Even locals are also cautious there. The places she visited are common areas to unwind specially at night that's why the tour guide mentioned there isn't much people during the day so again completely safe even at night. You are in there for the views but I think you know the danger in the muslim side of the city. You are also putting in danger the lives of possible tourists in the Philippines to go there. Zamboanga City used to be a safe haven to peace loving filipinos in Mindanao Island, but in what I Am seeing on this video the city succumbed to Islam. And as a Filipino I wouldn't recommend any tourists to go there. Mindanao used to be called the promise land but it's now the broken promised. * Davao City- 3rd largest, voted as cleanest city and safest in SE Asia but experienced bombing in a night market wayback 2015. Siargao Island- world famous surfing island especially for white people or europeans but because the island isn't attached to Mindanao itself. General Santos City- home of famous boxer Manny Pacquiao
You should analyze things more before you make generalization. Muslims aren't dangerous. POVERTY AND DESPERATION is dangerous. People would hurt other people out of extreme hunger, addiciton or debt. Those things can happen even to a first world country most Christian filipinos dream so much like canada, USA and UK. Now to go back to your stattement that the city has succumbed to islam, I have seen more poor christian than muslims. Pure muslims in that country are so discriminated since time immemorial bcoz of mentality like yours. But in recent years Zamboanga city has given more opportunities to muslims even in the government like police officers. The balance and acceptance has caused more educated muslims to move there. There are more muslim medical students now in ateneo than decades back. Because the mentality that you have barely exists in Zamboanga city now. You can see a female christian student holding hands with their muslim female friends as they cross the street because that's a common site there. And it's funny coz this so called catholic country is so degrading to muslims yet most of them go abroad to work for muslim employers.
It seems you might be misinformed based on past events. Our area is actually safer than many places in Metro Manila. If you'd like to learn more about the area, I recommend checking out Capo's content - he has visited many Muslim provinces and can offer a different perspective. If u haven't been to the place stop spreading lies. Actually, we Muslim people here in Basilan can speak and communicate better in English than most Christian people in Quiapo and Baclaran. So stop your misconception about muslim people.
