There are several that tie directly into the story, but are not directly part of it. Even dragon age 2 and 3( which dragon age 3 wasn't bad game at all but definitely had a lot of bad and uninteresting characters but overall cool setting and story and overall look) had the same vibe. I'm not a fan of bioware company anymore that much. People who made a name for it basically all left. Ones replacing them have completely different vibe and direction.. For everyone saying this game is shit and haven't even played it. Just stop. I've put a day and a half into this game already and it's been one of the most well paced and balanced gaming experiences I've played in a very long time. For a shoot loot game it relies very little on shooting and on skills, which although are scarce right now have potential on it's own and are some of many to be in the full game as bioware have stated they will add more as well as a skill tree. The development in fort tarsis relating to side characters and conversations is entertaining and fun. You can help 2 people make a bakery if you want to for no reason. The loyalty program gives rewards if you want them bad enough and all of the people who say the dialogue and characters feel "robotty" they haven't looked closely. This isnt some kh3 robot shit. The characters in this game have animated faces and not just the the game animation kind. They have expression and movement. While the dialogue is corny, it's far better than half of the dialogue you see in most games these days (kh3). I want to point out too that this game doesn't officially hit day 1 until the 22nd. The patches they are adding in will fix the rare bugs SOME people are encountering. The game that I played so far hasn't been buggy, glitchy, or shitty. The gameplay is balanced and fair and I played on hard and grandmaster once I got max level. Give the game a chance before you take everyone else's opinion and make it your own. The entire gaming community is filled with over expecting assholes who only care about perfect graphics and impeccable stories. Go make a game from scratch and then tell me its not hard to come up with a great unoriginal story and also go ahead and make the game perfectly glitchless and playable. Stop judging the game based on the critical path (main story) seeing as how they're developing it more in further FREE updates. The micro transactions aren't bad either. You don't have to buy them, you can earn them in game just fine. Also.. that isn't the only thing to do in the game. This video only gives you the main story. You can do so many different stories in regards to the people of fort tarsis. SPOILERS Yarrow, a freelancer who gives you contracts eventually gives a storyline about an outlaw who gets the best of your character by tricking you into thinking they're a freelancer. You then have to chase him down and figure out what he was after. That's just one of the stories you can complete. After day 1 launch there will probably be more. So.. stop trashing on the game and stop whining about how you can't find a good game to play and try something new. If you have enough time to put out opinionated shit taste in a game you haven't played, get it and actually play it.
this Story looks... familiar... like another game series did it already... a couple years ago... with a few actuelly intresting characters... god what was that Game called?
I gotta say. I looked forward to this game a lot. And the result is existing and fun! I'm more of a 13th to 19th century type. That's what I like. Not 20th to after that. But still I love this game.
Crashed out of several cut scenes and lost audio in a few as well. I didnt even know owen stole the javelin and betrayed me until he showed up wearing it in a later mission.
So basically...Crackdown 3. Anthem. Metro Exodus. & Far Cry New Dawn all came out in the same week & from what I've seen only Metro has gotten good ratings. Other than Division 2 next month, that seems to be it in the solid game department until the Fall.
Honestly i feel the “old bioware is gone” comments are out of place this feels just as good to me as the mass effect series and kotor.....minus the romances of course which is kinda a let down but....you can get close enough if u know what i mean....either way i believe this game is a gem......the combat....the story.....the loot....and above all that you CAN fly! Haven't played this game, and I don't know if I ever will. The exosuit/Javelin design is pretty interesting, although the digitigrade legs they have is pretty weird on smaller Javelin frame. Anyway, one thing that I don't understand is why everybody is so against Owen wanting to be a Lancer? Is it because he's a Cypher or whatever? The kid wanted to be in a Javelin so let him. If anything happens it's on him. He knows what he signed up for.

I mean I see where everyone is coming from , I myself hasn’t played the mass effect series but I do hope people understand that this is a looter shooter. I don’t know what anyone expected
Perhaps listening to ppl say how they didnt enjoy it or how it's not as good as previous bioware titles could give you an inkling before you make your $60 purchase as to whether or not you'll enjoy it yourself and b satisfied with the massive chunk of money it costs? But then I can't say much along those lines I really enjoyed mass effect andromeda while everyone shat on that game
Ignore them and think for yourself. Make your own conclusions. Mine is that Andromeda was still a good Mass Effect game with a hiccup or two (ignoring the bugs).
Is this what Bioware is bringing to the table these days? Cheesy dialogue, obnoxious characters and a non-interesting story? And we're still holding onto hope that Mass Effect will return to it's former glory? ...not with this Bioware it won't.
@Yuh J there are more socially awkward characters in Andromeda and anthem than the whole of dragon age1,2 inquisition, mass effect 1_2_3 combined . That right there is a cause of worry.
I feel like they've gone down the same path as the Wachowski Brothers, err, sister, ehhh, exers... 13 min into this video and I have no clue what the fuck this is about or even care.
I think this game could have used some more "backstory" to help fill you in on all what's going on and "why" it is happening. More about the planet and its history. what or how the different factions came into being. etc. The characters are good, and so are the voice actors. But for some reason you don't develop an attachment to the characters, care about what happens to them as much as you would or have in other video games. It's hard to a put a finger on what it is that is missing with the characters. That is the most important thing about a video game think. Creating characters that you actually care about, and what happens to them.
It feels very empty after about 5 hours of playing. What killed it for me is that high tier loot is just reskinned lower tier loot. Very few weapon models 😒
@@elementxcod7274 there are huge problems with the game and some that cant be fixed due to engine limitations. That said the world and combat is really nice.

~hugs BioWare tightly~ Shhhh, it's alright, darling. I know EA made you do it, and I understand. I do. Things don't always go the way we would wish or hope in life. In the years ahead, I promise to always remember the good times, and those wonderful, magical years we spent gaming together. When my mother and father died in front of my eyes, killed by that murderous bastard, Howe, you showed me I could still save the world from the Blight, and make many special friendships along the way. When the fate of the entire galaxy rested on my shoulders, and on the choices I made, you quietly encouraged me to go with my instincts so we could use our strengths to win over the Reapers. There are so many other examples I could recount, like when the Chantry exploded and you trusted me to do the right thing in the midst of tragedy, but I know you remember our time together too. The important point is that those moments happened, and nothing can ever take that away. So, this is goodbye. I thought....or hoped, really, that we would have a little more time together, but I see now I was only fooling myself. Where you have gone I cannot follow. It hurts, but I have to let you go. Before we part, I want you to know that for all your past work...I'm proud of you. And thank you. For the memories, for the laughter, and even for the sorrow and tears. You touched my heart and made me feel so much more than I ever thought possible; I will always love you for it. ♥

I will admit the game had its flaws but I really liked it. I enjoyed playing it too. I just wish they would remake it and bring it back. But do it right this time.
Keep in mind people that this is ONLY the main story. This video does not include any side content or side missions. There are several that tie directly into the story, but are not directly part of it. The average player will end up spending roughly 50+ hours in the game before even reaching the end of the main story, and upwards of 100-150+ to see all the game as to offer. PLUS, the 1st add-on pack is coming in March (which is free).
yea but like. that was the main story. and like. that was it. lay out zero dawns story like this and see what happens
@@pepsiatlas5452 Mass Effect 1's story was only 10 hours long, ME2's was around 15-20. Horizon Zero Dawn is only 20-25ish as well. You also have to keep in mind that Anthem's story will be continued over time like a TV show with "seasons". What exists right now is only the first chapter.
@@QuantumShadow fam they the same price. someone charged you the price of 7 books for philosopher's stone how would you react.
@@pepsiatlas5452 You seem to forget that ALL of Anthem's new content will be 100% free for everyone, so your argument makes no sense. The more accurate way of describing it would be you buy book 1, then get the rest for free.
I think anthem has so much potential, and I can’t wait to see more installments as a series. Although, this story in particular was _way_ too short
I would recommend playing the game it really takes the life out of the cutscenes there's a lot of missing details that piece it all together although.
personally I love the story, going into the city and just talking to people you can meet some bat shit craziness quite a bit of backstory to it that does answer why Owen is so weird.
Personally I really don't care what anyone thinks I enjoy the game but they really need to sort the CPU bottlenecking, ect.
EA and live services is death to single player games
Yo thanks for showing me this now I really want to get the game sure the game is bad to some people but to me this is giving me so much ideas for character designs and oc javelins so many ideas I need get this game
Tbh the dialogue is really corny
only thing it has going fot it are graphics, everything else is mediocre
It’s like mass effect andromeda, great gameplay, mediocre story. Not the BioWare that I know.
This is some ME:A type of shitty writing
Honestly I got that same vibe from the demo.
In terms of rpg/action adventure story telling it's completely different and change now seems very corny and cringy...
@@joshuavega9559 THAT BioWare died 7 years ago...
My face is tired
Lol i remember that from mass effect andromeda
I dunno, meme seems dead.
Serza CZ agreed
@@Pharaoh24 Yeah, facial animations seem... well, like they learned their lesson. I hereby proclaim the face meme as dead.
Serza CZ hopefully they learned from their mistakes and I hope the next will little bit more better
I couldn’t stop hearing Wheatley from Portal 2 whenever Owen spoke lol (even tho different va)
And the parallels too
1:36:05 - *gets pushed to the sidelines*
1:48:40 - *inevitably betrays group for chance at power* OH CURSES THIS SUDDEN AND UNEXPECTED BETRAYAL
Just in case anyone wants to play it, its in EA pass. It isnt bad. It's just really short
Damn the game ain’t even out yet
the power of origin access, friend - you get the game before it officially comes out
Shaqnokobe personal information data my friend
There are people playing the game right now, so "it's not out yet" is false.
Thank you for making the video :)
It's ok man. I love the environments you guys made. I can see that the art team really cared about the game
Took the words out from my mouth exactly, I just got Anthem from game pass, and I'm loving it bro, let haters be haters, cheers.
Thanks for saving me $60 man.
I didn't want it when it was first announced and now that it's here, I still don't want it.
33:00... So what you’re saying is this is the battle of twilight gap
but without shaxx
this Story looks... familiar... like another game series did it already... a couple years ago... with a few actuelly intresting characters... god what was that Game called?
I don't think its your destiny to remember, especially since bungie actually had a few decent games.
I only see mass effect Andromeda here
@@soraceant It's basically the same game, just a bit more refined. Sound effects, animations and primer detonator system is lifted beat for beat.
@@whodatninja439 yup. I beat mass effect Andromeda so it's obvious to me
Im getting a halo 5 feel
Thanks for the upload.
Well done. It was a lot of fun to watch!
I gotta say. I looked forward to this game a lot. And the result is existing and fun!
I'm more of a 13th to 19th century type. That's what I like. Not 20th to after that. But still I love this game.
Bioware Studios presents: Destiny, The Lost Anthem lolololol
yeah this seems to be a child of destiny and maybe titanfall 😂
Hahahaha 3:20 "Ready javelin one?"
Oh my god. I want this game the world looks rich and well thought out.
I wonder if there are any secret places there. I'm sure there are.
I mean the facial animation is pretty good and the voice acting is also good. Story is alright. So far it's like, in my opinion, 6/10
As corny as Owen and your characters dialogue is between each other, it's honestly quite enjoyable to listen to.
Scenario Actors and Details are awesome!
Good work dude
"Some people like boring."
Yeah, these people had BioWare in mind when writing this generic story.
I read your comment literally 1 second before she said that - what a freaky coincidence!
Generic is such a useless criticism
@Dominic I've called it Destiny with Jetpacks. Is that about right? (By which I mean Destiny 1 vanilla.)
@Dominic EA is the one at the yoke. They did the same thing to Command and Conquer years ago when they bought out Westwood Studios.
Facts
*Owen:* I think you better hurry!
*GLP:* (Immediately face plants the wall, gets stuck behind stairs)
lmao timestamp?
Thank you for your game plays man, you always give us the best vids.
Great video. Thanks.
To be honest, the fact that Mathias got divided, my mind instantly went to "oh shit!!" Mode
who else is here watching the ending because their game crashed, and no audi on the extra credits? I KNOW I AM! .D.
Yeah mine crashed on the owen betrayal
Crashed out of several cut scenes and lost audio in a few as well. I didnt even know owen stole the javelin and betrayed me until he showed up wearing it in a later mission.
this was pretty good, lookin forward to see what they do in the future
I love his CANE AT THE END GLITCHY
So basically...Crackdown 3. Anthem. Metro Exodus. & Far Cry New Dawn all came out in the same week & from what I've seen only Metro has gotten good ratings. Other than Division 2 next month, that seems to be it in the solid game department until the Fall.
Matt D yeah, Metro was dope
Honestly i feel the “old bioware is gone” comments are out of place this feels just as good to me as the mass effect series and kotor.....minus the romances of course which is kinda a let down but....you can get close enough if u know what i mean....either way i believe this game is a gem......the combat....the story.....the loot....and above all that you CAN fly! I dont regret buying this game at all because either alone or with a team im having fun! Just watch my last mixer streams and you guys will see that :) this game replaces destiny for me....its so much better in my opinion.....
Yes there were bugs at launch and during the demos but thats to be expected....they fixed them within days of launch for me and honestly im happy with anthem.....used to destiny gave me this flame but now....anthem has extinguished that flame and reignited something new
Old Bioware is literally gone though. There's almost nobody left of the team that created the games Bioware is known for. Bioware exists in name only.
33:17 The Monitor looks sooo coooool !! 😆
This game didn't live up to the hype imo.
...this game had any hype?
Nathan Lord It really didn’t though lol
Nathan Lord Honestly like 90% of the hype also involved people agreeing how EA butchered it like all their games so I guess if you meant negative hype.
there was hype??? lol
@@Solaxe initially it had a lot of hype on first reveal but as soon as everybody saw EA in the project hype died quick because everybody knew EA more or less was going to destroy it.
looks similar to destiny, which is why i plan on trying it out eventually. even though everyone seems to hate it, i love this style of game!
Ey wtf this game graphics looks amazing. It feels like ur watching a movie
So many people playing the Space Wizard
lolz at the end with the bug where Haluk has two canes somehow...
also, I want the armors that the dudes at 2:52:10 are wearing; I hope we get a chance to acquire it somehow, since I haven't seen anything like it in the promotional materials.
I always enjoyed movies like this one , just not the gaming itself ! I was more of a racing and fighting kind of guy , so shooting games were never my best element ! I always got worked out so fast i just stopped trying .
I mean I see where everyone is coming from , I myself hasn’t played the mass effect series but I do hope people understand that this is a looter shooter. I don’t know what anyone expected
Not this, man. Not this...
Can't I just enjoy a game without people telling me why I shouldn't enjoy it or how it didn't reach the supposed expectations? Is that so hard?
I hear that. It's like nobody can have fun anymore.
No one is forcing you to listen
Perhaps listening to ppl say how they didnt enjoy it or how it's not as good as previous bioware titles could give you an inkling before you make your $60 purchase as to whether or not you'll enjoy it yourself and b satisfied with the massive chunk of money it costs?
But then I can't say much along those lines I really enjoyed mass effect andromeda while everyone shat on that game
Ignore them and think for yourself.
Make your own conclusions. Mine is that Andromeda was still a good Mass Effect game with a hiccup or two (ignoring the bugs).
Ikr
this is the second time i watch a newly uploaded video in RUclips in 360p
Is this what Bioware is bringing to the table these days?
Cheesy dialogue, obnoxious characters and a non-interesting story?
And we're still holding onto hope that Mass Effect will return to it's former glory?
...not with this Bioware it won't.
Agree completely. This doesn't even feel like BioWare Anymore
@Yuh J there are more socially awkward characters in Andromeda and anthem than the whole of dragon age1,2 inquisition, mass effect 1_2_3 combined .
That right there is a cause of worry.
They just need to remaster Mass Effect 1 and I'll be happy :)
I feel like they've gone down the same path as the Wachowski Brothers, err, sister, ehhh, exers...
13 min into this video and I have no clue what the fuck this is about or even care.
Jamilah Razzaq Just remaster the Trilogy.
What is all of this? The game is just a loading screen
Its sad that you had to glitch your way into the game
I think this game could have used some more "backstory" to help fill you in on all what's going on and "why" it is happening. More about the planet and its history. what or how the different factions came into being. etc. The characters are good, and so are the voice actors. But for some reason you don't develop an attachment to the characters, care about what happens to them as much as you would or have in other video games. It's hard to a put a finger on what it is that is missing with the characters. That is the most important thing about a video game think. Creating characters that you actually care about, and what happens to them.
I look at this. I see the great potential this game could have had. And I'm a little sad inside.
well, when you see a cinematic that run at 20FPS you can imagine that the optimization hasn't been the main focus during the last crunch. ^^
Let's get it this game dope. Gamer little playground you're amazing
I’m about 30 minutes in and Owen is already my favorite!
Thank you so much for everything, you save me so much money, is there anywhere I can donate to you?
I like how he said this video would be in 60fps mean while he's running at max 30fps lol
Thanks
1:02 Did the iron Man theme song pop in your head
1:46:37 This sure is the Shard of The Teaveler!!
So much potential in graphics and story ruined by greed in the gameplay
For me. This game action is mix between mass effect andromeda n vanquish
Is this game worth it? I honestly can't tell.
No its not, but get Premier and play it for 1 month.
@@Zladcore Is it just because it's published by EA or is there some things off with the game itself?
It feels very empty after about 5 hours of playing. What killed it for me is that high tier loot is just reskinned lower tier loot. Very few weapon models 😒
@@elementxcod7274 there are huge problems with the game and some that cant be fixed due to engine limitations. That said the world and combat is really nice.

this game is beautiful and had potential. i wish the story and multiplayer was better.
for one like me, who never played this or Destiny but saw these kind of cutscenes, i can't hardly see any difference between this and Destiny. If some would tell me this a slightly different DLC, i would believe it.
Love how everyone turns into a top grade critic when it comes to this game, lots of vague "criticisms" like oversimplifying it then calling it generic, or just mentioning Bioware like that alone is an argument. Fucks sake. I'm glad mass effect died
Seriously very rarely do I see any valid critique. Its always vague or they just don't elaborate at all. Or rehashed inaccurate statements the devs said were wrong 30 times already. Or classic
"EA BAD SO GAME BAD GIBS LIKES PLS"
Nice vid
Thanks!
