In supernatural The 'boy' is very important to the plot... theres a lot of meaning and deep metaphor in this.. hyein is the bunny... but i wont spoil anything else till you see part 2 :) i will just say the 'future' references multiple times.. its also the second answer on the crossword (1st answer is supernatural) the hyein bunny looks like frank the rabit from donnie darko.. a movie about time travel... and if you watch the dance scenes flip from 80s to present day continuosly.. suggesting they haven't aged in 40 years.. it will make more sense when you watch part 2 which came out yesterday.... i dont want to spoil it till youve seen part 2... just that the boy is actually only interested in hyein... not anyone else.
Haha that makes so much sense! I realized once I finished this video that I could've waited😆 but I wasn't sure when or if a part 2 would come! I will have another video out for part 2 soon! And you're right everything clicked right into place after watching it lol thanks for the helpful insight, it definitely helped me make sense of things going into it lol
Haha considering how retro things get made for Newjeans (especially with this style of song) it's not surprising at all that they'd have older movie references in their videos. I think I also remember seeing similar scary bunny imagery in their ASAP video if I'm not mistaken although it was a different story🤔
Yeah NewJeans has a very distinct sound even when the songs are quite different from each other Like Attention and Right Now are very different but they still very distinctly NewJeans sound. I’m not a musician so it’s hard to put it into words. Supernatural sounds simultaneously like the New jack swing sound of the 90s and the Japanese city pop of the 80s
Its essentially 90s RnB and its clubland variants of Miami Bass and New Jack Swing.. all 90s also. Then its more traditional 90s Urban Clubland genres.. mostly UK Garage but also Jersey Club, Baltimore Club and Jungle/Drum and Bass (albeit a softer mellower version of jungle/drum and bass) Essentially to sum it up because of so many genres used i would just say their Genre is 90s Urban music (bubblegum being an exception being citypop... but it still has strong RnB vibes and is 90s so also fits)
It's definitely a HUGE mix of different genres which I agree adds to NewJeans unique sound. It has an air of nostalgia while still feeling new and fresh, which I think attracts a large variety of people to them. I'm also not a musician or that well versed in what makes up which genre of music so it's okay I understand where you're coming from lol although considering what I do for YT you'd think I should be😅
@@izzy_robotix nah you shouldnt don't worry about it lol... it just newjeans do all the genres i loved and listened to a lot growing up in late 80s and 90s from around 11 to my late teens and early 20s... they seem to only do the genres i love so i guess their ceo has the exact same music taste as me :P
@jaynadiah5498 haha that's valid😆 I mean even if it wasn't music you grew up listening to it's still incredibly good! This just means you've got good taste😌
Both songs are part of their Japanese debut. Both songs mix Korean, English and Japanese lyrics. Part II of the "Supernatural" MV is the fully Korean version of the song(meaning, they replaced the Japanese lyrics with Korean ones). Also, Hyein hurt herself during practice so that's why she doesn't participate in the choreo. The bunny mask is suppose to represent her and when they performed on Japanese music shows, they used the same bunny dancer as well. As for "Supernatural," Pharrell Williams is credited as one of the co-producers since they sampled a Japanese song that he produced. That's him you hear on the adlibs("come on").
@MrSuperjam789 waaa I didn't realize that wasn't her! Oops lol I had forgotten she hurt herself🥲 I loved both songs so much! I'm so happy they were finally able to make their Japanese debut☺️
Haha if I didn't have this one ready at the time I would've waited😅 but yesss I saw and it's such a cool concept. Part 2 definitely made everything make more sense lol
감사합니다. ❤ 뉴진스가 너무 좋아요.
Thank you for watching! I love NewJeans a lot too💖

I knew I wasn’t tripping with thinking there was a Donnie Darko reference there…just thought I was aging myself by thinking about it 😂
