Dr. Joel... How likely is it to get hyper pigmentation under the eyes after this treatment? I had a consultation in Oslo and I was told that because I have brown eyes I could get discoloration. I am very white in my skin, and my eyes are hazel and hair medium brown. But the doctors here are used to treating blondes. So the surgeon didnt recommend getting laser to tighten the skin. Can you advice?
Nikki you could have a fractionated erbium laser treatment which can safely reduce wrinkles provided the surgeon or dermatologist is conservative and not too aggressive with their treatment.Avoid lasers that deliver deep heat intensive treatments can stimulate melanocytes to produce "post inflammatory hyperpigmentation".

Because I have genetical eyebags that are obviously going to worsen as time goes by and they have been bothering me ever since I was a teenager so I really want to get this done but I have read that some doctors refuse to do this procedure on younger people (like for example people in their early 20s) so do you have any insider info on this? I have read that you might have to re-do the procedure at one point if you get it done at a young age and that there are risks of having saggy eyebags (like loose skin). I watched a video of someone who was 24 and got this done and her results were so amazing that I can't stop thinking about this procedure. Her face just lit up just like that and everytime I look at myself in the mirror (especially in the car lol) I just look unwell. I would really like to look like I am not tired 24/7 but as I said earlier I would like to hear your opinion since you have been doing these for a long time. Thank you in advance!
Depending upon your problem a lower eyelid Blepharoplasty can be performed from the late teens all the way into the eighties but a conservative approach is wise in order to avoid removing too much fat which could potentially result in a hollowed appearance.

Do you think fat repositioning or fat grafting is preferable for a lower blephroplasty?
In my hands I prefer fat grafting to fat repositioning.There is often not enough fat to reposition to "cure" the volume loss
