I just want to ask where the error could be if the detector indicates gold and silver as iron... even though the disc operation mode is switched on, which filters out the iron, of course it filters out the gold as well. is the problem in the coil or in the instrument itself that indicates the objects? The fact he tried so hard to convince me then got caught with something sloppy................................
@@kharasheh detection distance wasn't very impressive especially with small things like coins or gold rings but that's probably due to the inaccurately made coil. generally not suitable for field exploration. As for the gold, I haven't tested it at all

On your video, you show that wire marked 0x is not a double wire from the coil, you have 2 single wires which are 20x respectively. Did you switch wires or one 20x should have been 0x. Please clarify your wires better or make your video with better detail..? I tried using the 0x as a guide but not sharp at all. Please send diagram. Thanks.
With the war in Ukraine using a significant number of mines remote mine clearing will be a must. It is needed now. So I have designed a small RC vehicle as a carrier for a metal detector across the front of it. Maybe as long as 10' long. I presume one would use several of these mounted in a frame across the front of the machine. Instead of a buzzer the circuit would drive a small relay that would signal which detect would be triggered so marking the mine, and hopefully detonating, could take place. Almost all mines are within 15cm of the surface so that would be the target depth. Can these coils be placed next to each other? Ultimately I will need someone with which to collaborate on this project.
This metal detector is badly designed. Yes it does work up to a few cms. However, there is not discrimination on this circuit. Your suggestion of using metal detector has been used in the past to detect mines. Please take note there is a much better way to detect mines. They use ground penetrating detectors that can go down to 3 meters. You can exactly on a screen what is in the ground. Source: over 25 years of electronic engineering
@@stargazer279 Interestin. When you say ground penetrating are you indicating 'radar'? The technology isn't that important to me as long as it works. My electronics background is limited. On the other hand I've been designing and operating control systems for various industries all of my career.
@@blackseabrew, there is a very important detail that you must understand concerning metal detectors. First i own a Minelab metal detector. Still with this detector i could not install it on an RC vehicle because you would have to swing the metal detector left and right in order to get a signal. If you are on top of the metal object without moving, the metal detector will not detect the object. You need to have motion in order to detect. Here in this project, the maximum depth you will be able to achieve will be about 6 to 8 (15 to 20 cm) inches . A ground penetrating device has it's own cart. You will get an image of what is present in the ground, also the type of metal present. A ground penetrating detector can reach down to 6 to 8 feet down , 2 meters give or take. The principle behind a metal detector and a ground penetrating detect or radar are completely different from one another.
@@stargazer279 It's easy enough to build a mechanism to swing a detector back and forth. Think a larger version of a windshield wiper motor. My thoughts for a successful machine to perform this task is that it would have to weigh 1-2 tons. Roughly 6' wide, including tracks. Not unlike the size of small mini-excavators.
@@blackseabrew yes it is fairly easy to build a moving mechanism for a metal detector. As i was reading your comment, something came in mind. Since the mines are within 15 cm, perhaps ultra sound would be better to detect the mines, from this you could actually see a good image on a screen. The shape and type of mine would be visible on screen. This is something a metal detector can't do. This device would be like one of those sonar for fishes. But if you think of taking a sonar to do the job, it would need to be modified since the mines are in the sand.
