I always thought Brand New was kind of boring live... this video took every thought I had about it, and absolutely obliterated it. that was absolutely epic.
True, if the audience is being exceptionally loud then I can see how it would be annoying. I guess it also depends on where you are, if you have someone shouting in your ear then it can be quite annoying. But I have never had a big issue with it. I like seeing audiences really getting into the music. I'd rather see a crazy loud audience than a dull silent one.
I'm pretty sure they like when they get a response from the audience like that... I asked Jesse once how he thought the concert was after a show (toronto kool haus july 22 2006) and he said it was fun but he couldn't hear the audience singing that much. i guess in that situation you kind of want people to relate to your lyrics and like you enough to know every word haha. At least in my opinion.. but everyones diffrent :)
I love how many people here complain about the crowd and say BN hates it when people sing back have any of you ever thought that maybe jesse gets a kick out of trying to outsing the crowd? I mean if you know any bit of his personality, he's a really fun guy, look up the videos of him and manchester orchestra.... if he hated it, he'd tell people to shut up, he did once in one video a long time ago, he changed the lyrics of this song and sang "shut the fuck up"....lol I love this band too much.
Jesse usually sings the harmonies live because the crowd sings the regular tone. A live show is all about the crowd reacting, singing, and getting into the performance just as much as the artist does. I love this video.
it's a crazy amazing experience to go to a concert and sing along with one of your favorite bands (along with 100's or somtimes 1000's of other people). So everyone complaining about the crowd singing needs to get off youtube, and go to some shows and experience how amazing it is to be at a show like this one.
Geez dude I was just saying Kurt wore a shirt like that all the time. And had the same guitar so it reminded me of him. It's not like Kurt trademarked feedback I was just merely remarking. I know they are alot different he just reminded of Kurt.

One question though..... Does Jesse actually look at the crowd when he sings? I cant ever tell.... every time i see him he's looking at his guitar or has his eyes closed.... does he ever sing and look around? lol

It seems sort of like I'm being punished for liking a band that attracts so many annoying young people. I'm sorry to say I'll never be going to one of their concerts as the sound of prepubescent voices are going to destroy my hearing.
I was there that night in college park. Amazing crowd, they knew every word to this song.
