vision is not physically Luke or his lightsaber but his memory of them. (Also Anakin’s and Elzar’s lightsabers are similar looking but not at all the exact as the video claims).
They better reveal that the clone is the one that left and the real luke will escape there, it'd explain why the fake luke in the sequels was so garbage
I think that’s a misinterpretation of the interaction. I think what’s being implied is that the fungi of the planet itself is imprinting the IDENTITY of Luke Skywalker into the organism like an uploaded personality snapshot into a computer. I wouldn’t call it a clone, I’d say it’s Gazian that can perfectly replicate Luke’s perspectives and talk to people. Like he wasn’t exactly talking to Elzar Mann he was talking to the planet/force organism that was acting as Elzar Mann. Overall I’d say I like this addition. Hope it doesn’t get death star’d.
So basically, they have a hand of Luke, which I can make a clone and it has this planet. They could take the memories of that clone of the planet and put in the clone which they can actually have a a real him running around 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Funny thing. In the original Script for Return of the Jedi Ben came back from the Force Side to help Luke (and Yoda) fight against Vader and the Emperor. It was more the stance until then that Ben had not really died he just went into the netherworld in a new hope
"These places are horribly dangerous, and you need to research and prepare for going there." "OH YEAH, I'M GOING TO JUST GO AND JUMP INTO IT WITHOUT CHECKING ANYTHING!"
There’s a golden rule when it comes down to sci-fi and fantasy. Death is never permanent. There’s always a way for someone to come back in the realms of sci-fi and fantasy.
Star Wars comics. I wish Anakin Skywalker was cloned as well like Luke, but look if you've been caught up on Ahsoka Tano season 2. The TV series. You know that Anakin Skywalker is the chosen one in life and in death. And now we're going to see more of him. In the next season, we're going to see more of the God of the force Anakin Skywalker, you'll see.
If they brought them back using this, I wouldn't not mind even slightly. This Luke has the merciful blessing of not seeing what Disney did to him, the force just knew, so it backed him up lol.
This seems like a stretch…. I would prefer it if Luke used to much force power transporting an image of himself across the galaxy, that he had to become one with the force to recharge his powers. And once his force powers have recharged to their maximum he is reborn at peak power. You could recast him and say the force gave him a new body that’s also peak power. So now you have Luke, peak power, peak age, recast, ready to go! His new enemy will be a dark side version of himself created by himself by accident because the force balanced itself and made a dark side peak version when it created the light side peak version! Twins would be a fun casting choice!
Bro. This is copium if I've ever seen any. Luke, the original, is DEAD. Luke, the copy-slash-living planet or hivemind, is 'alive.' It's not the same. That's not actually Luke. That's an IMAGE of the man being produced by a living planet-organism.
As someone from another galaxy and time once said, "He's dead, Jim." I think if we ever see Luke again post the sequel trilogy, it'll be only as a Force ghost. I doubt any writers of a future Star Wars movie or TV series will ever read this comic, much less think of it as a way to bring Luke back.
This reminds me heavily of the Nexus from Star Trek, as there will always exist a piece of a person in that place should they ever enter, regardless if they leave or not.
Actually the way to clean up the mess Disney made is to declare that there are multiple timelines that can be accessed through the World Between Worlds. There should be three WBWs, one that is plain looking( Rebels), one that looks like it did in the Ahsoka series, and one that looks different somehow, and that can be the “main” one, where Luke is meditating and can explore alternate timelines. Some universes are chaotic, and logic fails in some of them due to Palpatine or other Sith messing with them. For example, Rey using Force lightning without any training, what if that was just Palpatine messing with the timeline, working through her?
When you replace faith with fiction you delude your self There's something they are ignoring which is why they choose to live a fantasy, nothing is random everything is numbered its just too vast for limited mortals a life span is coded for living cells and like a fine tuned airplane it has many precautions put in place in case something fails, but overall still has its limited uses
I was never convinced he was dead either, Ascended maybe, after all he did not leave his hand behind. Ascended can probably step in and out if they desire. :D Explains both Look and Yoda affecting the environment in the last two sequels.
Question. This is after Empire, Luke knows about his father being Vader. But he has Anakin's blue lightsaber? He got his hand cut off in Empire and lost hia saber.
We've already seen that the World Between Worlds is a canon thing in Ahsoka. And we know it can be used to change time. Ezra decided against using it to change history but that implies that it can be used to change time. The Ahsoka series may end doing exactly that given that it plays around with the World between Worlds and the archetypal Force Spirits; the Father, the Daughter and the Son. If they do alter history to ignore the sequels I expect it to happen there.
The comics don't matter and aren't even really canon to Disney Star Wars regardless. I know they fed this lie that everything from the movies, shows, comics, books, and games all share the same canon, but that's simply isn't true. Lots of things established in the comics have either been ignored or retconned. Example: It's shown in the first issue of Darth Vader Dark Lord of the Sith, shortly after the events of Episode III, the Emperor destroys all the lightsabers of the Jedi who had been killed in the purge in like some kind of incinerator, including Master Yoda's when he escaped. However, in the Book of Boba Fett when Luke is training Grogu, Luke just somehow has Yoda's lightsaber despite it supposed to being destroyed twenty plus years ago. The very first episode of Dave Filoni's Bad Batch show, completely ignores and outright retcons the Kanan Jarrus comic books that detailed what exactly went down with him during Order 66. They even went so far as to change tiny details like changing Depa Billaba's lightsaber from green to blue. Lucasfilm doesn't seem to give a damn at preserving continuty with anything, despite lying to everyone that it would be tighter and more consistent than the old Expanded Universe, going so far as to establish a Story Group to oversee continuity is kept throughout, which has been a total failure at perserving anything.
I've been running a SWRPG Campaign via Fantasy Flight Games Narrative Dice system. And I've said that fungus is the closest thing to the embodiment of the force - neither living nor dead - naturally manifesting itself into patterns similar to neurological patterns. Fungus creates life, and fungus consumes what's left after life is no longer present. There's certain fungi that are present near leylines of the force, vergences, that people seem to focus on or enrich themselves upon. At least, that's how one ancient, extinct civilization saw it. Luminians, they were an pacifist-isolationist-utopian people who, at one point, practiced the force as though it were part of daily life. There's some crossover here between DUNE and Star Wars in that the fungus is like the Spice Melange. You're basically consuming life itself and augmenting your own life force. But, the force represents power, and the governing body of it sought to consolidate power and let only one singular person practice the force going forward. And only one person was permitted to sing. The Siren of Lumine, she was a figurehead, a leader. She used the force when she sang, and when she did, because the people were forbidden from song, her songs carried immense power. Eventually, something cataclysmic happened, and the star went unstable and had a major ejection that impacted the planet, leaving the planet to go way out of orbit. The planet became Hoth-like, worse even. Hoth would be a picnic. Consider all the jagged rocks, and darkness of Mordor, with all of the iciness and desolation of Hoth. You would have what would be called "Umbrafall." The campaign starts in a neighboring system in which the players work to colonize it for the Empire, but start to unravel a cult that has taken root there many years ago. They start getting more puzzle pieces and eventually find themselves on Umbrafall, which, in spite of its hostile atmosphere, still remains a trade hub for the region. As they explore this now, tidally locked hellscape, they go to the Deadlands (the dark side of the planet) and start doing some archaeology/spelunking to uncover its secrets and realize that there's a connection between it all, the fungus that they keep finding, planets that are sentient, and so on. On a side note. Look up the oldest mycological lifeform on earth. I think Oregon has one of the oldest mycelial networks in existence in its forests. It's amazing what fungus can do.
So Luke just jumps out of a giant mushroom planet and the audience will be okay with that? I think this is fine for the comic, it had the time to explain everything. They will have to do something different for the movie.
I'm pretty sure Luke had a weird hallucination from the mushrooms, or it was a message from the force. Either way it makes more sense that the mushrooms created a clone of Luke to replace him.
No way. They will never touch this. Try explaining that Luke visited a mushroom planet and got cloned yada yada to the mass public. They say the creators are on mushrooms. Seems like a huge cop out. …Palpatine on the other hand. Maybe he visited the planet at one time in the past and he can somehow return once again!
@@TheOodoneOut44Anakin based his off of a basic design. Many Jedi have similar hilts. Look at Mace Windu and Anakin Skywalker’s hilts. Of course, there’s many differences, but there’s also many similarities.
this story makes no sense, it must take place before the events of Bespin, as Luke still has his fathers lightsaber, however Luke shouldn't know that Anakin is still Alive, as he was led to believe his father died prior to ANH. Luke doesn't find out the truth until after Vader tells him, and later confirmed by Obi-Wan on Dagobah. Why do they continue to retcon the story and destroy the lore in the process?
Mycelium network. Star Trek Discovery crossover event. Really like this story, and the idea of the Jedi order is what it needs to be at the time, sometimes warriors, sometimes teachers, sometimes whittled down to nothing. The Jedi Order was a framework for understanding and not the end all to be all. Love that. Maybe they’ll make games with a better story than the sequels like Indiana Jones just did
I was gonna say it must be the Clone of him from his severed hand. This seems to basically be a canon version. If so, its a GOOD way to bring Luke back. Palpatine had his back-up plans, why not Luke too? So, the Skywalker bloodline lives again. Though the Clone is stuck on that planet.

I cannot rule out the possibility that they will also attempt their own investigation."
The Jedi Knight considered for a second before nodding his approval.
How many battalions do you command currently?"
"Currently? Two." Said the Knight.
"Make it four, I'll have you reinforced before you leave."
The jedi seemed shocked, blinking for a moment before giving a shallow bow of respect to the smiling old man.
Keep your men close about you."
The knight nodded.
"I will chanccccellor...Do you truly believe it might end sssso fassst?"
Sheev leaned back in his seat and nodded knowingly.
"Trust me my Jedi friend, I am an expert in such sorry things as war and peace. These matters can move suddenly, and mark my words, it will be over before you know it."
( A small part of episode one and Look up a fan with too much time I highly recommend his work and Definitely react to it )
@djashovel
I see you too are a man of culture.
Thanks for posting this. It was a very interesting read. I don't know anything about Warhammer, but seeing Palpatine this freaked out about an external threat he knows nothing about really piques my interest (and his P.O.V seems well-written and true-to-character). It reminds me of the Yuzong-vong story arc from Star Wars Legends material. I'll make sure to check out the channel you cited.
LETS GOOO DISNEY DO US A DAVOR DO N O T FUMBLE THIS !!!!!!!! BRING LUKE BACK. REAL MASTER LUKE. PLEASE WE ALL WANT IT MAKE A COUPLE BILLION WHY DONT YALL ?!?!😂💯💯💯🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
How could they do that if this so called copied version of Luke is stuck on this mushroom planet?
This actually makes sense to me. The Dark Side Lives on through the Mask or Ornaments of it's wearer. The Light has a journey leading to the waters of immortality.
How did Luke get Anakin’s lightsaber here? I thought it was lost on Bespin.
@@aurorauplinks this is after esb though cause he know's vader is his father
@@FurgusFungus i just mean it seems like it doesnt quite fit in the timeline. because he lost his saber on bespin.
1:15 - and then he met Sonic the Hedgehog.
Sounds like the Pattern Jugglers in Alastair Reynolds Revelation Space books.
Man, Palpatine would be pissed if he found out about this place.
There is no Star Wars, it died the day Georgie boi sold it.
Somehow he too came back
maybe the real luke is the friends we made along the way.
This Luke is basically a living holocron bound to the planet
"These places are horribly dangerous, and you need to research and prepare for going there."
"OH YEAH, I'M GOING TO JUST GO AND JUMP INTO IT WITHOUT CHECKING ANYTHING!"
Completely in character for Luke.
8:24 "My own clone! Now neither of us will be vergence!"
When Luke force farted into oblivion....I hoped somehow he ended up at Ben's house.
There’s a golden rule when it comes down to sci-fi and fantasy. Death is never permanent. There’s always a way for someone to come back in the realms of sci-fi and fantasy.
Looks like a blonde Conan the Barbarian the thumbnail.
Ewan wants to do live action clone wars with both of them! I'll be there for that!
@@christinestevenson4304 me too
That's what they should've done in the sequels!
@ I hope we see anakin again
There's only been 1 season of Ashoka thankfully
If they brought them back using this, I wouldn't not mind even slightly. This Luke has the merciful blessing of not seeing what Disney did to him, the force just knew, so it backed him up lol.
I love how Disney promised to make their new EU more consistent and now its far more of a mess than ever.
Luke, the copy-slash-living planet or hivemind, is 'alive.'
It's not the same.
I'm so glad that the most powerful Jedi is back. He was humiliated and denigrated. A complete trilogy
We all deserved the grand master Skywalker we got in the books, mainly the version of him in the fate of the jedi ten book series
this is just reaching, its like saying Qui-Gon, yoda and Obi-Wan are still alive because there also shown to have remains there.
I think it's more of an imprint that's left there and not a "clone" that could ever leave the planet
I am waiting for Disney to make a ultimate/ absolute Universe for star wars
( it's from marvel and DC With their new universes )
he deserves to be cloned. not palpatine
Wasn’t his clone the Ultimate Sith Lord?🤔
Luke had no access to cloning tech. Palpatine did. The sequel trilogy had a lot wrong with it, but a Palpatine clone wasn't one of them.
This reminds me heavily of the Nexus from Star Trek, as there will always exist a piece of a person in that place should they ever enter, regardless if they leave or not.
So basically he's living in the energy ribbon that Kirk fell into in that next generation movie?
That’s one way to clean up the mess Disney made
Actually the way to clean up the mess Disney made is to declare that there are multiple timelines that can be accessed through the World Between Worlds.
There's so many people who can replace all the actors living and dead to continue the roles of many Ip characters.
Another one comes back from death because Disney Star Wars has no respect for the rules of life and death
Mfs were coming back left and right in legends too be fr
Oh, don’t worry, there is a reason that phrase ‘Disney death’ exists.
The force is a pathway to unnatural abilities.
When you replace faith with fiction you delude your self
There's something they are ignoring which is why they choose to live a fantasy, nothing is random everything is numbered its just too vast for limited mortals a life span is coded for living cells and like a fine tuned airplane it has many precautions put in place in case something fails, but overall still has its limited uses
Disney destroyed Luke's character in the sequels
I was never convinced he was dead either, Ascended maybe, after all he did not leave his hand behind. Ascended can probably step in and out if they desire. :D Explains both Look and Yoda affecting the environment in the last two sequels.
Question. This is after Empire, Luke knows about his father being Vader. But he has Anakin's blue lightsaber? He got his hand cut off in Empire and lost hia saber.
I feel it would be more accurate to say his consciousness at that point in his life was backed up on the mushroom ssd
I had a mushroom 🍄 experience very similar to this.
I thought to myself "far out, and even further!"
Reminder Heir to the Empire movie is still to come lol, Luuke may indeed be a thing
Ok what’s the name of this comic book? Is it a one off or a new series? I’m a little intrigued
That is not a Luke clone. It is just an imprint of his memories from when he was a beginner.
Still waiting for an apology before I give any money to Disney ever again.
Disney will do anything to get people to read comics and still be invested in Star Wars except for what we want
Luke visits the Humongous Fungus Among Us
Disney trying to do damage control...
Disney Star Wars fans: The EU has the stupidest and most ridiculous stories!! The Disney canon is better!!
Disney Canon:
The original Marvel run had better stories than DEI$ney with 6 ft green meat eating rabbits, telepathic chipmunks and Zeltrons.
Thanks for another repeat

@@drwilyecoyote5357 Greetings, peasant.
So Luke just jumps out of a giant mushroom planet and the audience will be okay with that? I think this is fine for the comic, it had the time to explain everything. They will have to do something different for the movie.
"No one's ever really gone"
Reminds me of that song.... "The cat came back!" 🐈🎵👍😁
And they claim they have no source material..
Add 100% love to see this made into something live action
What a cool story.
This could work, because let's just say if Luke's force ghost could somehow connect with this imprint, would he then be able to ressurect?
This is like android Picard.
I'm pretty sure Luke had a weird hallucination from the mushrooms, or it was a message from the force. Either way it makes more sense that the mushrooms created a clone of Luke to replace him.
Sequel trilogy relegated to apocryphal status, perhaps?
read the comic
Some new plot armor for Luke 👍🏻
Well there’s 8 minutes of my life I can’t have back… 🤣
What comics is this and whenit was released?
This is very similar to the Pattern Jugglers in Alastair Reynolds' Revelation Space universe.
So Luke just had one big psychedelic mushroom trip.
So Palpatine didnt know about this before he died? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Did the comic explain how they both have the same lightsaber, 200 years apart?
I think a lightsaber is a decently old weapon
@drx737 but they have the same hilt. How would that be if it was Anakin that originally made it?
No one ever really dies in comics
