I'm happy to see one of the best classic Lucky Luke films restored on RUclips with quality music and audio. Also happy it's the English dub, those are hard to find online.
Whenever Joe Dalton hears the mentioning of Lucky Luke's name, he goes berserk and throwing a fit like a wild, cranky, cantankerous, bad-tempered bull on a rodeo
One of my absolute favorites of all time. Had this movie on Beta tape as a Disney release when I was a kid. Thank you so so much for making it available to watch again! As an adult I appreciate the genius of this movie all the more. The story, animation, sound and music... All so incredibly good.
This movie is not just a ballad of the Daltons, but also of Lucky Luke. Lucky Luke is a comic book hero. Two main individuals responsible for creating the comics were Morris and Rene Goscinny, whose signatures you can see at the end of the movie. Morris was the creator of Lucky Luke and he drew the comics, while Rene Goscinny was primarily in charge of writing the stories. Goscinny was also the co-creator of the comic "Asterix & Obelix" and one of the founders of "Idefix studios," the studio that made this film and "Asterix and the Twelve Tasks" before it. Two months before this film was completed, Goscinny died of a heart attack at the age of 51. His death is considered the end of the golden age of Lucky Luke and Asterix & Obelix. Additionally, after the film was finished, the studio that made this film, founded by Goscinny, closed down. Morris continued to produce comics, along with other writers, until his death in 2001. Albert Uderzo, the other co-creator of Asterix & Obelix, continued to produce Asterix & Obelix comics until 2009. He passed away in 2020. Supposedly, the comic "Asterix in Belgium" was in the middle of production when Goscinny died, and the remainder of the comic had a darker sky to symbolize Goscinny's death.
@@leodess6676 Kinda, first time I've ever read a Lucky Luke comic was in 2021. I was born in 2001, few months after Morris died. I think this movie was the first anime I've ever had on VHS/DVD. Of Lucky Luke, I first watched this movie then New Adventures, then Lucky Luke 1983, then Go West, then Daisy Town. But I always liked to see what was behind the scenes, and only in 2020s, I realised that older animes of Lucky Luke are adaptations of comics. I recommend you watch youtube channel "Jeffrey Kitsch", he has many videos where he compares comics and anime adaptations.
This is one of those movies i can keep on watching without getting bored of it. I remember owning this movie on DVD as a kid and I still watch it a lot to get a good laugh out of it!
We’re like the fingers of your hand; Sticking together like a brother should! Without each other, we never could… it’s understood Be the handsome gunners known as Daltons! Dancing like feathers on a string; Witty and charming and so very chic! You have to admit no one could be so neat Than the famous Dalton Boys! Oh, oh… nothing is finer than a bank, bank, bank. Nothing is safer than a master safe. You can bet your sweet life your dollars will be all right If you only trust a bank. Averrell, SHUT UP! I’m siiingin in the rain Just singing in the rain What a glorious feeling, I’m happy again! I’m laughing at clouds - So dark up above… The suns in my heart and I’m ready for love…. Shooting guns Shooting guns Shooting all the way…. So much fun to hear the guns Shooting come what may…. (Chorus) I’m such a stranger in the night Searching for you and longing for your touch…. When will I hold you close in my arms, Feeling your heart touching mine…?
Lucky Luke is so honest that he ensures the Daltons will fail to carry out the terms of the will, ensuring the victims survive, the Daltons are sent back to prison, and the money goes to charity. After all, Luke is not going to sit idly by while bad, law-breaking men try to murder good, law-abiding men just so they can collect a inheritance.
All I’ve found is a site with the lyrics, and that refers to the whole thing as “Joe’s dream”. According to Wikipedia “The scenes in the Dalton musical comedy dream pays homage to the golden age of musical films and included references (i.e. Singin' in the Rain, White Christmas, Bathing Beauty, Ziegfeld Follies and performer Busby Berkley)”, but it doesn’t specify whether the main tune itself is a direct parody or an original homage. Anyone know?
Lucky Luke’s so clever when he actually tricked the Daltons into thinking that he killed the members of the jury who sentenced their uncle. That made Joe Dalton really angry.
Anyone know where I can buy a digital copy? iTunes as all the Asterix movies but none of the animated Lucky Luke movies. I love how it’s implied Luke could have recaptured them all at any time but held off so the orphans would get the loot… plus he was getting a kick out of playing Joe like a fiddle

Now we need both the Dalton's on the Loose and Go West back on RUclips.

I wish the ending lyrics had more, it made me tear up listening him sing that little tune.

I kind a love how this film takes a look at different professions and places throughout the old west.
One of things I noticed in this movie is Dr. Aldous Smith is modeled after W.C. Fields and Mathias Bones is modeled after Boris Karloff
Lucky Luke’s one lucky cowboy! 🤠
Joe Dalton can really sing. Wonder what the songs names are.

Joe Dalton has such a temper when he reacts to Lucky Luke in person.
You're my hero, Amigo.
The Daltons or Lucky Luke?
