I know something I struggle with is keeping my tools really sharp. It seems like you have that down pretty good. Have you ever thought about making a video to show your process of keeping sharp tools?

As a small child I loved watching our horses being shod. Your videos bring back those memories and I swear I can smell the hoof burning.
A good farrier was hard to find 60 years ago I can't imagine what it would be like today. Love the videos.

I so enjoy your videos. Shoeing a horse is something I've never seen, before I came across your videos. ANY type of explanation of ANY of the steps you take would be interesting to learn. You're just so quiet going about the work. I'd love to hear why you do things. How it helps the horse, how things make your job easier or more thorough. I can honestly tell you where I am from horses are purely entertainment, & are few and far between unless I want to travel somewhere to go horseback riding. Horses are a treat or luxury where I live, not a necessity. We don't have livestock ranches like out west/southwest, in the US where horses are truly working for the need of ranchers or farmers. So ANY explanation on ANY part of the videos would be most enjoyable to see. Love these videos 👍

I hear you, and I'm with you! He did do a video with commentary once. It was a while ago. It was a nice treat! And while I certainly appreciated it, I couldn't help but to want more of it. As in, more videos with commentary.
As you said, diving into explanation (s) and thought process. I'm hoping he gives it a go.

I really enjoy your videos. Often I will binge and watch a number of they in a row. Instead of watching four videos of you doing four different horses I would love to watch you do one horse's all four hooves. Especially with commentary as to what you are doing and why. What are you looking at when you pull back and are inspecting the hoof? What are you looking at when you are inspecting the shoe you are hammering out of the forge oven? And what are you looking for when you are inspecting the hoof after you burn on the shoe?

For some reason, the starting foreshadowed that this video will be different somehow. Three minutes in, and I definitely have this as one of my favorite vids here now when he started taking the nails off the shoes. Of course, I liked the video lol, it's almost perfect.
To be honest, I love the usual no-talking content so I don't really want any changes. But I definitely love the surprises in this one where we get to see and listen to new stuff done in the process. If it were me, I'd love to have random rare talking vids explaining the process or whatever he wants to share like that one commentary video posted a few months back.
Tldr: Basically, I'd prefer if the contents the same as usual but have some surprises from time to time.

What is the criteria for reinstalling existing shoes vs always using new shoes? I would think it would be more cost effective in the long run to always use new shoes since the labor is the same, isn’t it? Having said that, I was thinking that set of used shoes did look like they had a bunch of miles left on them.

as someone who has never watched or read up on anything about horses and know nothing about them or caring for them, genuine question; would one find dead small insects underneath their hooves? Surely with the amount of ground they cover a dead ant is going to be in there somewhere? And if so would one get idk, infections or smth from that? geuinely curious

Hey Maupin, as for content, I want some commentary, tell me about the horse, what you're doing, and why you're doing it?
I never did see where the savings (shoes) of a reset amounted to much, if I'm going to spend the same amount of time, I'm going back with new shoes, and yes I know the customer is always right.
You always do a fine job, and as usual I'm always impressed with your attention to detail.
I hope y'all have a Blessed Christmas and a prosperous New Year!

Why are you reusing old shoes? Doesn't your Farrier fee include NEW shoes? You're very skilled and you were the first Farrier I saw on the RUclips using a Barrel sander on the horses outter hooves. I would also like to see how your sharpen your tools. Also whenever your put the hot shoe against the naked hoof, I always worry that you may burn your hand. Have you ever done it?

The out of focus thing is a problem. Everyone I get excited to watch a video the constant back and forth focus is an issue. It's not the camera's fault, it's not the farriers fault, it's not the horse's fault, it's the cameraman.
