Their Debut song GIVEN-TAKEN is about them following their fate, they were questioned (it’s normal for survival show winners), and everything was uncertain and the outer world seems to be a burning sun, where they are all exposed.
They hear Engenes calling them and they follow what fate brought to them, they are doing their best to meet all the expectations and coming out under the burning sun and facing their Fate as ENGENES called them. Whether their debut was Given or Taken they are ready to face the horizon inside them.
I loved the song, I loved the Concept, I loved how much they improved and how much best they are doing, and I already feel proud that I'm one of the pre-debut ENGENES who will watch this talented MONSTER ROOKIES grow!

@@mellowlino Before the group was officially named, all 7 of the babies appeared on a reality elimination show in South Korea called
“I-Land”. The show started with about 24 young male trainees all hoping to make the final cut as a KPOP group. At the end of the series, only 7 were left standing. 6 were chosen globally (Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Jungwon, and Niki). The 7th member (Sunoo) was selected as Producers’ Choice. Also, on the last episode, before the final 7 were selected, it announced that the group would be called “Enhypen” because Bang explained just as a hyphen is used to connect words & phrases, his hope was that the group “Enhypen” would be the same in connecting people and promoting new growth. I think the last episode of “I-Land” was in September 2020.
Enhypen officially debuted November 30, 2020. Their debut song is “Given-Taken” from their EP called “Border: Day One”. Since their debut, I know they’ve at least won Seoul Music, Golden Disc, and Gaon ROTY awards. This particular version of “Given-Taken” is the Japanese version.
That’s why I’m totally psyched out with this video! My babies haven’t been in the KPOP industry a year yet, and they’ve won quite a few awards, been on the cover of international magazines like Vogue, Seventeen, Forbes, and made Billboards Hot 200 ( 3 of their songs reached 13, 18, and 21)! I still remember them from “I-Land”, how they worked so hard and how Jay and Jake were sent to Ground; when Seventeen came to encourage them, and when BTS answered their questions and concerns and sent the last 12 trainees customized gifts! I remember them crying when friends got eliminated and how happy all 7 were to see the other 17 trainees come back for the final episode!
I am so glad I made the decision to be a fan. I was gonna stop being vested into KPOP after my Tomorrow by Together babies came along, but Enhypen......all I can say is “WOW”! So proud of them!

> Heeseung failed an art school entrance test but right after that was scouted by 7 companies
> Jay was born in seattle but moved to korea when he was a kid, he was also an ex SM trainee
> Jake was born in brisbane, he passed the bighit global audition and trained for 7 months. He played the violin, skateboard, soccer
> Sunghoon was a professional figure skater and have won several medals. He’s done figuring skating since he was like 9
> Sunoo used to do kpop dances in his school. He was a class president too. He likes horror and thriller movies.
> Jungwon is the youngest leader in kpop. He was an ex SM trainee. He’s really close with his grandma. He does taekwondo
> Niki’s parents own a dance studio. He dance since he was 5 years old. He used to be a backup dancer for Shinee
