Hello! I've been subbed since the day you did Hi Ren, but I only got through that and the Tales before I had a horrible flare. I have ankylosing spondylitis. Simply put, is a disease of the spine and pelvis. An autoimmune disease, which causes inflammation of the tendons and ligaments attached to the spine and pelvis, which then become ossified (turned to bone) slowly over time. There's lots more, but that's the very base of the disease. Today I was finally able to at least finish your Ren playlist! I adore your reactions! I did want to tell you about this disease for a reason. I needed you to know that not everything in life can be overcome by sheer will. Believe me, I tried! I've always been an overachiever, and a very stubborn one at that! I fought this disease for YEARS. I've had it 20 years. I've been bedridden for 7 now. Fighting this disease made me miserable. I'd cry in the shower every morning, afraid of how I could make it through the day. I worked in the O.R. at a children's hospital, as a scrub nurse. I assisted in surgery every day, all day long. Longest one I assisted in was a lung transplant that took 14 hours. I did that for ten years, but I couldn't stay on my feet all day anymore. I switched to working for a friend who owned a glass shop, which I loved! I eventually stopped working in 2018, when I just couldn't drag myself in any more. It devastated me. I thought about the terrible S word for a long time. Luckily, I couldn't go through with it, because I would just be handing my pain over to my husband and children. Then I found Ren. Shortly after he posted Hi Ren, my husband and I watched it together. We were both stunned. Over the following week, I watched every video he had! Him, The Big Push, Trick the Fox (his first band) and I even found a couple different older vlog channels he had! He really changed me. I've learned to relax, and accept where I am. I still have bad days, but overall, I've found happiness in the life I have now! I'm still stuck in bed, which is so incredibly tough, but I have learned to be grateful for what I do have. My amazing, supportive husband who would do anything for me, and my two beautiful, smart, funny children! My youngest just turned 18 in Dec. It's been so hard, but because of Ren and my family, I've been able to make it through. It was so much fun watching Ren post his songs for his Sick Boi album, and then rushing to his twitch stream to talk with him about them! Then going through the games for money game, and watching the winners explore that island off of Scotland! He just did so many amazing things! I really hope he gets back to that point with his health. It broke my heart when he relapsed. I've gone on long enough, you'll hear more of his story from other Renegades! God bless you! I agree there are some things we cannot change. Sometimes it's not about our circumstances but how we deal with them. I mgiht suggest watching Katherine Wolf who's life got turned upside down when she was in the middle of a modeling career. She speaks on embracing her tragedy and using it to help inspire others. It was only after her stroke she was given the largest modeling job of her life for a company that raises awareness for people like her and since then shes written many books and changed so many lives. I believe in you just as much as her. As long as we still have oxygen in our lungs we have a chance to change the world, if not one step at a time. Thank you for sharing! I appreciate you being here!

Cherophobia is the fear of being happy, so Ren slaps the shit out of the chair with a purpose. I love that you love Ren, and we've shown up because you're a good one and you genuinely enjoy his art, and we see and appreciate that! Chinchilla is DOPE, you should check more of her out! All three featuring various combinations of Ren and The Big Push. The Big Push are all spectacularly good musicians and spectacularly good mates - a perfect mix making stellar music.
The first time I listened to this I got the message about chalk outlines and how they denote death, and I thought it was amazing. During the second listen the coin dropped that it's a song about medication, and the chalky texture of pills, and how we medicate for depression and anxiety and everything else, and often the side effects of those drugs make us feel numb and stripped of passion for anything that we love. "We float around in these walking chalk outlines". Then I knew it was genius. Great reaction broski

Power (more uplifting and a total bop), Love Music 1-4 (they don't need to be in order, but it's kind of fun to hear his progression through them), Murderer (there's a live and an acoustic version and they're very different from each other), Losing It (Fisher rap version) and Uninvited. With The Big Push - I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop and War Pigs (Black Sabbath Cover) - both of these should be the versions with Ren in red suspenders because it's the best sound quality, Bongo Bong and I would add Englishman in New York. You thought a song called “Chalk Outlines” would be happy? Oh poor Steven. You definitely weren’t ready then 😅 These two are the best musical “siblings”. Ren has called her his sister from another mister and a female version of himself due to their similar approach to music. For me I think it shows in the fact that they both have that something special that draws you in and demands attention. To see it fully for Chinchilla, check out her live version of Fingers. This song always reminds me that one of the (many) things that makes Ren so great is his ability to know exactly when to be complex, keep it simple, or even use silence to get his message across. He isn’t flexing his guitar skills in this, just playing exactly what is needed with that beautiful guitar tone. And my favourite line in this is so simple, totally devoid of all the clever metaphors that he is so good at using, but it hits soooo hard: “I’m scared of being okay cause all things change”. I think anyone who has been through any struggles can relate to that feeling of not trusting that anything good will last. You can’t just enjoy it because you’re busy worrying about how long it will last and the feeling that will come when it’s gone. And then good days just make the darkness feel so much worse because you remember the light that’s gone… Ren is so special. He keeps being so relatable that it reminds us that we’re not alone. And we will always make room for more RENegades down the Ren rabbit hole cause we all need his light in the darkness 🐰🕳️ If you want more emotional singing from Ren, please check out one of my personal favourites: Crutch feat. Bibi. It’s an older song from before he was finally correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease and was written after a breakdown following multiple emergency trips to the hospital. It is heart wrenching and beautiful. And very different from everything else in his catalogue. Or if you need a happier track for a little break, try out Power ❤

I'm so happy you did this one, Steven! It's one of my favorites. The line "I'm scared of being okay cause all things change" is so true. Sometimes we get comfortable and complacent in the darkness, it's the devil you know and if we have a good day we automatically believe the darkness is going to creep back in and consume us.

We struggled to find the issues and parented in ways I’m not so proud of at least at times throughout the years 😞 and then now looking back I really see them whew 😭. ❤❤We finally started seeing there was just this “something” and began to look for Drs to help us because something didn’t seem mmm I don’t like any of the words used to describe here…so I’ll just say mamas gut kept saying there’s something we’re missing. I should mention we have 4 sons and he is the youngest. So a mamas (Papas too 😉) gut is NEVER wrong but also he was the 4th so we had A LOT of experience and began to realize how different things were in several areas that just didn’t seem like the this is his own personality. Idk we just knew. We cried and cried for years trying to find him help and no one would help us. So we were almost in the opposite position of many. It’s like the things happening and his behaviors and struggles (or “wiggles” 😉) wasn’t “serious” enough to garner help. ❤❤FINALLY we found a Dr to help. Now obviously most of us can believe the medication is DEFINITELY NOT always the answer. But this poor little guy was struggling so bad. He was only 4 at this time …but you could see the ticks were definitely not your run of the mill “he’s just a young a boy”…and so after much prayer and many opinion we decided to try mediation out. 🙌 😭 I will NEVER forget it ~~man I can’t type it through these tears 😭. I asked him “how he was doing?”, on day 1 of the first med and he looked at me with this HUGE smile~~~ gah dang it 😭 ~~~so he looked at me just beaming and said in his ever sweet 4 yr old oh so innocent voice “Mama I’m doing SOOO great!! My brain isn’t like commercials anymore it’s like a whole tv show maybe even a movie and it’s so much quieter mama thank you!” My word if that is not the perfect depiction of what A LOT of us ADHDers at minimum feel. Gosh out of the mouth of babes. ❤❤my son is actually the reason I was diagnosed AuDHD as well. After researching and researching I found the website Asperger’s Experts. I binged as much as I could. When my husband walked in the door I look at him and started sobbing. 😭 I said I found his other condition and I should be tested too. Asperger’s well and then we learned AuDHD it is (my son and I still prefer this term it’s okay if anyone doesn’t though just our preference 😉) They put me on a ADHD med shortly after and my husband came home the 1st day of my med and was like “Honey are you okay?!” Puzzled I said, ya why?” 🤨 He said because you’re watching tv and it appears to be the end of the episode. Without even realizing it I had been sitting there chilling through 3 episodes of a tv show and was able to relax and just rest my mind and body for the 1st time. I again began to sob. It was so beautiful! Now my son and I call it our “unique awesomeness”. 🙌 👏 Btw that son is now 21 and a junior at college and has held a job for 3 years in CUSTOMER SERVICE at that 😳!! Not to sound well~ ^ whatever over generalization of negative etc etc someone might think ~ tbh at several points in his childhood and adolescence we weren’t sure if he’d ever be able to leave home, go to college, be able to hold a job etc because it was REAL ROUGH on him and tbh us to as his parents before we figured out all the things he needed help with and then figuring out what to do wth it all those years after diagnosis. He is absolutely WINNING in life and is so happy. We are so close now and really teach each other A LOT!! It’s amazing how a kiddo can teach your as much as you him. ❤My point he still has pretty severe OCD and tics also but he fights through them so well especially since we now understand and can be so much more present and helpful now that we understand. Here's a fun fact, Ren and Chinchilla only went through the song a couple times before recording this video. And not only is it a long shot, but a single shot, they only needed to record it once. For less emotional songs, or well… they are emotional in their own way, but more "stand up and fight" than "everything hurts" if that makes sense? Either way, one of my favourites that gets you pumped would be Animal Flow. But like others have recommended, Power and Murderer are great too. Oh, and look for Ren's comment under Animal Flow whenever you *do* listen to it, he goes over what they went through to record the video and it's quite an interesting read.

It's like that part in Hi Ren, the more we struggle to do change in ourselves, the harder it becomes. We have to learn how to let change happen instead of trying to force change to happen. Change comes in increments. Sometimes very small. You won't notice it, but everyone around you will, and as far as I can tell, you're not a bad person. I don't see what you need to change yet. I mean, maybe you're some mass murderer behind the scenes who knows 😂😂😂 I mean, you are proud you're playing a villain right😂😂😂 Just joshing with you you know, but I don't think you should change.You seem like a very humble open honest man and that's what God loves.

Steven, you spoke about your tics when you were a child and mentioned the throat tic. I did that exact tic for many of my teenage years and was worried that I would never be able to stop, but I started paying more attention to it and would consciously make myself stop. After a period of time, I eventually stopped completely. I haven't thought about that in so long until you mentioned it. I'm really enjoying your channel. You are a powerful human being! Keep encouraging people. We all need to lift each other up. ❤
Thank you for your reaction. And thank you for explaining your ticks. It helped me to understand your reactions more. I do not have ticks but I am autistic and I stim in several ways. It always feels good when people just accept and understand that part of me so that I don't have to try and hide it so often. Ren says Chinchilla( Daisy) is the female version of Ren. Chinchilla makes her own outfits. The nails are her costume.she only wears when performing. She has one heck of a voice. Try some of her solo music. Daisy and Ren are very close friends. And work well together

You’re not weird and you don’t need to change yourself - you are the person you’re meant to be - God designed you to be uniquely you. Your ticks help you, they help you regulate yourself to your environment. I have ticks, lots of people do. I have autism but lots of people have little habitual movements and things that help them in stressful situations. My daughter has had different words over the years that she would repeat randomly - I loved that because it was special to her. Mine are subtle because I have learned to hide them
I'm convinced that we have a sadist amongst the Renegades who recommend Chalk Outlines when a new reactor is overwhelmed. Nah, we aren't like that but I almost cried when you said "wait I thought this was happy." Do Losing It next. Trust me.

Think you need something upbeat and something to smile to so I’m going to recommend -Big Push ( Ren is front man ) - I shot the sheriff and Ren/chinchilla - Drunk In Love/One Dance-live busking . One of the things i have learned is its not always about changing who we are, more accepting who we are and understanding why. Then learning to handle those things in a healthy manner. I enjoy watching people explore Ren, who then leads to chinchilla , those led me to Knox Hill. then for me was Falling in Reverse. It a journey of soulful music that touches us in the deepest ways. Chinchilla (Ren's sister from another Mister) is a "Ren Friend" well worth taking a look at. As is Ren's other LIVE song with her "How To Be Me (Live)"... which personally I think is better than Chalk Oulines, but only by a teeny tiny bit (don't want to upset anyone). If you want to side step into Chinny, then suggest "Little Girl Gone (Official Music Video)" or "Cut You Off (Official Video)" or "1:5 (Live)", of course you can find your own path. I loved your take. I see another perspective and it's part of why I love this song. Sometimes we have to make ourselves chalk out lines with medication's to get through an illness. I play this song every week on repeat while I'm filling my pillbox for the next week. I'm grateful for the science for medication's to help my body survive. That doesn't mean your mind can stay whole. Sometimes we have to medicate our consciousness too, and create a blurred version of reality. I keep choosing to do that so that I can be more stable and serene while I have to live confused. I love watching your reactions and seeing humanity on the other end of the video.

Hello! I've been subbed since the day you did Hi Ren, but I only got through that and the Tales before I had a horrible flare. I have ankylosing spondylitis. Simply put, is a disease of the spine and pelvis. An autoimmune disease, which causes inflammation of the tendons and ligaments attached to the spine and pelvis, which then become ossified (turned to bone) slowly over time. There's lots more, but that's the very base of the disease. Today I was finally able to at least finish your Ren playlist! I adore your reactions! I did want to tell you about this disease for a reason. I needed you to know that not everything in life can be overcome by sheer will. Believe me, I tried! I've always been an overachiever, and a very stubborn one at that! I fought this disease for YEARS. I've had it 20 years. I've been bedridden for 7 now. Fighting this disease made me miserable. I'd cry in the shower every morning, afraid of how I could make it through the day. I worked in the O.R. at a children's hospital, as a scrub nurse. I assisted in surgery every day, all day long. Longest one I assisted in was a lung transplant that took 14 hours. I did that for ten years, but I couldn't stay on my feet all day anymore. I switched to working for a friend who owned a glass shop, which I loved! I eventually stopped working in 2018, when I just couldn't drag myself in any more. It devastated me. I thought about the terrible S word for a long time. Luckily, I couldn't go through with it, because I would just be handing my pain over to my husband and children. Then I found Ren. Shortly after he posted Hi Ren, my husband and I watched it together. We were both stunned. Over the following week, I watched every video he had! Him, The Big Push, Trick the Fox (his first band) and I even found a couple different older vlog channels he had! He really changed me. I've learned to relax, and accept where I am. I still have bad days, but overall, I've found happiness in the life I have now! I'm still stuck in bed, which is so incredibly tough, but I have learned to be grateful for what I do have. My amazing, supportive husband who would do anything for me, and my two beautiful, smart, funny children! My youngest just turned 18 in Dec. It's been so hard, but because of Ren and my family, I've been able to make it through. It was so much fun watching Ren post his songs for his Sick Boi album, and then rushing to his twitch stream to talk with him about them! Then going through the games for money game, and watching the winners explore that island off of Scotland! He just did so many amazing things! I really hope he gets back to that point with his health. It broke my heart when he relapsed. I've gone on long enough, you'll hear more of his story from other Renegades! Welcome to the Renegades, by the way! You're definitely one of us!! Light and love to you, brother! Enjoy the rabbit hole!!

God bless you! I agree there are some things we cannot change. Sometimes it's not about our circumstances but how we deal with them. I mgiht suggest watching Katherine Wolf who's life got turned upside down when she was in the middle of a modeling career. She speaks on embracing her tragedy and using it to help inspire others. It was only after her stroke she was given the largest modeling job of her life for a company that raises awareness for people like her and since then shes written many books and changed so many lives. I believe in you just as much as her. As long as we still have oxygen in our lungs we have a chance to change the world, if not one step at a time. Thank you for sharing! I appreciate you being here!

All three featuring various combinations of Ren and The Big Push. The Big Push are all spectacularly good musicians and spectacularly good mates - a perfect mix making stellar music.
The first time I listened to this I got the message about chalk outlines and how they denote death, and I thought it was amazing. During the second listen the coin dropped that it's a song about medication, and the chalky texture of pills, and how we medicate for depression and anxiety and everything else, and often the side effects of those drugs make us feel numb and stripped of passion for anything that we love. "We float around in these walking chalk outlines". Then I knew it was genius. Great reaction broski

You definitely deserve some fun Ren now. You've gotten some good suggestions so far. Power (more uplifting and a total bop), Love Music 1-4 (they don't need to be in order, but it's kind of fun to hear his progression through them), Murderer (there's a live and an acoustic version and they're very different from each other), Losing It (Fisher rap version) and Uninvited. With The Big Push - I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop and War Pigs (Black Sabbath Cover) - both of these should be the versions with Ren in red suspenders because it's the best sound quality, Bongo Bong and I would add Englishman in New York. There's many more, but that's a good start.

These two are the best musical “siblings”. Ren has called her his sister from another mister and a female version of himself due to their similar approach to music. For me I think it shows in the fact that they both have that something special that draws you in and demands attention. To see it fully for Chinchilla, check out her live version of Fingers.
This song always reminds me that one of the (many) things that makes Ren so great is his ability to know exactly when to be complex, keep it simple, or even use silence to get his message across. He isn’t flexing his guitar skills in this, just playing exactly what is needed with that beautiful guitar tone. And my favourite line in this is so simple, totally devoid of all the clever metaphors that he is so good at using, but it hits soooo hard: “I’m scared of being okay cause all things change”. I think anyone who has been through any struggles can relate to that feeling of not trusting that anything good will last. You can’t just enjoy it because you’re busy worrying about how long it will last and the feeling that will come when it’s gone. And then good days just make the darkness feel so much worse because you remember the light that’s gone… Ren is so special. He keeps being so relatable that it reminds us that we’re not alone. And we will always make room for more RENegades down the Ren rabbit hole cause we all need his light in the darkness 🐰🕳️
If you want more emotional singing from Ren, please check out one of my personal favourites: Crutch feat. Bibi. It’s an older song from before he was finally correctly diagnosed with Lyme disease and was written after a breakdown following multiple emergency trips to the hospital. It is heart wrenching and beautiful. And very different from everything else in his catalogue.

Bless you ❤ 🙏🏻 My kiddo has ticks as well +AuDHD. We struggled to find the issues and parented in ways I’m not so proud of at least at times throughout the years 😞 and then now looking back I really see them whew 😭.
❤❤We finally started seeing there was just this “something” and began to look for Drs to help us because something didn’t seem mmm I don’t like any of the words used to describe here…so I’ll just say mamas gut kept saying there’s something we’re missing. I should mention we have 4 sons and he is the youngest. So a mamas (Papas too 😉) gut is NEVER wrong but also he was the 4th so we had A LOT of experience and began to realize how different things were in several areas that just didn’t seem like the this is his own personality. Idk we just knew. We cried and cried for years trying to find him help and no one would help us. So we were almost in the opposite position of many. It’s like the things happening and his behaviors and struggles (or “wiggles” 😉) wasn’t “serious” enough to garner help.
❤❤FINALLY we found a Dr to help. Now obviously most of us can believe the medication is DEFINITELY NOT always the answer. But this poor little guy was struggling so bad. He was only 4 at this time …but you could see the ticks were definitely not your run of the mill “he’s just a young a boy”…and so after much prayer and many opinion we decided to try mediation out. 🙌 😭 I will NEVER forget it ~~man I can’t type it through these tears 😭. I asked him “how he was doing?”, on day 1 of the first med and he looked at me with this HUGE smile~~~ gah dang it 😭 ~~~so he looked at me just beaming and said in his ever sweet 4 yr old oh so innocent voice “Mama I’m doing SOOO great!! My brain isn’t like commercials anymore it’s like a whole tv show maybe even a movie and it’s so much quieter mama thank you!” My word if that is not the perfect depiction of what A LOT of us ADHDers at minimum feel. Gosh out of the mouth of babes.
❤❤my son is actually the reason I was diagnosed AuDHD as well. After researching and researching I found the website Asperger’s Experts. I binged as much as I could. When my husband walked in the door I look at him and started sobbing. 😭 I said I found his other condition and I should be tested too. Asperger’s well and then we learned AuDHD it is (my son and I still prefer this term it’s okay if anyone doesn’t though just our preference 😉) They put me on a ADHD med shortly after and my husband came home the 1st day of my med and was like “Honey are you okay?!” Puzzled I said, ya why?” 🤨 He said because you’re watching tv and it appears to be the end of the episode. Without even realizing it I had been sitting there chilling through 3 episodes of a tv show and was able to relax and just rest my mind and body for the 1st time. I again began to sob. It was so beautiful! Now my son and I call it our “unique awesomeness”.
🙌 👏 Btw that son is now 21 and a junior at college and has held a job for 3 years in CUSTOMER SERVICE at that 😳!! Not to sound well~ ^ whatever over generalization of negative etc etc someone might think ~ tbh at several points in his childhood and adolescence we weren’t sure if he’d ever be able to leave home, go to college, be able to hold a job etc because it was REAL ROUGH on him and tbh us to as his parents before we figured out all the things he needed help with and then figuring out what to do wth it all those years after diagnosis. He is absolutely WINNING in life and is so happy. We are so close now and really teach each other A LOT!! It’s amazing how a kiddo can teach your as much as you him. ❤My point he still has pretty severe OCD and tics also but he fights through them so well especially since we now understand and can be so much more present and helpful now that we understand. God bless you sir your heart and rawness is legit ❤️ 🙏🏻
Here's a fun fact, Ren and Chinchilla only went through the song a couple times before recording this video. And not only is it a long shot, but a single shot, they only needed to record it once.

It's like that part in Hi Ren, the more we struggle to do change in ourselves, the harder it becomes. We have to learn how to let change happen instead of trying to force change to happen. Change comes in increments. Sometimes very small. You won't notice it, but everyone around you will, and as far as I can tell, you're not a bad person. I don't see what you need to change yet. I mean, maybe you're some mass murderer behind the scenes who knows 😂😂😂 I mean, you are proud you're playing a villain right😂😂😂 Just joshing with you you know, but I don't think you should change.You seem like a very humble open honest man and that's what God loves.
As a fellow Christian, I'm telling you there is no way you need to change, you are absolutely the way He intended you to be. Keep on being you. You are wonderful, and your reactions are so honest, I love your openess.

Steven, you spoke about your tics when you were a child and mentioned the throat tic. I did that exact tic for many of my teenage years and was worried that I would never be able to stop, but I started paying more attention to it and would consciously make myself stop. After a period of time, I eventually stopped completely. I haven't thought about that in so long until you mentioned it.

It always feels good when people just accept and understand that part of me so that I don't have to try and hide it so often. Ren says Chinchilla( Daisy) is the female version of Ren. Chinchilla makes her own outfits. The nails are her costume.she only wears when performing. She has one heck of a voice. Try some of her solo music. Daisy and Ren are very close friends. And work well together

You’re not weird and you don’t need to change yourself - you are the person you’re meant to be - God designed you to be uniquely you. Your ticks help you, they help you regulate yourself to your environment. I have ticks, lots of people do. I have autism but lots of people have little habitual movements and things that help them in stressful situations. My daughter has had different words over the years that she would repeat randomly - I loved that because it was special to her. Mine are subtle because I have learned to hide them

Excellent reaction and very quickly becoming a must watch. Think you need something upbeat and something to smile to so I’m going to recommend -Big Push ( Ren is front man ) - I shot the sheriff and Ren/chinchilla - Drunk In Love/One Dance-live busking . Guaranteed smiles with those two. Again great reaction and just be you always, best part of being a Ren fan is there is very little judgement and it’s very supportive. Look forward to the next one

One of the things i have learned is its not always about changing who we are, more accepting who we are and understanding why. Then learning to handle those things in a healthy manner. I enjoy watching people explore Ren, who then leads to chinchilla , those led me to Knox Hill. then for me was Falling in Reverse. It a journey of soulful music that touches us in the deepest ways. Chinchilla (Ren's sister from another Mister) is a "Ren Friend" well worth taking a look at. As is Ren's other LIVE song with her "How To Be Me (Live)"... which personally I think is better than Chalk Oulines, but only by a teeny tiny bit (don't want to upset anyone).
If you want to side step into Chinny, then suggest "Little Girl Gone (Official Music Video)" or "Cut You Off (Official Video)" or "1:5 (Live)", of course you can find your own path.

I loved your take. I see another perspective and it's part of why I love this song. Sometimes we have to make ourselves chalk out lines with medication's to get through an illness. I play this song every week on repeat while I'm filling my pillbox for the next week. I'm grateful for the science for medication's to help my body survive. That doesn't mean your mind can stay whole. Sometimes we have to medicate our consciousness too, and create a blurred version of reality. I keep choosing to do that so that I can be more stable and serene while I have to live confused. I love watching your reactions and seeing humanity on the other end of the video.
