This is the best interview by anyone I have seen. Guy is insightful, kind and honest. This calm allowed JB to relax and speak his truths. Brilliant exchange ❤❤❤

Brilliant podcast: it feels like we are listening to what james diary would have been through the lyrics to his songs, that has got to be both a release and exhausting every time he gets up on that stage.
Such an interesting funny guy. ❤

Only 21 comments to a spectacular video? Can't wrap my mind around it.
    That said,
    I enjoyed every minute.

The way he talks about himself when he started in the musical industry, he naivness admiting he did not know much about it makes him a very brave and humble man. I admire him so much for being so raw and honest about that! Also the story behind "You are beautiful" finnally reveald. How not to love this talented man ? He deserves better recognition . A great interview...!

I totally understand James from the perspective of a fellow-singer/songwriter. The creative process behind writing a song involves so much. And I found that I could agree with James in that the best songs ,at least for me also, just pour out onto the page so quickly. There's not much to think about. It's simply so exciting when words and music so quickly hook up really quickly and have usually turned out to be the best songs I've written. So I suspected of James ' s song," "You're Beautiful."
I instantly loved James Blunt's style and he remains at the top of my list of musical artists. I admire his simplicity of song and allowing himself to be naked re:performance/writing the song itself. I feel the same way about my songs and since I write all of them; so I feel very protective over them.
James was & is one of the few artists I listen to. I didn't do that very often. I'm extremely finicky when it comes to taking time to listen to other artists.
This interview was excellent. James Blunt, I think you're top of the line dude, and you and your music have my love and respect; and if you knew me, you would know that is quite a compliment . All the best , from an admiring fellow-artist. ❤❤❤👍🎵

Not romantic, umm one of the most romantic things to say is around 1:11 when he talks about what he writes about these days. Unlike some singer/songwriters now in their 50s are writing songs that sound like they’re 17, he’s no longer a guy longing for an ex he sees on a subway but marvels that the woman who is his wife chooses to live the rest of her life with him and it’s more than just “you’re beautiful.” Thanks James for showing us the beauty of mature live!
Guy thanks for accompanying me in my studio as I work with How I Built This and now this excellent podcast. Such inspiring and insightful interviews! Bravo.

I had no idea he was involved in the airport insident. I always considered the incident quite profound for general Jackson to state that he is not going to start world war 3 and really the initial consious decision had been mr Blunts. Amazing. Can not understand how that has not become common knowledge. Momentous historical moment.

We need to remind ourselves and re-educate kids as to what cool really is!
Hendrix wasn’t cool because he wore those clothes, he made the clothes cool because he wore them with no pretence.
That goes for what he said and especially how he played. He wasn’t acting, that was the man.
Same can be said for many others, including James Blunt. For a whole host of reasons.
I do not own a single James Blunt record… sorry James.
But he’s cool because it’s not pretence, he’s who he is.
Making your way in life, successfully. Whilst being true yourself. Thats what’s cool.
To focus on anything else, is just to let in distraction. Often to satisfy the expectations others have of you.
Giving into such distractions is about as uncool as it gets.
