Today Meg and I hoped on a plane back to Stockholm Sweden to catch up with our old friends from when we used to live out there pre-covid. Our holiday just happened to fall on the same weekend of the annual Winterrun 5k and 10k races around Skansen, the largest open air museum in Europe. The freezing temperatures made for a challenging course with the main aim for the majority of the course was staying upright. Was great fun nonetheless. "There 's a hill that goes up.. " love it!
Descriptions are my specialty 😂
Love it😅🙌
The bag you got is from Silva, an old Swedish brand that invented the modern compass.
Congratulations on a strong finish. 33 minute 10 k is an incredible time. Thank you for taking us along with your stay in Stockholm.
Thanks Andrew! A few more videos to come from Sweden :)
@@BenIsRunning I’m excited to view them.
Took it easy and still smashed the competition 💥 congratulations and well done 👏🏻
Wohooooo. Congratulations. Totally Amazing. Keep it up
Legend! Great to catch up pal! :) I managed to keep up with you for all of 5 seconds at the start!
It certainly was mate! Up to Norwich tomorrow, will say hello to your hometown for you
Awesome stuff Ben! Super strong running! 💥
Thanks guys! I certainly missed the coffee when I was on holiday 😂
Well done Ben great running as always. Love the lights amazing 🤩
Where did ginger place?
Thanks James, I think 9th :)
Congratulations well done Ben 👍, indeed that was a bit scary course
Thank you! I’m very lucky to not have slipped but I was taking the corners very cautiously
Wow Ben! Looks like quite an adventure. I also know running in the dark is a LOT more challenging than day time. It is hard to gauge your pace and the footing is always iffy. I think I am more jealous of your food though! That definitely looked delicious! Enjoyed the race recap and the travelogue. I always tune into your channel for motivation to train and run hard.
Thanks Eddie! Hope your training is going well
great little film, congrats for the win! as a brit living in Sweden I'd happily take the Icebug voucher, you can't beat spiked shoes for this time of year
I actually ended up giving it to another Brit friend who lives out there! All the best with your training
Congratulations on the win, Ben! Well done! Cheers from Canada, Scott
Thanks as always scott! Hope your well over the pond
Congrats on the 1st place, really enjoyed this video was good to see some background on the city .
Thanks Peter! Stockholm is one of my favourite places to run even when it’s this cold :)
Looks like a super fun and unique race. I love the vibe. Well done on the win, Ben.
Yeah it’s definitely an experience :)
Interesting race that! Well done on the win!
I say bring back the hair and no tash! Looked suave!
Well done Ben. Looked a pretty gnarly course there!
Thank you! Gnarly is definitely a good way to describe it 👊🏻
Congrats Ben well deserved
Thank you :)
Congratulations on your win Ben 👏🏃♂and Stockholm looks absolutely stunning 💚
Thanks phil! It’s a beautiful place to visit
10 days with no ben videos that was no bueno!
as always brilliant effort. hope you're enjoying your holiday.
Sorry bro! Plenty coming in the next week as I play catch up
Everyone who made it round without slipping and suffering third degree burns smashed it. What an oddly dangerous race format.
Well Ben, another great one. You make it look so easy even when you "take it easy" :)
Thanks Ken! It was harder than it looked I promise!
well done ben. you smashed it. well done on coming first :)
Thanks Bradley!
well done ben! i was waiting for this
Thanks mate! Hopefully be back to regular uploads now…got 3 waiting to be edited 😂
@@BenIsRunning ah thats great news!

Loved this, great vibe and looks like everyone is having a great time. Congrats on the win
Thanks! It was a great trip :)
Suffered a knee injury recently (had to give up rugby) and been waiting for this to keep my spirits up, didn't disappoint. Running my first competitive half in May, very inspiring. Thank you Ben 🙌
Sorry to hear about your injury! Hope your training is going well
This is literally like like one of your old vids in Stockholm and vlogging
(Used to be subbed on a different account)
It definitely has my more old skol style! I’m curious what my newer subscribers think to the more vlog style. I personally love making videos like this. I had no idea people who watched my vids a few years ago were still watching now. Appreciate the long term support 👊🏻
I like these vlog vids but make sure there is still some running in like this but I love seeing more of your personality
@@lewislittlewood6685 thanks for the feedback!
Congrats on your win;)
Oh man, 2 of my best mates are Swedish and this has made me miss Fika with them 😂
Loved watching this one 🥰
💋
Great race Ben, and a great vlog as ever! 20k is close! 🍿 🥤 👀…
Thanks SIFI, hopefully before the end of this month 🤞🏻
Taking the W’s overseas, well done champ
Thanks James! Doing it for Chelms Ford 😂
videos are just getting better and better!! great race :)
Thanks Russel, appreciate the feedback
My god, a "semla" before the run Ben?! A little risky for my taste. 😀
I had two 😂 carb loading ;)
Great stuff Ben. Hair and no tash look should make a come back?
Thanks David! Maybe one day :)
Brilliant 🙌🏻
Thank you nick :)
Hi Ben, love the vids, where’s your favourite place you’ve been running?
Stockholm is certainly number one for me
Great run! We truly enjoy going on these journeys with you. Was wondering what long sleeve and gloves your wore for the race? We’ve had some 5ks in sub freezing here In Georgia 🥶
You're a very likeable guy Ben!
Thanks, appreciate that :)
Hehe, you literally walked by where I work. Great race!
Also, no shoes on ice!!! You'll spread gravel and gunk that ruins ice skates 🤨 Just like you don't walk in skiing tracks.
Noted, thanks 🙏
Super good
You should let your hair grow again. 😉
Well done with the 10k.
Machine. 👍🏻
Maybe one day! Thanks 🙏
Swedish friends !!
Inbetweeners reference 😂
You looked loads better with hair xD 00:47
bloody hell. i mean, bloody hell. jesus. Pass me the cheese and onion Lays..
Guy in second place was really angry!
Oops :)
Where's that singlet you raced in from Ben?
I brought it from eBay, I don’t think it’s authentic to be honest but loved the design
Woah, Ben used to have hair!!
I did, should I grow it back 😂
@@BenIsRunning less aerodynamic though if you grow it back🤷♂️
do you think the bald head helped with aerodynamics?
100%
2nd place dude didn't take it well :)
Yeah he wasn’t best pleased by the looks of things
Why shave your head? You have really nice hair! I’ve lost all of mine and miss it dearly.
It’s just more practical for me. Maybe I’ll grow it back one day
Please hit me up for the icebug voucher, make great orienteering shoes!
I actually ended up giving it to a friend who lives out there! Hopefully he can make more use out of it
