This is still the best recipe for Piccalilli in my opinion. I have tried quite a few but I get the best results with this one. For those wondering,I also used 1 tbsp of Cornflour and 1.5 tbsp of Turmeric as said below. I also added the Thyme leaves and a few bay leaves when I mixed the veg through. I then left the whole bowl in the fridge for 4 hours, giving it a stir through each hour. After that I took out the bay leaves. Gave it one more big mix and stuffed it into sterilised jars . Oh and Sorry Chef but I used English mustard too! Yes I know it is a 2012 upload but that does not stop it being my favourite!.
You, Sir, are a master! First time I've seen how to gut bell peppers. Only the second time how to trim cauliflower, which happened to be by another french chef. Used red onion, which lost it's color. Red bell pepper kept it's color. I'll be sure to use yellow pepper for it's sunshine 🌞

To make good piccalilli, one must first prepare a form of antipersonnel gas. Haha! But the end result is worth it. Thank you for these entertaining and informative videos!
Hi, a question for Julien, is that an induction hob you use on the counter top?, I will be making the piccalilli tonight & the ham hock terrine next week. really good down to earth vids you are doing, no fancy pants crap, all the best, Chris.
