true, and damn this is 50's first song recorded and you can hear the Mase flow in his voice. Mase definitely had an influence on rappers like Fabolous, Loon, 50, and etc. He should get more credit.
Fly ass song dam , R.I.P to jam master jay , free the guys that was just tryna get paid , R.I.P my nigga Mitch , our soul lives on forever memories an feelings never die ‼️‼️🍾
Some misinformation here. It was DMX who they wanted to sign, not 50 Cent. X was flown out to LA for meetings with Suge but eventually declined & later dissed Pac on a Who Shot Ya freestyle. 50 wasn’t on the radar in 96, his first single he ever recorded was in 97 under Jam Master Jay’s label. Eventually down the line it could’ve been possible for 50 to end up on Death Row East because his relationships with JMJ (RUN DMC was rumored to sign to DRE) .Craig Mac was going to be announced at the first signee on the night Pac got shot. Mac was at Death Row’s club “662” waiting for Pac & Suge. Other acts who would’ve been on D.R.E. would’ve been Big Daddy Kane, Bootcamp Clik, Eric B & Rakim, and underground rappers form New Jersey.
50 had BARS back then. certain bits sound a little ma$e-ish but it's still classic 50. wish he could of reworked this....what's the sample too? I know it and its driving me nuts.
