Can I just say how much I appreciate your kitchen setup? So cozy and homey. As beautiful as they are, it's nice to not see a huge over the top kitchen in a foodie RUclips channel. That echo is nonexistent in your sound and it just makes it feel more like we're hanging out together. Love you and your videos! ❤🥰
I'd love to see a video where you talk about your favourite foods, the foods you make regularly, and the sorts of foods you dislike! You're so even-handed and descriptive (which is so refreshing) when you try foods that I sometimes find it hard to tell what you enjoy, and I'm curious!

Hi Emmy I just want to say thank you for your videos you taking the time in doing them means so much. I have been enjoying them. Especially during the whole quarantine thing.
Another Wine Drunking Emmy video, which is always a treat to watch, Time for me to pause the video and get a bottle of tequila and decide the magic word
I love your sponsorships. I can tell you really are passionate about them and honestly have helped me tremendously in the past. If you didn’t make a video about the online doctor where you could get birth control prescriptions I wouldn’t have known about it at all and it changed my life tbh. KEEP IT UP!!
I remember an old episode of Alton Brown that talked about how sugar water helped with heat and he put it in a spray bottle. I wish I could remember more but I thought it might be fun for you to give it a try.
The heat sensation from capsaicin is caused by the capsaicin temporarily resetting the temperature receptor nerve endings to perceive a lower temperature as heat. The inside of the human mouth is around 98.6 F and that normally feels a little warmer than tepid but with capsaicin, the nerve endings suddenly perceive the interior of the mouth as being much hotter. So drinking any cooler beverage will temporarily tamp down the sensation of spicy heat but as soon as the temperature inside the mouth returns to normal, the sensation of heat returns. You can check this out by taking a drink of ice water to get the same effect.
Loved the video! Emmy, you should try the olive oil method Navajos use for heat. In order to prevent the spice burning up the mouth, they drink a one or two tablespoons of olive oil. It worked for me!!
"I'll add some more sauce" Emmy you are INSANE. I recently got a pack of the 2x spicy chicken noodles, the "nuclear" noodles, and holy hell. I'm great with spice; I love it, the more spicy the better (usually - that's why I bought them), but those noodles absolutely destroy me (in a great way). What's worse is I can't eat them quickly because I have a lap band (hooray for weight loss though!) so the "pain" of the heat actually ebbs in intensity over about half an hour. The after effect is ridiculous though - my lips and tongue are on fire and it's like those old Looney Tunes cartoons where, say, Bugs' mouth is on fire, grabs a massive ice cube and puts it to his tongue and it melts from the heat of the tongue. That's reality. I think the whole "fat carrying capsaicin away" is a myth and it's completely a placebo. I think the spice stays as long as it stays. I might try some of the noodles with sriracha on it - might cool it down!
So after briefly being taken by the essential oil craze, I learned that coconut oil is what you use to remove a "hot" oil (an oil that burns like oregano oil) if you accidentally get some on your skin. I do know it works like a charm, you just rub coconut oil on the skin and then wipe it off. Repeating if necessary. So I I wonder how rinsing your mouth with straight up oil of some sort might work better?
It's the sugar in the punch that is fighting the heat. The Scoville score of a sauce or pepper is based on how much sugar it takes to neutralize its heat. Complex carbon molecules found in most sugars bond well with capsaicin.
I’ve been super depressed because my grandmother is in the hospital with Covid and she’s not going to make it, (we’re taking her off the ventilator on Sunday) but binge watching Emmy’s videos has been helping me so much. It’s hard to be sad when you watch Emmy, she’s a national treasure. 💛

Hey Emmy I just learned that "Tea Bombs" are a thing! Clear, crispy sugar spheres filled with tea leaves that you throw into hot water. This sounds like something you HAVE to try and make!
I read online today that humans, on average, eat more bananas than monkeys.
It's right you know. I cannot remember the last time I ate a monkey.
