I can assure you, that the less than 2 grand per meter squared for land in Scotland is much more affordable for the 10+ grand for a meter square in central London
In London you can a one bedroom apartment for £700,000 in other areas of the countries, with that money you could buy two 4 bedroom detached houses with massive gardens and still have like £100,000 left. It’s crazy how different that can be.
I expect all those flats in central London are owned by people who already have property elsewhere. Either they let it out to others or use it as their London 'base' when they need to drop into town.
the sheer confidence of toycat saying "$1,000,000 can buy you a giant mansion in the United States" is staggering. lol I'm sure in Nevada it can but try that amount in a place with any electoral college votes and at best you're gonna get like a 4 bedroom 3 bathroom house in some sort of suburbia
Toycat, before you move plant some seeds in your garden in words. Once they grow you will be long gone for that house and people will be like. What’s toycat?
You need to be a millionaire to own property there, you can rent a bedroom in a multi bedroom flat for several hundred a month, which is insane but still cheaper than anywhere else in London
As an American just getting out of college and hoping to spend a few years in the UK at some point, I would *love* to live in London, but reality is setting in that the only two good options are living in a beach town like Weymouth, or spending retirement years in however-many decades in a canal boat.
Problem is you would have to apply for planning permission prior to knowing what could be done with the land ie either way they lose a little money upfront.
It's not that bad compared to Australia. The idea that you could get an actual house within a 1 hour walk of the city center for $1m is amazing, in Melbourne you're doing well to get somewhere within a 1 hour drive of the city for that.
In Hong Kong here, you can buy a decent size apartment for the price of a 2 story house in the US 13:51 if my family had the chance to buy it we would do that anyday of the week
@@AndrewAnd my Mum loves Oklahoma because the band Hanson (ummbop) comes from here she specifically wants to go to America to visit Oklahoma- if I was visiting America Oklahoma would not be my first choice
In Indiana, PA, $100,000 will buy you a 3 bed, 2 bath standard house. Of course, well-paid jobs are a bit hard to come by... 🤔
I can assure you, that the less than 2 grand per meter squared for land in Scotland is much more affordable for the 10+ grand for a meter square in central London
Toycat: If you wanna have a nice delightful walk...
My very american brain: haha "walking" such a British thing
@Krishna Raghavan I would say it's more of the reverse. America is one country that doesn't really walk at all compared to most places haha
This is why people live in the suburbs lol
@mike smith well exactly
Even suburbs of London is expensive. London is that stupidly expensive.
@@bobcemore4379 suburbs are definitely not cheap, but they are slightly more affordable!
wow toycat! that background is good looking, now i want to live there!

I'm surprised that ToyCat hadn't just go full country living. And have a crazy custom build house.
The land was on auction and 50k was the starting price, hence it being 'cheap'
I love how Whitechapel is the “Far East”
I only heard about whitechapel being dodgey with Jack the Ripper. Real ones buy london homes in Dagenham
I'm a simple man. I see an IBXTOYCAT finance video. I watch.
On a side note, I'm seriously on the verge of switching to a finance degree lol
No, I want to live in the middle of nowhere. Away from everyone.
I can't imagine a millionaire living a in 1 bedroom house
I expect all those flats in central London are owned by people who already have property elsewhere. Either they let it out to others or use it as their London 'base' when they need to drop into town.
why isn't this on ibx2cat?
I think he does videos on London on this channel
Small house...

Looking idly at local homes for sale, the priciest one is for $800,000 and has 4 beds and 2 baths. Admittedly, it does look impressive.
8:20 The single room is offered as a 999 year leasehold. I find this insane. Or is it a typo ?
Either a mistake I assume or nobody wants to live there. If I could afford to buy I would always look at freehold over leasehold.
Toycat, before you move plant some seeds in your garden in words. Once they grow you will be long gone for that house and people will be like. What’s toycat?
Surpised that London has dodgy areas when you need to be a millionaire to live there.

One word. Gentrification
I’ve never heard Charing Cross pronounced like that 🤢

Honestly, the actual trick is to just live really far outside of London with a reliable train link to get in :)
yes
Feels like a second channel video lol
You could buy 250,000 ultra hard survival: scorched for your 249,999 alt accounts and your main one for that price! Much more worth it in my opinion.
That land is actually pretty good I think. Unless you aren’t allowed to do anything with it.
Problem is you would have to apply for planning permission prior to knowing what could be done with the land ie either way they lose a little money upfront.
The idea that people buy apartments in the UK instead of renting them... how weird.
most people rent, I mean after all they have to rent them from someone right haha
So how do so many people from the poorest country's in the world afford live in London
they probably don’t live 3 miles away from charing cross
My apartment is 700 square feet at $975 usd.
what about your 1 million dollar minecraft house in real life? lol
It's not that bad compared to Australia. The idea that you could get an actual house within a 1 hour walk of the city center for $1m is amazing, in Melbourne you're doing well to get somewhere within a 1 hour drive of the city for that.
Its worse, 1 million usd is 1.4 million aud.
If you think this is bad, go to NYC
The ibxtoycat gamer boat tour
gotta make more minecraft videos, then you can afford an actual house for 2 mil
In Hong Kong here, you can buy a decent size apartment for the price of a 2 story house in the US
13:51 if my family had the chance to buy it we would do that anyday of the week
One month of rent in a washing machine
Poop in a bag and throw it out of the window... Love it.
a 2x2 dirt shack at best
Live on the land.
Wet meat mountain. Edit: also, live in a tent on that land
Livin’ on a wet meat mountain in a tent.
Interesting rant.
why are you always in my recommended???
Because your clicking on the videos
Because it isn’t un-recommended.
Hows about the tiny house
jfc Oklahoma is great because 60k$ can get you a 2 bed, 2 bath fixer-upper
but then you have to live in Oklahoma

This isn't a green screen 🤣🤣⛵
Yo, how much are you making if you think £615k is cheap
it's sarcasm, £615,000 is clearly an absurd amount of money even if you're a millionaire lol
@@AndrewAnd you have an exceptional poker face then
Just now reaching the end of the video and it becomes clear. I just comment early most of the time

i actually kind of want to move to britain. this has definitely helped me to know that London is a terrible idea
