Thanks again Gary for all the tips. I put some Blue Lake Climbing French Beans straight into the soil 2 weeks ago and something dug them up (rodents I think) I sowed more inside and put them out yesterday so I hope they wont get eaten by anything. My Runner Beans and Broad Beans are going strongly, the latter full of flowers. Your allotment is looking wonderful!

Thank you very much for your comments Jenny which are always greatly received. You will notice in the video that I netted over the climbing French Beans when I sowed the seeds. That seems to have done the trick as they have now germinated and thankfully they look ok. You sound like you are doing really well with your veg do keep me updated. Kind regards. Gary

Thank you very much for your comment which is greatly appreciated. I purchased the netting you see in the video from Amazon online. If you shop around you can get some bargains as the price can vary significantly. Kind regards. Gary

Hi Andrea and thank you for your comment which is greatly appreciated. I too had an issue with my first lot of peas with only a poor rate of germination however I think it was because I didn't use good compost when I sowed them. My second lost are doing much better, so fingers crossed! Kind regards. Gary

I liked this one, it'll help anyone who is starting in June. I'm stuck in the past because I like to prepare my bean trench in the Autumn/winter. I fill mine with several sacks of horse manure and brown leaves. By planting time the soil is in lovely moisture retaining condition. I then work some BFB around each planting area. Netting thumbs up until established :-)

Thank you for your positive comment Boris which is greatly appreciated. I’m really pleased you like the video. Preparing your bean trenches in Autumn and Winter is something I do most of the time, however this was not the case for the area where I planted the seeds in the video! Could you please clarify the what BFB is for me and the viewers. Kind regards. Gary
