If you can find a Yamaha SY22 or SY35, they make dandy wavestation controllers as their vector joysticks map to the same midi cc numbers. This isn’t an accident as Yamaha / Korg / post-Sequential were all under the same umbrella.

You must have set them really LOUD, because I was wearing headphones listening to this video too. I'm highly sensitive to sounds and volume, but even I was just about ok with this one. I know someone who asks me to put his headphones on to listen to things, but I immediately turn the volume down because he has his music so loud, that everyone in the room ten feet away can hear it crystal clear. He then turns the volume back up when I put his phones back on my head, because apparently it is too low to enjoy how I have it.
@@aristotlekumpis7095 oh thats cool, could be a useful thing to run samples through. I guess the AD then is the one to go for. I see both locally for the same price.
The Brass sound of The Wave Police reminds me of some parts in Genesis We can't dance, especially on Fading Lights. It's not quite the same but the sound character is defintely in there.
It can be used as a replacement...but the correct patch is on another keyboard, the Ensoniq VFX. But when I play that song I bring up another brass patch instead.

Thanks for reminding me about the WaveStation, Paulo. Like somebody else in the discussion, I have the iOS version of this, and your video reminded me to drag it back out. I discovered that the soft-synth version of this actually can play nicely with the Roli Seaboard (Block - I don’t have the full size version, only the USB/Bluetooth-only mini version) if the settings of both are adjusted. The WaveStation interacts nicely with after touch, but I still need to set up the mapping of the SeaBoard’s CCs to the vector stick. If you ever get a chance to borrow a SeaBoard, you should check it out as a controller for the W/S. Cheers!
1 Finger L>S.O sounds like a 91 hardcore tune at the beginning, just can't put my finger on it! Nice job all around though! Thing sounds phat, warm and full!
I used my Korg Z1's XY touch pad to control the vector joystick function on the Wavestation SR through midi controllers 16 and 17. I must say that ZZ Lead was one of the best keyboard based rock guitar sounds that I've ever played... Right up there with Rude Guitar in the Ensoniq TS10 and TS12.
