    Yeah, mine is on the way now, too. I love getting things a few years after the fact that I see how everyone else liked it tweaked it. Funny, tho. I just order first, then look at reviews setup while it's being shipped. 😅

    Dude I just bought one and while you may think these videos are stupid if not for this one i would not know what was missing in my purchase. a dovetail bar and star tracker mount...just an empty box among multiple boxes in that shipment. Thanks and that is why these videos are helpful

    I got mine just after Christmas and put it all together, but I need a power station that has a cigarette lighter port having trouble finding the one I want, so I have my toys but can’t use it yet 😢 I got the manual, but I bought a different dovetail and waiting on a small rig clamp to attach my guide scope to the dovetail also. Can’t wait to use it. I’ll be using it with my canon 90 and sigma 150-600mm.

    No one reads instructions anymore anyway because we got accustom to setup instructions/manuals sucks (even more than unboxing videos 😄) and being full of errors, typos or is just bad made. I assumed that it would be more complicated to setup considering everything else related to astro, so I searched for setup instruction before even opening the box. It was the easiest setup I have done for years and im sure some kids could do this blindfolded. No need for instructions at all. Thanks for the video anyway🙂

    Thanks for posting because mine came with an empty box with absolutely nothing in it. I guess they used it as a spacer for cushioning between the two weights.

      @@DanielBoychuk It can be a bit tight near zenith. Would love a 6-8 inch (150-200mm) extension pier - the EP gets pretty low to the ground sometimes.

    Are you seeing excessive friction in both Dec and RA axis? Aoparently it stcks and messes up some photo sessions. Theres a video on line where the owner loosens the clamp up bolt retention for both Dec and RA axis requiring some.disassy. Once completed the az spins freely for balancing, as does the RA axis. I just bought one and havent opened the box yet for fear of problems. Im considering returning it. Also, I have a 102 mm refractor and data says 100 aperature max. Not sure if a fit up or other issue? Good luck with you're endeavors. I am a little skeptical at this juncture. Forgitbto mention, the sticky / friction videronstated no bearings in this unit only bushings and bad heavy grease as the culprips for excessive friction.

    How are you liking it? I was looking at getting a whole rig right off the bat, but to save me $$$ I might just get the mount and use my dslr with 300mm f4 ED lens. I see that it comes with camera plate and dovetail which is perfect to get started! Ill have to watch more of your videos to see your results. Thanks a lot! I think Ive made my mind on the EQM-35. OHHH.... also, does your mount work wifi too with phone app or is that the wifi model without remote? Thanks for sharing pal! 👌

    Hi Bruce! Great Great video cover all the most important points.
    but still had a doubt that:
    yeah dude about EQM-35, doesn't the mount already comes with a dovetail plate? so that I would not need to buy external which I decided earlier.
    cause I am confused that if it already comes then it won't be necessary to buy another William Optics DSD210 as any vixen style will fit with radian raptor right? and 1/4 20" screws will fir in EQM-35 Dovetail ( included)?
    I hope you answer my question cause you know its a big purchase and I have this question.
    :)

    Hi Bruce, good video, one question, what is the largest telescope you have put in it? I have the same mount and I have put a total weight (between telescope, camera and accessories) of 4.5 kilograms and works fine for astrophotography, but I want to change telescope (it would have a total payload of 6 kilograms) and I don't know if it will be too heavy for astrophotography. Thanks!!

    • @brucetracyphotography9879
      @brucetracyphotography9879  3 года назад

      That might be pushing its upper limits. I try to keep the weight at half of its listed capacity or less for astrophotography. It's a great mount for the price, but it's weight capacity is its shortfall.

    • @clla3393
      @clla3393 3 года назад +1

      @@brucetracyphotography9879 thanks, that's why I was asking, with the configuration I want (12 pounds) it would be a little over 50% of the listed capacity (22 pounds)

      Hi! i have an Orion Optics UK VX8 (8 inch newton) with cameras etc on top of it that weigh somewhere around 9 kg with a 60mm/240mm guidescope. Its not perfect and there are definitely errors caused by the mount, mostly in days where there is (any) wind. In windless days this is by far the cheapest go-to mount you can realistically attempt to mount an 8 inch newtonian onto.
      I would recommend it to any low-mass setup and to all approaching 10kg setups where you have to budjet cost or the weight of the mount.

    This is fantastic! My 9 year old son is craaaazy into space and I just ordered this same mount for our first tracker. I had the exact same questions, and you’ve answered them! Looking forward to seeing more of your videos.
    One question - can you attach a camera and lens with the dovetail bar and use the goto feature? Thanks again!

    • @brucetracyphotography9879
      @brucetracyphotography9879  3 года назад

      I am not sure of the answer to this one. I have tracked using just a camera and a lens, but I had to manually find the objects that I photographed. I wouldn't think the goto feature would work without the top part of the mount attached.

    • @joelsweatman1503
      @joelsweatman1503 3 года назад

      mount your camera to the same type of dovetail bar for a telescope and use it like a telescope and the goto should work fine

      @@andreigaming5581 bro what… the eqm 35 is for VERY budget astrophotography, not professional in the slightest. A 9 year old should certainly have a mount this cheap and affordable, not meant for pros at all. A pro would buy a much nicer mount.

    Informative video! I'm looking at purchasing the eqm-35, it's been quite a few months since you made this video? How has the experience been? I'll be using a Zenithstar61 ii on it, guiding the whole bit. Total weight is just under 6lbs, do you feel the mount is quality and could handle my setup?

    • @brucetracyphotography9879
      @brucetracyphotography9879  3 года назад

      The EQM-35 should easily be able to handle 6 pounds. My setup is much heavier than this and I haven't had any problems yet. The key is to make sure you polar alignment is perfect.

      Nice! How heavy is your setup, just so I have an idea of how much room I have to grow. The other day I actually picked up an eqm-35 and have had two nights so far with it. It has worked very well these past two nights! Most of the time I was getting sub 1" rms. Nothing higher than 1.2" thus far.
      And it works very well with the asiair pro!

    • @brucetracyphotography9879
      @brucetracyphotography9879  3 года назад +1

      The EQM-35 can handle up to 22 pounds, so you want to keep it under half that weight for astrophotography. As long as you entire setup is under 11 pounds, you won't have any problems.
