I'm a FOREVER FAN of Ball and G! Started listening to them at 12 years old, far too young but still. I hope they get their accolade while they're alive to see it happen, underrated, slept on (still) and far too underappreciated imo. Living Legends! Also....they could rock me to sleep with their voices, and I would still marry MJG TODAY!
I am from Memphis I have run into these Brotha's numerous of times and I am here to tell you they are the REALEST 2 GROWN MEN you will ever meet! Like they said they don't turn down a picture or an autograph, they just KEEP IT REAL and that's why they have been together for so long. They never cut each other off they never cut each other out they make sure that it was an Opportunity whatever one could get the other could have! They are very underrated and it's a shame that after all these years they STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED ONE DAMN GRAMMY or AMERICAN MUSIC AWARD but I don't care whether they we had 1 or not as long as they keep making the music that they make I'll forever roll wit 'em! Is hard to find good old school rap with PIMPIN in it that makes you think opposed to doing something negative! #SoufMphs #OrangeMound #901
Eightball & MJG has always been God fearing, that's why they stay so blessed and survive to still be all these years!!!.. I'm still waiting on the album "Timeless" when it's gon drop.
Its on da song paid my dues ft CeeLo Green when MJG said I was 18 when I sign my first contract and about 18 in ah half when I sign my worst contract we hurt from that unil this day they still distribute our first tape coming out hard now can you feel it be humble and patient or what ever you should choose cause to get where am right now I done paid my dues
Such an awesome interview. Love me some 8Ball & MJG. It's good to hear a part of their story and be brought back to that familiar place. I had know idea they attended Ridgeway. I surely miss those days and Memphis, TN.

When their first album dropped I was in the Marine Corps and one of my fellow Marines who was from Orange Mound, Memphis Tennessee had just came off leave and was bragging about his homies dropping some new music and my response was “What They Rapping About, Cornbread and Greens”.... We took a ride in his sidekick and I was blown away, of course his CD came up missing and ended up in my Chevy blasting through my 12” Kickers and I’ve been a fan since then....

i have noticed that MJG is not a big talker when it comes to Interviews, but when it comes down to spit a verse he's lyrical as hell
Not just Memphis.....they played a major role in putting the south in the map.
Them Ugk and outkast helped the south to get to where they at now especially in the 2000s when the south really blew up
