Subhas Chandra Bose , popularly known as Netaji, occupied a unique position in the political scene of pre- independent India because of his distinctive political methods and strategic thinking .Ever since he appeared on the political scene of India, his courage , conviction, personality, patriotism and sacrifice made him an icon for the people , especially the youth of the country. Subhas Chandra Bose was not only a soldier in the freedom struggle but a true statesman having a vision for a modern nation based on highest human ideals, values and scientific outlook. Netaji's contribution to India has largely been overlooked or under-emphasized .
