That's true fun to watch.... May I ask if this car still has the stock gearbox fitted in ? I guess you are entering EauRouge in 5th at around 175/180 km then I don't understand whether you are just lifting or also downshifting, as I can see you're around 145km out of Raidillon Thx for sharing !
What do I need to do to my engine e to be able to turn 7500 rpm I know the work. I didnt think the crank and it's strange weights would take it. Thanks
@@stephans.4571The stock cranks really aren't capable of 7500rpm. Too long a stroke on the 2.5l, combined with only 4 main bearings. The 2.0l will go to 8000rpm, but you're looking at a billet crank to get reliably over 6500rpm on the 2.5l.
@@BiTurbo228 So you broke a Std. crank going above 6500min? The problem that occurs at high engine speeds with 95mm stroke comes from piston speed, not with the crankshaft or bearings. We discovered exessive piston wear at engine speeds around 8000/min. With engine speed limited to 7500/min (that is 23,75m/sec. piston speed) we were back in the safe zone
Fantastic video, best in-car view I've seen, so much information on full screen, great sound & great driving, just wow!
Thanks :-)
The Triumph Six for all it's old design is a wonderful thing
I done a lot to my own TR6 engine, but this engine - being a long stroke engine- is really performing very well. So responsive, well done!
Michael, du bist ein echter Gentleman Driver, super gefahren und immer fair und freundlich

Outstanding driving in a well prepared racer. The engine sounded glorious. Thanks for making this video available..
Fantastic. If I took mine to 7000rpm most of the engine wouldn't be in the engine bay anymore.
Straight sixes sound the best !
Absolutely. They are perfectly and harmonically perfect

This car sounds fantastic at 7500rpm Nice driving there.
+Tracing Triumph
Thanks. The car is owned by my team mate, he also built the powerful engine in his company. He's specialised to old GB engines...
+MichaelS997 So what are now the specifications of this engine?
It's a 2.700cm³ 6-stroke engine with mechanical injection system and 230 HP at 7000 rpm.
hi all ! MichaelS997 could you tell me the name of your friend's company ,am looking to prepare my MK3 engine.Thx ;)
Awesome!

Thx for sharing !
No, gearbox is not stock. It's a 4-speed dockbox.
In Eau Rouge I'm shifting down to 3rd gear, then back to 4th...
@@MichaelS997 Thanks for the infos :-)
Is that an original engine, or a whole swap-out?
Sounds Turbo and Straight cut teeth gearbox..
It's an original engine with many modifications, whatever is allowed within the regulation.
No turbo, naturally aspirated.
Gearbox is a dog box.
sounds like he needs another gear.. NICE job building that engine
No wonder it is in Kilometers!
tr6 revving to 7200?..wow..140 mph top..wow again

Why shouldn't it? It is of a good EN16 steel, is forged and has sufficient counterweights. So the bearing forces stay moderate.

Thrust Washer would need a 360 conversion!
I think thé figures shown on the speedo en tacho are fake (too optimistic)
Why should they be fake ? They are totally true !!!
Disagree! 200KPH is only about 120 mph. It looked a lot faster than that to me!
Correct, it's kph (not mph).
