    That time lapse of the clouds up on hurricane ridge was beautiful ❤️ Reminds me of your Guadalupe Peak hike/vlog as you got above the clouds. That last hike looked amazing, I'm all about some kind of reward (like amazing views) if I'm going to have to work hard on a hike, and that view was stunning. I obviously did Olympic NP all wrong many years ago when I visited, I wasn't a fan, but you guys have shown me what I should have been doing!

      There is no better feeling than popping above the clouds! We have had many situations where the clouds didn’t go away, so it’s very exciting when they do. What all did you do when you visited Olympic National Park? It’s such a diverse park (which we love!) and we have so much left to explore.

      @@AdventuresofAplusK Wow, now you've got me looking at a map - it was coming up to 10 years ago! We drove over from Mt. Rainier and stopped off to do the tiny river trail at at the Queets camp spot. That was decent - very rain-forest-esque. We continued onto Forks (it was 2010 and the height of the Twilight obsession for many) but quickly realised no one in our group was particularly interested in Twilight... The next day we did a badly planned hike from Sol Duc trailhead out to Deer Lake, and looped back via Mink Lake. Someone in our group mis-calculated the distance, so mentally we were not prepared for how long it was. The walk to the falls was beautiful, but after that, things became repetitive - just tree after tree after tree. Many of the girls in our group hadn't taken enough water either. The plan had been to chill in the hot springs after the hike, but as it was much later than planned and spirits had plummeted, we headed back to the camp ground. The next day we headed for Seattle, so really did the park an injustice! The coast looked amazing, and we should have picked a trail with better views like what you guys did!

      We actually haven’t visited most of those stops! There’s SO much to see there it would take many weeks, but the spots that we shared on the vlog are some of our go-to’s! The Hoh Rainforest is also pretty magical!

Have gone to Hurricane Ridge many times but have never seen the clouds like that before! Beautiful! Did you ever go see "The Big Cedar Tree" off of Hwy 101? Beautiful area and HUGE tree! Loved the hike to the waterfall, so pretty!! Thanks again : )

It’s also first come first serve so you’ll have a better chance to get one, as most reservations would be full. • @AdventuresofAplusK

      Hi! That area is a bit desolate compared to some other areas on the peninsula. Do you plan to visit other areas as well? Forks is a good spot with some amenities and about 1.5 hours from Cape Flattery (but close to many other things!) Hobuck Beach Resort would likely be the closest option though!

    My boyfriend and I plan to go on a roadtrip in PNW in October/November and stay on camp grounds there, but I'm so scared of bears :( Am I overthinking or can it be dangerous there, bear-wise?

    • @AdventuresofAplusK
      @AdventuresofAplusK  3 года назад +1

      We actually never saw a bear in our three years living in the PNW! We know they are out there, but most hikes we did never had reports of any. We like to carry bear spray to be safe and would suggest never having food in your tent.

    • @AdventuresofAplusK
      @AdventuresofAplusK  3 года назад +1

      Also, the bears in WA are black bears, which are the less aggressive ones. We get nervous about wildlife in nature too, but if you learn what to do in case you have an encounter, come prepared, make noise on the trail, and do proper food storage, you’ll be safe!
