Picked mine up last week. I’ve been searching for this kind of pedal for years. Started with the Chase Bliss Warped Vinyl MKII, moved on to the Hungry Robot Wardenclyffe and now I’m here and I’m at peace ❤️
that’s awesome! someone was asking how it compares to warped vinyl and i haven’t spent a significant amount of time with that pedal. any insight you could offer would be appreciated!
@@DemosInTheDark no worries, I reckon I’ve done it justice in my reply. Thanks for doing this video, I’ve had to pinch myself to make sure the pedal was real haha
Hi… that lead guitar composition is so so nostalgic and ethereal… something that Ennio Morrison’s or Nina Rota would have done for a Antonioni or Fellini film. TeFi’s Italianness has been greatly taken to next level…. Hats off! Meisterwerke
This has been a long journey my friend... after seeing your video ... I had this pedal in my cart from Tefi lab... but didnt buy . Lost that ... and they ran out of parts. Waited all of 2022....then they reappeared... and Sold out in 3 hours !!... finally thanks to Reverb ... just bought it ... coming all the way from Australia .... across the Globe. Thanks for your video.
Men... I've just discovered this unicorn few hours ago. Than realized that it's over, done, they had finished production within the last orders in August... I almost cried... Than tried to find some used stuff... No luck. The night was dark... And then... just few minutes ago... I found one on Reverb in Italy. BUM. 500$ payed but do not regret. Superb composition Ryan at the beginning, great use of the pedals sounds and tones. The pedal sounds cool, it's good to hear pedals like this for a change used in modern sounding music, and has great potential for incorporating innovative sounds into songs/tunes. I use one of my Zoom pedals to create very similar sounds to add a bit of spice into my songs. Great demo Ryan watching and listening here in England UK.
So true man, you can get a very similar with a 90 Euro Zoom Ms 70 Cdr, which is a very good price considering that this is one of those sounds that nobody uses that much, also with the Zoom you can save presets and that's a very useful thing. Very nice pedal anyway and great video.
@@DIGITAL7Media Thank you!!! It's my favorite show of all time. :) Doomsdalehigh.bandcamp.com If you dig it, I'm also stand-in guitar for a band horror surf punk band called Mummula (mummula.bandcamp.com). Both bands compliment each other really well, so I tend to share both together.
Some killer sounds. Nice demo. Really love this type of effect to change up part of a lead while on the fly. Also, to use for the rhythm part, for the verse of a song, so when the chorus comes it gives a much more dynamic feel, with the change up.
Wow I'm impressed. After checking out so many lofi pedals that I honestly think are better suited for synths, this is really great. I was prepared for another same ol same ol and this just hits all the right spots.
i just want to make a good cup of coffee, kick back, close my eyes, and listen to you play through that thing for 2 hours. wow. i love the brighter blended tones. i’m curious about how this compares / contrasts to the Warped Vinyl.
I know this about the Tefi pedal but what are you using for your dirt at 5:11 onwards? Or is that the monarch breaking up? Sounds glorious. And is the verb added in post? Sometimes it almost sounds like you’ve got verb going into dirt, also sounds great!
I just dropped an embarrassing but not regrettable amount of cash on one of these. Tefi’s going to have to figure something out to make more. This pedal would be any builder’s crowning achievement.
God I am addicted to boutique lofi pedals, this one really hits a sweet spot but how many different ways and thousands of dollars do I need to drop on making my tone sound like I found it in the goodwill parking lot 🤦
This is a great pedal, but not quite as good as the Generation Loss V2 or the newest Wardenclyffe Deluxe. Wow and Flutter on the Gen Loss is way deeper and the aux controls with tape stop, etc. are just fantastic. Wardenclyffe Deluxe lets you adjust the noise with three different settings and has an onboard lofi reverb that sounds phenomenal. But this pedal is great if you're looking to for this sound with moderation. The Warped Vinyl HiFi is a whole different beast IMO--almost impossible to sound bad with that pedal.
This has cleared my Warden dlx, Gen Loss and Warped Vinyls 1 & 2...it is infinitely more musical, pragmatic and refined. Believe me, was shocked! Just beats them all hands down
Loved your original tune! Also - Have you played the Cooper FX generation loss? I have both versions and absolutely love it. This pedal seems heavily inspired. I highly recommend giving it a try. It has a few more options (bit crushing, seperate low and high pass filters, random pitch LFO and more).
sure! i've commented below on this too, or maybe it was on the the gen loss video. at any rate, totally different animals in my opinion. i use golden era as more of a warm analog finishing touch. you can do a lot or a little with it. with the gen loss, you have to be pretty committed to the effect. in my experience, there isn't a lot of "subtle" in it. going back to golden era, it doesn't get nearly as crazy as gen loss can. so i think it all comes down to what you're looking for. if you want the effect to run the show, i'd go with the gen loss. if you want to run the show, i'd go with golden era. i love both for completely different reasons. those are my thoughts on the two. if you are able, i'd try them out!
Thanks for the breakdown! I can totally see (or hear) your point. Planning to pick up the Golden Era soon. Unfortunately the Gen Loss is a unicorn...🙂 Have a good one!
So once upon a time I had the MKII and it was awesome but I never got enough lo-fi vibes out of it...from what I can remember! I guess I ended up using it as more of a really fancy vibrato pedal instead of what I really wanted it for. The tape wobble on the Golden Era takes me back to being a kid watching stuff on VHS and being lost in my own imagination and that’s a feeling you can’t beat! I hope that answers your question.
it has some similarities to the deco, but it has a different vibe altogether. to me deco still has a polished digital sound to it and is very "modern" approach to replicating tape. golden era has a very vintage analog voicing to it, warts and all. the folks at TEFI restore old vintage organs and studio equipment and that expertise shows up in their pedal designs.
Shame! Shame! Shame! Not running it on bass! Shame! Shame! Shame! I'm beginning to think you're doing that on purpose! XD Super sick demo, though. That jam, maaaan, I'm in love!

The thing about this pedal, is that all the sounds from subtle to whacky are musical and you don't have to alter your playing around it.
