Jesus christ who plasterboarded that. Watch you don't lose your trowel in the plasterboard joints. Good job. I have a fall time job and plaster at the weekends for a bit of extra money. You can earn some good money plastering I couldn't do it 5 days a week hats off to you.
The poor soul is knee deep in it towards the end. Fu**ing hardest job on the site mate. I'm only 42 and my back, knees, wrists and more than likely lungs are done in.
it looks very good to me, I want my fireplace done, hence watching vids on this topic. I'll be putting it over modern drywall, hope its not too difficult.
hahah im a nob lol,, plastering in your era as well as the youth of today is for thick kids with no hope of doing a real skilled trade!, it took me 4 yrs to finish my apprenticeship with 20 yrs experience and still learning as joinery is so vast in techniques with a much varied array of tools and the intelligence to use them, as i said plastering is easy!! very easy when you get the feel for it, come try 1st 2nd and final fixing a house, shopfit or refurb, set out foundations!!, you silly billy!
Thats two trowels my friend. Also get a good drill. It will make the job so much easier, coz it will make the plaster slide better. Those small drills over mix the plaster, and tend to knock the life out of it.
didnt see the skimming with 2 hands at the same time , would like to see that , i always knock up a bag and a half lay it back with half the ammount , that way this room becomes two three hour sets , and tarps are great for the floors , thats a TOP tip
I dont know why he would want to start at 12 in the afternoon and do the full room yes he is slow yes he's using drill that could only mix icing sugar but his finish looks decent and seems clean and that's what its about at the end of the day
hi if he is a master plasterer ,then i am a monkey's uncle. 3 skim coats,on a ceiling why? 10 hrs to do a ceiling and a few walls! appalling!! what bonding agent did he use on the walls to be skimmed? please! tell me he used thistle bond-it primer!! regards davy
When doing a ceiling top tip buy a pair of stilts just learn to use them cuts out all the jumping down off the ladder moving it then running back up which may not seem it but saves around a third of my time.
and it is not speed it is quality!! please remember that when you complete a job then another trade will follow you and your name is to the job you have just done, trust me there are very few good plasterers out there!, the quality is below my standard on most builds and the attitude is that of "get the money out of it and f***k off", i will not employ any plasterers due to the fact they will not do the work to my standards and my customers so i do it all myself and make my skilled job easier..
@MightyGimp And yes we all make mistakes and non of us are 100% perfect but certain issues in some videos have to be commented on to help guide people and point out other options that would help. If comments are constantly aimed at particular faults by so many people this usually means it's not normal to be doing it this way.
@MightyGimp i can fully understand that some people might not have the money to get a plasterer in to do the work for them. Most are probably best having a shot at doing it themselves anyway because the sad thing is,is there are alot out there that can not do the job to an acceptable standard..i know many BUT there are some out there that can do a nice job and do care.
@yochimitso let me guess your one of them 1 coater plasterers. well we sack every plasterer that does that as its totally wrong. so if thats the way you do it well done. but i paid my mortage at 38 after 15 years of plastering. bought 5 houses and am semi retired at 38. so ask yourself. who's doing it right ?
if you use blue board srcatch the seams then lay it on then go back and straighten out timing is everything one 12 x12 room with ceilng should take 2 guys less then 4 hours with clean up
One of the biggest trowels ive seen, yet this guys got the smallest arms ive seen on a plasterer. Mind you mega lol at his drill and santa keeping an eye on the buckets haha!
refina mega mixers or eibenstock mixers are regarded as the best, which are basicly the same mixers, as refina import eibenstock mixers from germany and put there own label on them
depends spose on hardwall/bonding 2 hours! 2 coats always none of that 1 coat wonder bollox lol! 2 coats out of 1 bucket of gear its poss i suppose! im mainley a domestic spread so i aint gota rush i go to a job an say that that an that the morn an same in afternoon.nicer finish happy customer! dont need site work get enuff recomendations! ya get me
Seriously, I found this video absolutely hilarious from start to finish - its genius unintentional comedy. Either they are making a Blue Peter show on Plastering or else this is some kind of fantastic sex cult on an off day. Whatever it was - I loved it.
seriously, what is the point of this video? No tips, poorly edited, not clear what and why you're doing, I could go on....... The plasterer doesn't seem to be an expert, to be honest.
good morning. today is valentines day and im going to be spending the day with ERR a gay called Tim & ERR a gay called tony......... WOOOOOOOW STOOOOP!!! what you, Tim and Tony do on valentines day is not to be shared with the world!!!!!
@MightyGimp like i said me making a 5 minute video isn't going to help any1. There are many things to take into consideration depending on what you need and plan to do. This being the certain backrounds you're planning to working on? what and how you should be going about certain types of plaster/sand cement. How you need to prep some backrounds to prevent problems. And a guide to how you should be going about it all,if you would like my advice send me a pm and i'd be glad to give u my advice
anyone can plaster! i tought my son inlaw and it took a day for him to get to grips with the basics and even we could skim that room easily in a day! oh i forgot to say i am a joiner/carpenter any one with any practical skill can plaster with the right tuition, plasterers make out that it is hard so they can sting you when they give a quote!, and before anyone starts i can dot n dab, bond out, render, screed and skim to an experienced plasterers standard, no offence to any plasterers...
What a artist. I love this. Lasts much better than our sheet rock.
oh dear oh dear master plasterer with a mixer no bigger than my yorkshire pudding whisk !!!!!
I like these guys because are so friendly!
Nice one, enjoyed that.. I'm teaching myself plastering, just for the fun of it, always good to see a new video of the art here.
God bless Eileens cake I think it was the best mix of the day
Poor old Tim needs a rent book.Got to be a love job. I hope there's more episodes to come.Very funny👍

Didn't see any sign of a master plasterer working simultaneously with two floats.
The poor soul is knee deep in it towards the end. Fu**ing hardest job on the site mate. I'm only 42 and my back, knees, wrists and more than likely lungs are done in.

Put more than one wall on per mix
That way you won’t be there till stupid-o’clock still troweling up!...
On price I’d have put the whole room on...
Well done mate, doin all the labouring as well
will the tips be in the next episode???
great actors, especially the old chap at the end with the moustache.
am i correct that you mix plaster roughly 50/50
50 water
50 plaster
I TAKE PICTURES OF MY POO WHEN I USE THE LOO AND I LOVE IT I REALLY DO
Thats two trowels my friend. Also get a good drill. It will make the job so much easier, coz it will make the plaster slide better. Those small drills over mix the plaster, and tend to knock the life out of it.

simultaneously with two floats. What does that mean?
I dont know why he would want to start at 12 in the afternoon and do the full room yes he is slow yes he's using drill that could only mix icing sugar but his finish looks decent and seems clean and that's what its about at the end of the day
hi

Who put them boards to the ceiling ? 2 inch gap ?
the guy who's house it is looks like joseph fritzl.
Nice video, shows them doing plenty of mixing and cake eating, but very little actual plastering!
Is this an old episode of Rainbow.
HOW DO YOU USE 2 TROWELS AT THE SAME TIME
When doing a ceiling top tip buy a pair of stilts just learn to use them cuts out all the jumping down off the ladder moving it then running back up which may not seem it but saves around a third of my time.
Looooool master plaster ? Coming from a guy that uses a DIY drill to mix up

i think the dentist will want that drill cleaning b4 you give it him back lol
Good video but man the gaps are humongous does you tape measure work
and it is not speed it is quality!! please remember that when you complete a job then another trade will follow you and your name is to the job you have just done, trust me there are very few good plasterers out there!, the quality is below my standard on most builds and the attitude is that of "get the money out of it and f***k off", i will not employ any plasterers due to the fact they will not do the work to my standards and my customers so i do it all myself and make my skilled job easier..
Wonder what Eileen down the road made " Ill have some" ,, Hey great vid lads.
nice jumper charlie.
I am glad I don't have to work with a little mixer like that.
You could put the entire ceiling on at once man.
Great Video!

did u seriously take 10 hours to finish one room or was there more hidden sum where
3 bags on that ceiling?? its not that big?
if you use blue board srcatch the seams then lay it on then go back and straighten out timing is everything one 12 x12 room with ceilng should take 2 guys less then 4 hours with clean up
Top tip mate....use a bucket trowel not 'yer finishin trowel'
i enjoyed this, cheers :)
20 plus years plastering & I have not seen anything as funny as this & the comments are hilarious, but the finish looks ok lads
The Pizza looked nice! although i wouldn't want to eat it if tims two float troweling the ceiling above everyone.
3 bags just for that ceiling?? too much!!
The place I work sells multifinish and the buckets they are using :P
top tip: never store your bags of plaster on the floor, especially outside, use a pallette
What tips?
Comedy gold ! 😂😂😂😂
Why did the ceiling need three bags.
cosworthjn2 could have been all shapes so leveling the ceiling would eat through the plaster
One of the biggest trowels ive seen, yet this guys got the smallest arms ive seen on a plasterer. Mind you mega lol at his drill and santa keeping an eye on the buckets haha!
master plasterer? two trowels at the same time, my arse.... oh yeah and i bumped into elvis the other day.....wahwahwah
Reminds me of League of Gentlemen!
Why's he using an egg whisk ?
Ha Ha Ha Derek your so funny !! Work in progress is the truest thing the guy said !!
Muppets !
TIP: buy a combination ladder!!
LIE: 2 Floats at the same time ( and it still took him 11 hrs ) (plus cleaning time!)
JOKE: ......"master plasterer"
I want to thank you for your comment.... because even though im learning what to do,i also need to know what NOT to do.
refina mega mixers or eibenstock mixers are regarded as the best, which are basicly the same mixers, as refina import eibenstock mixers from germany and put there own label on them

The video is worth it just for the guy promising to handle and fires that might break out in the water buckets.
Good job

Seriously, I found this video absolutely hilarious from start to finish - its genius unintentional comedy. Either they are making a Blue Peter show on Plastering or else this is some kind of fantastic sex cult on an off day. Whatever it was - I loved it.

that ceiling will crack, double skrim tape will not help, you could of had it finished earlier if you had started at half 7-8
whats a master plasterer.
That's some mixing drill....lol
he might be slow but his works nice and neat, just having a laugh
He works with 2 floats?? U mean he owns 2 lol
Why did he start so l8 in the day? Wud u not rather start at 8am and finish at 6pm. Strange man
Lol 🤣
my god i could put that room on in 2 hits with the lid !!ha ha how many bags
no plasterer worth his salt uses a trowel that big,its the mark of a chancer thinking it will be quicker or/and better.
11 hrs to do that room plus prep mixing plastering cleaning. thats a days work there give the guy a break
@MightyGimp like i said me making a 5 minute video isn't going to help any1.

10 hours on a room like that is a bit over the top. and 3 bags of gear on 1 average sized ceiling?
haha i thought the YTS SCHEME stopped in the late 90's.
btw that trowel is ridiculous
