I recently got hooked onto HD radio with this HDR-16. Wow what a difference in sound quality on both bands. Picked up an HDR-14 for edc and just as amazing.
Yes, Todd Erbert. This is a GREAT radio. I love this one, and the PR-D5. Both of the ones I purchased were RENEWED. Both were as-good-as-new without any hickups. The PR-D 5 is white and it sure beats the shiny finger print magnet in black. So comparing the big stick PR-D 5 with its 200mm ferrite to the HDR-15 with a ferrite that's about 1/2 that size... the PR-D 5 wins on the AM. However, I am surprised at how well the 15 keeps up with everything except those rare few on the fringe. Bottom line; get one each in renewed condition and don't look back. Great radios. Happy Holidays!
I use Rayovac Fusion Alkaline and they last forever in my cc pocket and I have it playing for many hours every day. They last an impossibly long time. May want to give them a try in these bigger radios and see how they perform. Affordable and never had a problem with them. Just thought I'd pass the info along.
It passed the WKZO without the help from Uncle Terk. You like Fort Wayne because you are a WOWO radio fan. For as small as Fort Wayne city is they have a famous Clear Channel station.
The PR-D5 is good, the D15 gives you Bass/Treble Control and 1kHz tuning along with a 200mm ferrite antenna. The CC Radio EP-Pro is also a monster on the MW band.

I have this hd radio. And it is amazing. It can pick up so many am radio stations
It seems like it can pick them up but they aren't listenable. All that static is off putting.
@ not in my area. I’m from Michigan. And I can get in so many am radio stations
@@bennolanswaggerdiaperteenbaby That's great. I should pick one up.
@ yep. You will love it. And at night you will be able to pick up hd am stations from different places.
One of the best quality radios out there, I have had mine for over two years and it is still a top performing unit.
Great vid as usual!

Hej Todderbert and thanks for the AM bandscans the Sangean HDR-16 seems to be a very nice radio take care Todderbert.

Best AM radio I own, and using it with the Twin Coil Ferrite is an awesome combination.
Love mine, thinking about getting a loop antenna to experiment with. 😊
Great radio.
I also have the 14. But I love the 16

What is the most sensitive AM radio? Eastern NC is a radio nightmare but i do get some decent AM at night on my cc pocket.

@todderbert thanks for the suggestion. I'll check them out!!
It's a champ on night time MW without the Terk.
