  • The WaveMind Amp Suite Rev F is a guitar amp simulator that closely recreates the iconic Dual Rectifier Rev F from the '90s. Here are the key features:
    1. Authentic Sound: Powered by WaveMind’s new modeling engine, this plugin captures the essence of the classic amplifier. It offers three channels: Green (clean), Orange, and Red (high gain modern tones).
    2. Channel Cloning: You can customize each channel to have either a modern or vintage sound.
    3. Mic Placement Simulation: Precisely position your virtual microphone even after recording. You can also blend this with custom impulse responses.
    4. 7-Band EQ: Shape your tone exactly as you prefer.

    Rectofire is a amp modeling plugin by Mercuriall Audio. It’s based on the legendary MESA/Boogie Dual Rectifier Blackface, Rev G from the '90s. Here are the key features:
    1. Dual Rectifier Emulation: Captures the iconic sound of the Dual Rectifier, known for its versatile tones from vintage rock to modern high-gain.
    2. Gain Pot Mod: Includes the popular 1 meg gain pot mod, which is optional for each channel.
    3. Neural Hybrid Engine: Utilizes version 3.0 of Mercuriall’s Neural Hybrid Engine for realistic amp modeling.
    4. Module Customization: You can freely move and switch off preamp/poweramp modules as needed.
    5. Built-in Effects: Comes with various effects like distortion, compressor, EQ, chorus, delay, and reverb.

    Do you remember exactly which IR you used here? I see you've listed York Audio but they have so many! Loving this tone

      @@rauloliveiragt why use different IRs? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of a comparison between two amp sims?

    • @rauloliveiragt
      @rauloliveiragt  2 месяца назад

      @@Stargazerz good question! Here's the answer: i ALWAYS use real life settings on the new gen virtual amplifiers... so if i want the amp to sound brighter or darker, then it's up to the IR.
      I don't like going crazy when it comes to dialing because that's not how i do it when i'm using real amps, specially mesa rectifier, i don't like going too far from noon.

    Hi, with your experience, which Amp do you recommend as a first purchase? something that sounds real and is not too expensive...thanks.

      Mercuriall plugins are the most realistic when it comes to dialing and sound, thanks to their Neural Hybrid 3.0 engine. You can really dial like in real life, also feels like in real life (there are still a few missing details from the picking attack, but still better than Neural DSP).
      Wavemind sounds nice when you press play, but the feeling of playing in real time is nothing like the feeling of playing through a real amp.
      All these amps are made with IRs in mind, like Ownhammer, York Audio and so on... But if you use Ola Englund's IRs, then something weird will happen to your sound. The only amp sim that will sound right with Ola Englund's IRs and also sounds right with all the other IRs is the Two Notes Genome!
      Genome offers a wider range of amps, pedals, effects, studio grade tools and the Two Notes Torpedo Wall of Sound cabinets. They sound and feel great, plus, Genome supports captures for AIDA-X and NAM. All these features in a single plugin!

      @@rauloliveiragt Interesting. In this comparison WaveMind clearly sounds better to me, I know both plugins, Rev F is closer to me in terms of sound but it also depends on the mix, not to mention the choice of IR.

    bad mix, fizzy as hell

    • @rauloliveiragt
      @rauloliveiragt  Месяц назад

      @@PASHKULI that's how the rectifier sounds right out of the box, when you don't mix it, that's the raw sound. It’s really fizzy, so you can have a glue on how close to the real thing it is. No mixed at all. I don't like mix ready sound plugins, so you're looking for mix ready tones, then you're kinda at the wrong channel... By the way, there's a "in context/full band" mixed video here in my channel if you wanna go check, if not just thanks for the comment, that makes the algorithm fall in love with my channel!

      @@rauloliveiragt Ah, got it. It is a raw sound. Makes sense. I do not know. With NAM most of the time the sounds are pretty much mix ready. Amp sims are slowly dying.
