Hello again!! By any chance, will you get to try the W213 chassis soon? I'm wondering how it differed from the C and S class! And has the design center of MB closed down in Japan? I don't hear of it any more but wanted to visit!!
I love your driving vids and coming from your 124 320E, the new S is super flat and a lot quieter than the 124 but I can still notice the same sound when it goes over bumps. No matter how electronics the cars get, it's a Mercedes for sure! If you ca drive either the two, which would you choose?
Thanks for the compliment! OK, to be honest, I would choose the s class. But stripping all the electronic extras, I would prefer the W124. Don't know exactly why, but it gives you such a calm feeling and driving style. Unbelievable and never reached again with such less electronic effort!
TheApp9 Thanks for the reply - I am now certain that the engineers from the 80's really took the quality to the highest standards. The 124 is a true "classic" for the Mercedes history and here in Japan they are still quite popular among Mercedes enthusiasts so much so that there are specialized shops handling them aside from the official dealers. There is something very special and comfortable about these and I felt that from when I was 6 yrs old. I can not wait for mine to be delivered. Working for MBHQ would be a dream come true because I'm a HUGE fan!!
Wow, you described what it takes to be a W124 exactly like I feel! :) I am happy that you are such a huge fan and hope you are happy and lucky with your Mercedes! All the best to you and Japan! :)
TheApp9 Thank you for the kind wishes - in glad you agree. I went to visit the MB museum a few years ago after seeing BMW, but the atmosphere was completely different. I was able to tell how much Mercedes takes pride in inventing the first gasoline engine driven car, all the way to Motorsport accomplishments and a taxi that drove mile after mile still looking new. It must be late! Good evening to you!!
I like the S-Class, however I must say that the air suspensions on this generation is a '' DISASTER '' ! You can see it and feel it throughout the video: shock absorbers do not fulfill their role does not shock absorbing potholes ... And this is not acceptable from Mercedes, from the S Class, from the air suspensions!
+rerometo I think the GoPro cam mount is the one who strengthen the movements. Driving this car it was a fabolous feeling. Compared to C class, CLS, E class and GLK this was amazing. Total control of the movements can only reached in an S 500 / 60 with the magic body control. This outranges even RR ;)
TheApp9 Hello TheApp9! Maybe you're right but I noticed this ''problem'' in a few videos and I think Mercedes should do something about it! I will find and send you the links if I can. Bye.
rerometo Hi! Hmmm, I have two ideas about it. You only find it in a few videos, right? And the link above shows that the s-class has its biggest issues with the suspension. Maybe these are cars with a damaged suspension? In my car could be a mistake by me. I talked to an expert. You have a button wich lifts the car body. As long the body is liftet (untill you press the button a second time) the suspension only works on approx. 20%. So nearly nothing. I know that I've pushed the button, thinking it makes the suspension better ;) cu

+Ato Nympha Haha....thumbs up for this comment :)
+TheApp9 I bet it drives smoothly
+Ato Nympha Absolutely! It is even a big step ahead of a class C or even CLS. I is realy the smoothest car, I ever drove with.
