Do you use a crimper when doing your styles to add volume/hold? If you do which is your favorite?

How do you recommend becoming a second stylist ? I am a stay at home mom and I can do hair but I’d want to do per diem type of work where I’m there to help if the main stylist can’t handle the work load . What would you suggest in going about finding this work and how to charge?

Majority of stylists will require you to have experience of some sort so I would begin by practicing at home on some girlfriends! Posting and beginning to build your brand to gain more experience will help you in landing an assistant opportunity! When I worked with second stylists I would only hire stylists that are actively pursuing the career and practicing the art regularly. Stylists in my area usually post assistant opportunities on their stories, or they may reach out if they find your work and feel you’d be a good fit for them! Hope this helps!
