    Jay, you're a great presenter and I wish more people would experience your videos. Heading to Taiwan in 2 weeks so watching your "Best of..." vids has been helpful! Do you have any leads on the best board game shops in Taipei to find these gems?

    • @CardboardEast
      @CardboardEast  Год назад

      陽光 is where you wanna go. They have two locations. Taipei though has over 1000 bg cafes. Just Google 桌遊 and you should find plenty.
      You’ll get the best deals on Shopee though, which is an e-commerce site.
      You could also contact publishers directly. I’d recommend doing so on FB for the fastest response 👍

    18:15 NO WAY!!!!! I made the comment that the publisher of Dadaocheng probably also did Formosa Tea and I wasn't going to look it up, but wait and see, and boom I was right. I had never heard of this game, and The Dice Tower did a best board game covers bracket video and this game was in there, and did very well. Literall watched that video and found a copy to buy. Sadly still haven't played it.....BUT I can't wait too! Very excited.

      Oh wow! I had no idea the Dice Tower had a board game cover bracket! That sounds too fun! Have fun with your copy! It's great!

    Electropolis is a solid game. Played it twice I believe and each time it had some good chunky decisions.

      I was really impressed with how smooth the gameplay felt and how smoothly balance of popularity and pollution were integrated in to the gameplay. Great game.

    Hey!! I own 5 in this section too! 8,7,6,5,1! Ok, technically 4 since one hasn't delivered from kickstarter yet....and one we just got at Gencon and there may be an unboxing going up on my channel this week! 😊

      It should! I’m sure if you contact Taiwan Boardgame Design or EmperorS4, they would be more than happy to bring some copies for you.

    Roundhouse rules leave a lot of questions left. Most are like: how does this power interact with that. Or am I allowed to do this.

    • @CardboardEast
      @CardboardEast  Год назад

      I feel that. Although I didn’t have those issues, I understand many others did.

      @@CardboardEast hi thank you for the reply. i have a lot of the asian games. and a few of them i can not understand the rules, so they become unplayable. for roundhouse i know the rules but somtimes i forgot a specific thing. and the specific thing is not clearly mentiond in the rules and then its gues work.. even asking it on bgg does not always help. well if i have a question about roundhous i gues i could ask you. a other thing about roundhous, i wanted to get expansions but there unoptainable. my main source of asian games is Essen. are you gona be at essen this year? if so, hope to see you there.

      @@Dawn_Mage Sadly I will not be at Essen this year, but if you want the expansions for Round House I’d suggest reaching out to EmperorS4. They may have some lying around their office. I’m sure they’d be more than happy to sell them to you.

      I have a special place on my shelve for boardgames from Asia. Here in Europe it's like pure economics when it comes to boardgames. I get a more energetic vibe from Asia, more passion and love for the boardgame. @@CardboardEast

    Are there any solo friendly good games from Taiwan?

    • @CardboardEast
      @CardboardEast  Год назад

      Excellent question! Worthy of its own list! Jiangnan & Mini Express both have AI bots allowing you to play solo with multiple players. Rescue Polar Bears is a coop game, so it naturally lends itself for solo play. Not featured in my Top 20, but I’d recommend Pocket Master Builder as a strong solo game.

      Have you tried the latest version of the rules? It’s a subtle change, but much better. boardgamegeek.com/filepage/150044/mini-park-english-rulebooks

      @@CardboardEast Well, it seems that the rules I have are the same, unless I'm missing something. I went to the link, clicked on the most upper (recent) file, and I read it all with the rules I have in my hands. I see the "Score Victory Points" section is slimmed down to simply say, "score one point for each tile the new one is connected to" which is probably the change you are mentioning. There is a visual change regarding step 7 of the setup, and the tiles on my copy are shown face up, even though it says to ranomly place them. And in the BGG file the tiles are facedown. If that is it, then thanks for sharing!
