It's unfair how good ZZZ music is. Hearing the tracks in game is just so unbelievably hype along with the gameplay, and they have so many genres that just end up fitting with whatever your doing in that present moment.
This whole OST is one of the most diverse in the whole Mihoyo games : you can get jazz and classical piano at the twin ballerinas, heavy dubstep in Hollow Zero, or light Trap in your daily life with Daily 60 % and soon heavy metal with all the new agents ! This game has it all ! I'm still banging my head to Fantastic 60 % and Daily 60 % my personal favorites ! Like, you know this game is going to be fire when the first music has A FREAKING JAZZ BASS !
I love that each faction has its own song and each character has its own soundtrack associated with that faction song and that song gives it a rhythm that tells me how the character plays.
i love how much of a love letter this soundtrack is to the genres and subcultures its paying homage to. as someone who was really into the edm scene growing up, this soundtrack is so legit. you can tell that the producers behind this ost are not just inspired by edm but are edm producers wholeheartedly in their own right. them playing at CF is a testament for sure to how sincere of a tribute it is to the culture. i could go on with the tiny details of the production but i think marco, you summed it up really well. the tiny accents, counter melodies, the surprising amount of harmonic complexity, time signature changes, and the many many playful details in sound design and shaping, its arguably hoyo's most sincere and strongest work for me now. i'm sure you saw the trailer too for the new update and now their taking a lot of this electronic background to the heavy metal motif of the new story and map which interestingly, a lot of what dubstep is now can be attributed to its roots and relations to metal so it really cant be overstated how beautifully this soundtrack pays homage its fucking awesome

FUN FACT: one of the songs "Metal Chimera" the boss theme for the 2nd act; I was doing a Hollow Zero op in the construction zone, and while I was fighting the boss, I managed to unintentionally time my Ultimate with Zhu Yuan to the bass drop and once it hit, it was one of the most satisfying moments in all of my playthrough that I wish I was recording it.
I can safely say it has a TON of content for you to play right off the bat especially since the recent banners, and then there's the new banner coming out with a brand new region as well, its super fun and i highly recommend!
I love how they have this level of quality with electronic music in the game and then they also have really good heavy metal with Pompei's boss fight theme Long Live the King. Really adds to an already fun experience of playing ZZZ.
As soon as it dropped I though it was really nice to listen to it even in the car. As a player I totally love this but now that I saw your video I realized that this set of music can be enjoy by everyone too. It's actually really nice to see it ngl.
I felt kinda "meh" about installing ZZZ. Then I visited their pre-register page and it featured THIS kind of music. Registered immediately. This stuff works man. It's totally possible to fall in love with a game solely because of it's soundtrack
Zenless Zone Zero is unironically my GOTY. Part of it is because it's an unironically good game despite being a gacha, part of it is that the soundtrack is absolutely phenomenal, and part of it is because 2024 has been mostly disappointing outside of Space Marine 2 and Elden Ring DLC.
speaking strictly about the four themes we got to listen to in this video, and saying right away that I don't really like EDM, I liked the build up for the first two but kinda hated how they went on, I liked the third one because it all felt like a build up without going excessive with the electronic parts, and I totally disliked the 4th one because it's basically the opposite of the third. but even then, I can absolutely see why these tracks are way above the average quality of EDM, they give out a lot of personality, like you said many times in this video and I'm very happy that many many people got closer to videogame music in that convention, definitely a big goal for videogame music enjoyers
It's so odd to me that video game music has some barrier that make people not want to listen to it. Video game music is REAL art! Made by composers that took years of training. Ace Combat's _Zero_ is real music! Yu-peng Chen is a real composer! Video games are interactive art, and many fail to understand that.
I’ll be honest I LOVE hoyo’s games and music but I always feel a pang of embarrassment whenever they do concerts to the open public not just their fans or sponsors like the Olympics because they are a gambling game company, Again I love them but I can’t shake this feeling of embarrassment whenever they do something like this
@@MarcoMeatball It is a really good way of reaching out the the wider audience and ZZZ is the best chance at that but I personally will still feel that embarrassment knowing that the music they are loving and listening to is from a gambling game, I do hope they can put their money into some games and music that hasn’t got gambling in it or massive amounts of fan service (I apologize about any typos or fumbling in my sentences)

The Jazz in this game and that twin balerina song sold me when it was teased back in may, its so rare to find EDM mixed with classical nowadays

I believe Adagio For Strings from Tiesto is what you love, a great EDM remake of Samuel Barber's masterpiece.
