Awesome, I've been in IT for almost 20 years and only realised now from your video that I could type cmd in the file explorer bar to open command line in that folder 🤯 live and learn.
In his old video, when I was getting the blocks by opening bitcoind, all of the blocks went into my main hard drive instead of SSD. Do you know a solution to this?
OMG what a great tutorial. Extremely thanks. 1 - I was wondering, i was making on linux, but its so usefull to copy/paste on windows and BOOM you have an image in blockchain, in linux how could you do that, have an idea? 2 - You told us how to mint yours own inscription, but how do I mint another one, we gonna have several inscriptions out there, what the command to mint another people runes?
Whished i saw you 1 year ago xD but its still 8 days lets see if i can setup a new Node for that. One question : how can i transfer stuff from that node-taproot to... lets say my xverse ?
Honestly, there's too much room for error, I would just import the Ord Wallet into Xverse haha. However, I plan on making that a part of the next video.
King 👑 Just a doubt So when I want to mint say for example a token named "Cat" on runes which is launched by someone else ? Do I type --mainnet wallet mint --fee-rate 10 -- rune CAT ? How do I write the command ?
Can you index ord while bitcoind is still synching? Or do you have to wait til bitcoind is finished first? Also, could you make a vid on how to use Greg's index?
you have to wait. how else will ord refer to the transactions if there are no transactions to look at? haha it’s very easy to use just download it with a torrent client and replace your old ord index with the files downloaded.
Paz, I need your help from your other video where you set up your nodes in the SSD. All of the blocks went into my main hard drive instead of my SSD. It completely filled my main hard drive, and the file became too large to transfer to SSD. I had to delete it. Every time I retry, it still goes to main hard drive. Idk how to fix.
Thanks for the video! How long approximately does it take for bitcoind to finish running for validating the transactions? I never created a shortcut, but had it in the new directory running. Does anyone know if i should stop the process and repeat?
Amazing video! You helped me setting up my node early 2023 for Ordinals too! I have a question about Runes, would be great if you can help me with: I saw that you minted with fee rate of 10. Is there any way to increase the fee rate of a mint already broadcasted? (useful in case where there is a very long block and fees keep rising). Thanks a lot!!!
It'd require using Sparrow, recommendation to avoid this is to just pay the highest amount of fees you're willing to pay and use previous date to anticipate the amount required for fees.
@@pazNGMI makes sense, thanks for that! Btw, in regards to minting many times without waiting for confirmation, thats possible to do even if I have only 1 UTXO in the wallet? If thats the case then I suppose ord is using the unconfirmed change as an input to the following mint?
Sorry for the question that may sound stupid, is there a way to download what bitcoind goes to? I had read about possible torrents but couldn't find anything, if so could you help me? Thank you very much and thanks for the video
Excuse me, could you help me? When I put the command " ord --cookie-file "A:\Bitcoin ode\.cookie" --index-runes --index-sats server " in cmd, the ord is being downloaded to my main ssd C:, How can I change?
I installed my node using bitcoin -qt. I moved the ord file to my deamon folder and when I run the cmd I get the ord version (I believe it means its installed). But when I try to indexing I get an error. I start following your previous tutorial, but looks like I'm downloading the whole block again. It feels like I need to do the whole process again (that took me a few days). Do you have any suggestions to help me?
I have no experience with the latest versions and don't know what has changed, so I personally stick with the older version. I probably won't switch until there is an update where it's needed.
hey paz im having issues with the cookie files and where to find it I also see you are using btc core v24 and I am using 25 does that make a difference, and also I saw that we will need ord v18.1 indexed to be able to run runes, ik you just made a video for it but anychance you can help or make a quick video on how to idex that or how to fix the cookie file missing, thank you for all of your hard work appreciate it!
always get the latest version of Ord is my recommendation! Bitcoin Core is more up to you though as 24.0.1 and up is compatible with any version of Ord so far.

Hi, thanks for all your videos. I'm new to the area but I got it thanks to your channel
Great video thanks, for next video you could add also how to transfer, and even maybe more low level tech details!
Can I follow this with Umbrel Home to setup?
cool bro..will try now
around how many GB of SSD do you need for the total process? Love the vid
Including the Ord Index (if you don't choose to do it on your Main Drive) around 800GBs

Hi Paz, I keep getting 'Cache size exceeds total space' Is there anything I can do to avoid this issue? it stops..
I have pc laptop but not the memory...would a 1TB external drive still work if I connected it to the laptop? noon question I know :P
What happens if I download the version of bitcoin core (Latest version: 26.1) will it work the same?
The mint is it free or we must have bitcoin
how can we do this with an ssh terminal connection no gui
So do you need to run a node to mint runes?
Is it too late? Just got a 2TB drive in....
Amazing tutorial! Any chance to get the same for Linux ubuntu?
I notice the BTC Node you downloaded is version 24 when the latest version is 26. We should download the latest version right?

you have to run the bitcoin node to see the cookie file. he also mentions how to start indexing around 6:20, open a new command prompt for the index.
Buying a game rune. Not sure how I’ll make money if any
amazing
y core 24.0.1 and not 27?
is the steps the same on Mac ?
how much bitcoin do I need to get this going?
my wallet create is not working. any help on this?
it keeps saying '--cookie-file' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
is 1TB SSD drive enough space to host it? cheers

do we need to download the latest version or does that matter?

bro do you think we would need 1000s of dollars to play in the first day of runes launch
do whatever you're comfortable gambling with and potentially losing. it's a casino
Crank the audio volume my guy. You're at like 50% volume of the average youtube video and my speakers are already kind of low. This vid is impossible.
And how to setup on Macbook? :))
i’m wondering the same
my bitcoind and ord command prompts shutdown without doing ctrl+c because my pc restarted itself, is it a problem?
Ord command prompt will require you to repair your index. Took like 10 mins for mine to do so
